@craig20vt I remember watching a big projection TV at my friends house back in 1981. Back then there was no HDTV, there was no line doubling technology, there was no high intensity projection lamp nor DLP nor LCD. The image was projected from 3 CRT tubes. The scan lines of the TV were like half an inch apart. I said to myself, what is the point? But my friend was so proud of his TV so I didn't say a word aloud.
@dreabboy Yup now u can buy a 82" LCD tv for around $4,500 & I have seen them as low as $2,200 on sale.. Just think what they will sell for in another 2years :)
i agree id rather buy a projector. it cost WAYYYY less and if you invest in the right one the image is badass. i have a 52" but i think im gunna buy a projector soon
too bad its a plasma i dont like plasma, lcd is pretty good specially led tv full 1080p or since its a bigger tv higher resolution. but imagine having a 150 inch led tv 7.2 sorround sound, with either a 5970 or crossfrire 5870 damn i just had a lead in my pants thinking about it lol
@06Alucard06 They are moving towards that. Remember how much a 50" HDTV cost just 2 years ago. Now you can buy one a little over a thousand. Once they've perfected the mass production process, the price will drop.
they made a stupid pc which has a holographic screen and when you touch the screen your finger goes through the screen like waterand theres no mouse everything you do with your finger......how do u click anything if ur hand goes through the damn screen
lol, what a joke. how much is this thing? 10 grand? when you can get a projector for 999 and get a 300 inch imax image on the side of your effing house? HDTVS WASTE OF MONEY, AND A SCAM!!!
projectors have poor faded image quallity that isnt very bright or crisp and the image quality gets more blurry as the projected area becomes larger. . also most cheap proj's have very low refresh rate and you can easily see it in a moving camera shot its like graphic lag . and most lights in proj's wont last long at all. LCD and Plasma have better image quality and brighter whites and darker blacks and more thicker colours. but yeah if you going for 100" best with proj over silly 100k tv.. haha
@fergus1494 what kind of projector do you have, cause i have a panasonic that i cant tell the difference between my 60plasma and my projector. very detailed. add blu ray and its golden!!
ha, but mate if you had a choice.. 10k for 100" 1080 screen and all that junk or 100k for 100" screen all that, you tell me, would you spend 10k or 100k. and with todays build quality (aka the quicker it breaks the quicker they buy a new 1 = more money we the tv company gets) i dont think 100k into a big plasma is worth it. but yeah 65 and smaller get a tv if you have the money. so much better
@VipersPure Wow people like you are such dumbasses. All you do is cuss, call people retarded things just 'cos you got your feelings hurt, and don't understand that women don't have cocks. I think you need to retake your biology classes.
stevensheps u can suck at life 50 i also use it as my computer screen as well as my wii my xbox 360 and my ps3 i also got surround sound hooked up to it and at 20 it pushes 90 volume level
yea, same and the best thing is that pc's have far higher resolution. My 5 year old laptop has the equivalent to HD resolution and people are all thinking, Wow HD is so clear when pc's are 3-5 years ahead. Yes, my lovely 22" super bright hp screen is good for games. Just a pig to carry.
yes it can have HD resolution- old ones have 720p. It's the size of the pixels that makes the difference. A tv has larger pixals than a phone for example as you are ment to look at it from further away. So a 50" tv screen may have 1,000 large pixels (width) wheras a 20" PC screen will have the same amount. This therefore means it is HD.
MY friend's 24" LCD had 1920X1080 which is exactly the same as the Samsung UE40B7020 - 40 inch screen size, Resolution: 1920 x 1080 pixels.
haha, you dumb ass.. i have a crt from the early 2005 and it has 1200 pixels going down the screen = 1080p pixel for pix, and like that guys saying its the size of the pixel and also its the gap between pixels.. also the quality of the pixel and the screen type effects how much light go's through. 1080 isnt new. its old. atm its just a big marketing sceme to make you pay an extra 1 or 2k for not much difference.. and at the recomended viewing distance there is no difference to the human eye.
a guy on my street bought a 102" like a month ago... they had to make a hole in his fuckin roof to get the damn thing in... sounds like a waste of money :O but hes prolly enjoying it right now..
i have got close to tht i got 91 inch screen in my living room its kind has a projector behind it so you don't really see anything infront so yea its cool!
i want a 1080p projecter with a nice white screen to hang on my wall so i get good, clear picture. i can get to fucking 200+ inch with that on my wall....well its fun to dream, right? AH ha but all my dreaming is over in 10 days, its my birthday!!!! and guess wut im getting!!!! i'll let u figure that out
projectors are junk you have to replace the light bulb in them every year. And guess how much the light bulb costs. Ill let you take a guess..............................$250
that is most likely standard definition to the eye, you'd have to sit pretty far away to get the maximum high definition picture u would get with a smaller one
