  • I loved the recipe, easy to follow but if you could add how long the cut-scenes were for just to be more accurate with timing ! In overall 10/10

  • @sahoool, if you mean the cooking time, it should not take more than 40 minutes till the tomatoes taste cooked and the okra is soft enough to your liking, as long as it is not mushy. please check out my blog for more details on this recipe. thanks.

  • do u eat it like that or put it on rice or something?

  • @txteabagger , yes, you may eat it with rice on the side or you may dip it with pita bread.

  • Im a begginer and did it, it was easy thank :)

  • The best thing is u use stuff already available and packaged and do not bother to make it complex. Loved that...Also the basics steps can be used to other types of veggies besides okra...I used much less tomato tho...

Shukran again, you make cooking seem lovely...

  • @Limelights1 , thanks for your kind comment. i get a lot of negative comments because i use frozen vs. fresh, dry vs. fresh again, canned vs. fresh again and again..the end product should taste good as long as i use good products that i have tried before and i like. have a great day.

  • Tried it, was good, thank u!

  • @Limelights1 , Thanks for letting me know! Glad the recipe worked out for you.

  • what about the fried garlic and cilantro at the end? This recipe doesn't even use fresh okra. I'm sorry to say it, but this looks pretty bland in terms of flavor.

  • @UTfiredragon ، You do not know how that tasted like! It was good. i use the best frozen Egyptian Okra available when not in season. Frozen veggies are just as good as fresh ones! i added garlic to it at the start with onions. sometimes i add cilantro other times i do not. watch the other Okra video i have on my channel. thanks for coming by, watching and leaving a comment.

  • hum.. didn't know that okra was cook in this way.

  • @kadirecipes , There are many ways to cook any vegetables and product, depends on where you come from and the available ingredients. Thanks for coming by and leaving a comment.

  • How do i "deslime" the okra? i know thats important:)

  • @safehouse123 , when i cook it, it does not get slimy at all...i have no idea how to de-slime it :)

maybe you need to saute it with hot oil for a longer time than usual until it turns a bit brownish? not sure what to tell you. sorry and good luck.

  • @cookingtheeasyway in order to make okra slimey u do nt add tomatoes the moment u put tomatoes in it looses its slime. if u want to put tomatoes the just a l little bit, a very, very small amount and also when u cover the sauce pan witha lid whiles cooking it looses it slime. try not to cover it and add only a tiny bit of tomatoes. try it my way and let me know who it turned out

  • Thanks for posting. I was searching for Okra and tomato recipe. I want to surprise my Mom. Looks delish. I'll have to try this tomorrow.

  • this can be cooked with meat ??? and just another question is okra spicy orginally or would i have to add my own to make it spicy??

  • @latinabonita22 . this dish can be cooked with meat (beef or lamb). it is up to you.

Okra is not a spicy vegetables. you can add hot chilies, such as hot peppers , according to your taste.

  • @cookingtheeasyway thanks

  • Mm, I ate Okra stew today!

  • Very nice. I will make this. Thank you.***

  • again, in the south we eat stewed okra also.

  • tranurse, i think that Okra is under used in Europe and the Americas, the more east you go on the world map, the more people use it...its very popular in the middle east, africa, india and some parts of Asia...but people who cook this vegetable appreciate it and love it!

  • شكررررررررررررررررا يا مان

  • Hmmmm... looking delicious... i'm romanianand we don't cook okra verry much :( but i discovered a turkish recipe, and is so tastly.... is cooking almost like yours, the difference is that i'm putting lemon juice on final and mint... try it,diserve :) )....by the way....u roasted too much the garlic, don't think so? the taste is changeing in bad.... ty....

  • Thanks for your comment...the turkish recipe you listed sounds really nice...i should try it sometime. lemon and dry mint are common ingredients in middle eastern cooking and used widely. i roasted the onions first then added the garlic, onions need more time to cook..i think the garlic looks good in color and as far as i remember it tasted nice..it was not bitter at all since it was not burnt. :) thanks again.

  • i have seen most of your videos and recipes ,, actually it's very nice and u make it easy for anyone who wants to cook am gonna try it for my husband thanx ,n THUMPS UP !! cheers!

  • I do not know why you are angry in your comment :)

cooking is very personal, and you add your own touches to whatever recipe you want to make it your own to enjoy! thanks for coming by.

  • im hungry now

  • Why do the arab people HAVE to put tomatoe sause in EVERYTHING?!! Come on guys, vegetables do not taste like tree leaves, if that's what you all think. I promise.

  • loooool...we dont put it on EVERYTHING! i promise we dont.....molokhia is a vegetable dish that we dont put tomatoe on! and there is alot of others too...but the point of these dishes....most of which do have tomatoe or some other sauce is to be served along side "dry" foods like roasted meat or plain rice

  • You know nothing about Arabic food.

  • You are so ass backwards in that comment. I can't wait to try this recipe. Thank you for sharing this recipe with us.

  • thanks for coming by safi4es. glad you liked the recipe.

  • Looking for a different way to do okra, instead of gumbo. So easy, I think I'll try it.

I have fresh okra, and I think I'll cut it and fry it a little to release the nutty flavor in the seeds. Also I'm going to add red pepper flakes.

Do you think chopped green onion at the end would be nice?

  • bigboy, yes, adding red pepper and chopped green onions sounds great. make sure that the tomato sauce is thickened, this dish is best with white rice on the side or with pita bread.I hope the recipe works out for you.

  • Oh! Okra, my favorite veggie!! :)

  • xxDANTELAxx, thanks for coming by and leaving a comment. glad you liked the recipe.

  • Hi again, do you think if i added beef stock,, insted water that would be ok? Thanksss

  • MrsAmoora, of course you can add beef or lamb broth to it, it all depends on what you like and how you like your dish to taste like. i only cook vegetarian because my husband is!! thanks and have a great day.

  • It's best you boil broken lamb bone with some meat on it, for an at least 1/2 hour or so then you add up everything else! but again instead of onions, cook it with minced garlic and instead of black pepper you should be using Cayenne red pepper which is spicer and to cool it down add little bit of lemon juice and let it cook for at least 3/4 hour as the sauce gets thicker and tastier :D

  • ZankDigiTrash, thanks for your recipe!!!!

  • This looks so yummy!! I haven't had okra in a long time. I'm going to try this recipe.

  • snowmountain 2007, great! i hope this recipe works out for you and comes out great. Enjoy!

  • thnx,,but can u tell us how to cook the same dish with meat plz!!
