Vista also has those sys properties. Win7 and win vista are almost identical in function. Only difference is win7 has some more good stuff, is faster and has loads of bug fixes.
@goholden12345 So? Microsoft always said when it would expire from the time the BETA was released. Pretty silly reason to hate Windows 7 if ever I saw one!
well, that and they fixed it from crashing every 5 seconds, i think 7 is the best OS since XP really as they have fixed all the problems and made it less hungry
No, there aren't any hacks to make it possible. The reason it can't recognise it isn't because Microsoft doesn't want it to, it's because a 32-bit architecture is not physically able to address that much memory. The barrier is a technological one, rather than something that Microsoft or any other company put there on purpose.
There is no way for a 32-Bit OS to fully recognise 4GB of RAM. That's partly what 64-Bit is for; it eliminates the memory addressing limitations of 32-Bit software.
He was using the Release Candidate version of Windows 7, It's not the full version, its like the more advanced beta that came out for people to test...it expires next year :)
well not on xp. in vista and up the problem is fixed. in xp it will look at your graphiccards memory and it will count that as ram as well. so i you have 4 gig ram and 512mb gpu. it will disable a ram chip in order to use the gpu memory. i had 2x1gb ram + 1x2gb ram + 512mb gpu. so one if the 2x1gb was not used. leved me with 3 gig ram.
good tutorial, I would like to ask, what is the difference in the 32bit and 64bit, is the 64 better and faster because I have a 32bit. the board I have is a MSI gigabyte mother board that I bought back in 2007 Nov. Is the board I have any good. I will put up a video of whats inside of my computer. Thanks.
I just watched your six tutorials, PCWizKid. Amazing job. I love that you're making simple tutorials again instead of things that I can barely understand! =D I'm just kidding, but seriously, the simple little tutorials are nice and they're the thing that made me subscribe to you in the first place. Nicely done.
@sircaspian1 , I have several PC's with different builds, the one in the video is a Release Candidate Build , I have the Final Retail on DVD and also a RTM build download from different sources that also says 7600.
You can't. You have to install a 64-Bit OS to have 64-Bit. Your CPU must be 64-bit, and also check if your hardware has 64-Bit support. If you have a laptop I recommend sticking to 32-Bit if it's built in.

It just shows the update release.
Most software demands that you have a service pack installed because that service pack required may contain updates that the software you need.

what does evaluation copy expires on......mean!!
Techipedia 2 years ago
@Techipedia, it means if it's a test version/preview software of an OS.
So did you get the Windows 7 Public Beta build 7000 or Public RC build 7100?
(or any other builds) it will have an expiry date, like 5 May 2010 or something.
That means the OS shuts down and cannot be used, and requires a clean install, (when that date comes).
Though I don't know if changing the date in the BIOS will work...
