The build quality is fantastic and the best first version they have ever build. The only problem that I have with the 3DS is the no dual analog sliders (I think there great I can play street fighter with it) and the battery life cc6ould be longer. Mario Kart 7, Mario 3DS are great games and I am enjoying them. I'm getting the PS Vita as well.

I like the overall design, but the feel is a little heavier and clunky in shape. The fact that you can't close the screens without something to guard them because of screen scratching is annoying. If anything, I like that the interface is much improved, but I would still like to wait on a final verdict, as I own no software for it yet.
My favorite feature on the 3DS is the fact that it keeps track of all the games I've played and for how long I've played them....in good detail and with neat menus. Even the DS games have stats.
I don't like that DS games look worse on the 3DS...unless you switch to the original resolution which restricts the screen size to the DS lite's. It's a really unfortunate trade-off too, especially since the DSi's screen is bigger but the games look a bit better.
@AFMSB That's a very good point Ahmed. I don't even remember how to put the games in their original aspect ratio. Do you know offhand how to do that? I know for the eShop Virtual Console you have to hold a series of buttons together before activating the game, is it the same with DS games?
@ProjectCOE it's just like the Virtual Console ones. You hold the start and select buttons as you start the game. They look a lot more sharper and colorful with the original ratio, but the screen size is sacrificed.
@ProjectCOE I really wish that Nintendo would put some thought into the Wii U's upscaling engine for disc-based Wii games. The first batch of PS3 had some really cool options in making some PS2 games as good as possible with smoothing and whatnot. I don't think they're going to wow us with Wii games in HD resolution unless they offer them as downloadable emulated titles, just like what the Dolphin emulator for PC is doing. Some Wii games look absolutely incredible with Dolphin.
@AFMSB Yeah I've seen the videos. I wish Nintendo cared a bit more about the technical side of the industry sometimes. Their games have it where it counts, but at the same time we all enjoy looking at sexy visuals and whatnot. It'd be a real missed opportunity if they don't have some sort of upscaling onboard.
@AFMSB Excellent addition. I look at that feature pretty often actually. It helps me which games I actually played and how long it took me to beat them. That info is very useful for reviews and whatnot. It also shows me which games were worth the money and which ones I barely touched.
@tendresseak27 What do you think of the video though? Is this something that you'd like to see more of? Think some interesting conversations could stem from videos like this? I'm trying to get people to discuss what they like, dislike, etc about some of the newer systems out there. Kind of curious what you think.

Maybe the 3DS has the best game in a certain genre, maybe you can't stand it at all, maybe you were super excited for the hardware and were let down, etc. Basically I just want people to discuss anything/everything about the platform in question.
@XmnMetal I'm sure the twin sticks will be on this year's remodel and as for the Vita I'll be posting a few videos on it started February 15th.
