lol, i do that all the time and here a was thinking i was a genious but after seeing this vid it seems its done by lots of artists.

just like many artists run their drumloops trough a sp1200 or akai sampler to add some lofi grit

Samples have their own super cool sound of their own...so reallly thats what he wanted to imitate. When we hear samples, its obvious.

He just wanted that 'obvious' sound.
