I have the full set of her at the US Festival and am clueless how to put it in my PC DVD player and then COPY it to my PC so I can upload it. This is the studio version (lip synching) for the video & the US Festival live version is better; in fact when she hits that last note it last at least 3 times longer and she is standing bent backwards belting out; and I can't figure out how to upload her full set & this damn song!!!!

Hitting replay on this song! I LOVE PAT BENETAR! DAMN she can sing her booty off! Her strength, beauty, and kick ass attitude has been such a huge inspiration to me being a female singer! She has paved the way for female rock singer! I am in a pop/punk band called HEY YOU. If any of you PB fans would like to give it a try, we just put up a new video, and would love it if you would let us know what you think.... = )

I have the full set of her at the US Festival and am clueless how to put it in my PC DVD player and then COPY it to my PC so I can upload it. This is the studio version (lip synching) for the video & the US Festival live version is better; in fact when she hits that last note it last at least 3 times longer and she is standing bent backwards belting out; and I can't figure out how to upload her full set & this damn song!!!!

@ivegottaheadache I hope you do not do this just to make Pat look good. I really think she does not need it. But - anyway the first one is a good start. Please do not do too much harm to her voice. There are quite a few good versions around and the 90's live ones show and stand up. She really can sing.

I'm speaking of a live version of "her" singing "her" own voice; what can I do to it? Pat herself stated she refuses to sing this song live; so it's been a long time since I've heard her sing it live.

And there has been little competiotion since, especially with the new kids on block. So - all the best with your headaches. I try not to be one of them. At least for the future.

I'm over forty and I write my comments with some passion. I love this lady, vocals and the package (which was not quite so commercial then as these days they tend to be). And still some people keep on telling me to do something differently (like not mentioning some names with aggressive approach). I do try to understand how the matching on certain names or derivatives work and they get even more popular - even when disliked. So - why not just enjoy the brilliance of Pat?

@ivegottaheadache U got that right, she is the shit! I saw her perform in the same outfit as this vid in the early 80s & it was one of my favorite concerts ever. Promises in the Dark, Hell is for Children, Fire and Ice, Heartbreaker, Hit Me with Your Best Shot, all the hits. Neil was phenomenal. And that drummer was fucking amazing. He sorta looked like a dork at first, but he was a badass rocker, stood up on his stool and twirled his drumsticks. It was an awesome concert!

MTV wanted vids and they just pulled out two quick studio vids; the audience is family, friends, and members of the Pat Benatar Fan Club. She never lip synched and any concert or club venue EVER! Watch my US Festival footage of her to watch her rock out. No, 80's were nowhere never the fakeness of today; not by a long shot!

she never gets the credit she deserves..her voice is amazing and she made an impact...she was one of the first girl rockers yet she never gets any credit! shes never in the Rolling Stone lists or the Rock Hall.....she is a way better singer than Janis Joplin and even Madonna, who is more iconic, but Pat has the voice!

I don't for the life of me know how ANYONE can think Janis Joplin could sing, much less be a good vocalist. As for Pat, she has an excellent range and can sing the soft notes even better than the hard stuff, IMO. Ann is just plain phenomenal.

This is one of those songs that is able to transport me straight out of my life into some aural fantasy world then I unhappily come back to reality as the song ends.... Pat Benatar does this to me, Joan Jett can in concert, Paul Rodgers can with Ready for Love and Shooting Star, Sting with various songs- these are some great entertainers that have that superb ability to move me out of myself.....
