  • I love Breakdancing. Wish I could do it though

  • @MarlonskiFan Moroder is european too if you havent noticed yet mate, actually an italian austrian, thats pretty much as close to eurotrash/eurodance as it gets.

  • That's why the 80's were great. Everyone was happy and no one was being a dickhead, because everyone was too busy dancing.

  • Nice job! I haven't heard this since I was 6! Thanks

  • So cheesy today!

  • I breakdance every time I load something on a Spectrum 48k too...

  • @bytesabre I guess someones loved the year 1984 huh, I remember that year i turned 10 years old

  • dont mind the song, forgot about it though! but this video?? WTF!

  • @donnydcyclops Gotta agree!

  • is this track produced by Giorgio Moroder by any chance?

  • IRENE CARA ALONG WITH GIORGIO MORODER PROUDUCED THIS AMAZING ALBUM WHICH IS A TURE CLASSIC WITH HITS LIKE THIS ONE, WHY ME, FLASHDANCE, THE DREAM AND MY FAVOURITE (BUT NOT A SINGLE) ROMACE 83. WE WANT IRENE BACK!!!

  • 7 people cant breakdance

  • Such a good tune.

  • Incredible document!!!!!

  • i still have the single 45 vinyl record

  • This song was produced by Moroder, Cara and Mull. I have this on one of my LP's - Streetbeat '84 VOL 1. Great track!

  • Mario Paint sure has come a long way.

  • Hit #8 pop, #23 soul in Billboard. God bless!

  • I remember first hearing this song on Kidd Video when the chubby guy started breakdancing to avoid the flying records, lol

  • It is sooooooooooooooooooooooo long since I have heard this classic.

  • @snootzie 78

    let`s get the 80`s back !

  • Correct. You know your TV. It was her first debut in What's Happening. Rerun's girlfriend from Puerto Rico. She was awesome singer and great songs.

  • omg i still have the album maybe her best

  • man i remember when irene cara had a guest role on the show whats happening as reruns girlfriend.

  • Beautiful chord progression...wish people would classify stuff that moves them and not just call it 80s then mabeye ther'd be more moving music made today...the 80s were trying to move you and be innovative, they weren't trying to be 80s

  • @1980MF1980 you're very right. but it's easy to classify things by decades (which are artificial anyway)

  • Yeah the 80's was most enjoyable!

  • I MISS THE '80S!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • you & me both, I believe the best music came from the 80"s.

  • I don't believe that the best music came from the 80's but there were thousand of good ones like this one that I remember dancing and singing like a mad dog. kkkkk - Now listening to it again it makes me sure it was made only for the 80's - Impossible to cross the years and last forever.

It just makes me remind those good old days when I was 15.

  • @bigwillietheb Indeed! I've been saying this for many years. I'm a child of the80s, and the music was *spectacular*

  • Not available at some other places

  • The electro base is amazing !!.. i love this track !!!

  • Giorgio Moroder was a genius. Very typical Moroder production with the sheering guitar intermingled with the synth bassline from 1:25-1:39.

  • Video looks like a Computer-Game

  • This is not the real video moron

  • Is this really the offical music video?!? I think the New Zealand version is the ACTUAL offical music video.

  • Awesomely Bad Video. I want to pop and lock with Irene Cara.

  • Gotta love the 80's!!! Hahaha...I definitely remember this song, a big hit, but never realized it was Irene Cara. Lord knows I never missed an episode of "Fame."

  • IRENECARA WAS NEVER IN THE TV SERIES

  • I wasn't implying that she was in the TV Show (she played Coco only in the movie) but she did sing the theme song featured at the begining of every episode. So because of her role in the movie and her music being featured in the series I always associate her with "Fame."

  • I just wanted to add that althoguh she was not a regular cast member on the tv show "Fame" she made a guest appearance once to promote her "Why Me?" release...so to say she was NEVER on the show is incorrect.

  • Good old 80's!

  • I loved this song back then, even though they never played it on the radio in charlotte, nc. but I don't think I realized how serious those synths are - pretty hard club track.

  • *****80S MIX*****

    I have an 80s mix.

    Please visit MY CHANNEL.

  • Hot song!

  • Oh yeah!--This song was such a staple song of our crowd in the 80's.I remember the synths in this song were sooooo kool.I still wanna grab my leg warmers and 3 stripes when i hear her voice even today.

  • This song and "Let The Music Play" by Shannon were songs definitely ahead of its time for 1984. While most dance synth songs were more primitive like Human League's Fascination and Men Without Hats' Safety Dance.

It's real shame that neither artist had as many hits & a singing career as long as say Taylor Dayne, Expose, or Jody Watley for an 80s dance artist.

  • We listened to this tune over and over while I took some breakdancing classes in 1984. Still makes me want to pop and lock.

  • I remember this song on the local top 40 (z104, Norfolk VA) station in the 80s.

  • I've never heard this song before and i'm an 80's freak! How could I have not heard this? Thank you for posting :D

  • In case you missed it, there's a similar 80s tune "Let The Music Play" by Shannon, and "Rock It" by Herbie Hancock.

  • Oh my god! You too?

  • Surprise this wasn't in the 1983 Scarface soundtrack...the production Giorgio Moroder made here was similar to his production with "Turn Out The Lights" by Amy Holland. Especially the synth/electric guitar part at 1:25-1:40.

  • This song takes me back. She should have gotten more attention/exposure than what she did.

  • This is way too cool....

  • Im stuck in year 1983.....and i lov it

  • Pure Giorgio Moroder production...I love it. The father of techno...

  • Agreed. THis was ahead of it's time. Didn't chart too high. Most people didn't get it at the time.

  • Actually, this was hit here in the states. It was top 10 hit.

  • is this homemade?

  • I remember Irene back when she was on "The Electric Company" in the 70's.

  • Me too!

  • DELUXE PAINT I SENSE

  • Cute 80's style video...prolly done with an Amiga and Video Toaster...

  • Ooooooooh, me encanta esta mujer (aunque prefiera otros temas)!!! *_*

    Flashdance forevah!

  • it's the queen!
