the dead pixel or stuck pixel is on the lcd and doesnt effect the video recording. the best way to see it is to look in the view video part of the camera. or you could video some thing white. they are normally white or black. there are fix it programs that you can run which might fix it. if you type in dead pixel on youtube or fix pixel then a flashing program comes up. just record the blue, green and red flashing video and that might sort it out. it didnt for me.
No problem, man. Sorry this had to happen to you. Five cameras is nuts...I hear some of the Sony camcorders are pretty nice, but I think they use those proprietary Memory Sticks as opposed to SD. Really though, any working camcorder should be better for you than the webcam. I think I'm going to look for a solid point and shoot SLR next...the Canon's look really good at the moment.
hi all
some interesting things have happened. update video coming soon.

I hear ya, did you look into the aiptek's, understanding it is not a ext sterio port, but mono, called the action HD Z700/ GVS and now a extreme.
I as well say stand clear of the Samsung hmx-U10. its a great cam but not low level lighting.
again sorry to hear.

HD is clearer, but the frame rate on some of them are arful, there's a lot of flickering often going on.
You can't go wrong with a decent SD Camcorder, small or large.
