I'm musician myself for over 30 years, I've seen many instances of chorus or notes crosshatching each other in a few notes because of the enchained melody of the piece, but not necessarily copy each other tune, othewise Japanese and Korean would be the champion of plagiarism on Western music. When I listen to a few notes of their tune, I already know the rest, they often base the same melodic minor arpeggio etc...
WTF?! This is not COPY. It's just got a few same notes. BTW, I love both sides; F.I.R. and Studio Ghibli. I'm sure Studio Ghibli got other better animation to do than use up the time to sue F.I.R.. Of course only people with nothing to accomplish in their life will so obsess with this copy-and-get-sued minor thing.
Now , you have a work.POST ALL the SONGS WHICH CHORUS ARE SAME. Should you read more chinese to post this opinion out?You don't what we think just go to other forum to ask the other people ,i think they will say that you are SILLY

Walau, you all just defend FIR with no reason, just because you like FIR.
The second verse of chorus is EXACTLY the same. Liking Joe does not mean can copy the melody.

moreover, the guitarist of FIR (Real), he is very obsessed Joe Hisaishi. Real always said Joe is his idol. he likes him so much
therefore, PLEASE dont say that this song is plagarised
