@TheVikingChieftain Ah, well, that could be a whole different topic in and of itself and I'll bet a lot of Natives prefer not to identify with Pagan... but I think it's fair for me to say that since I am not Native (as far as I know) and do not practice any of the traditions I'm not going to make a video about it. Very nice educational video. My only concern is that you used the inverted pentagram to describe the satanic figure. In some groups that is the sign of a second degree witch (The Witch's Bible - Farrar, Janet and Stwert). Also some may consider certain practises to fall under the category of "Black". All in all great job really enjoyed this.
@missclaritystar That's fine because I only *know* European Paganism so I'm not going to make videos on things I don't know about. If there's other Paganism that interests you more look for that... also, a topic of debate that I've done a video on is whether or not non-European nature-based religions are even Pagan. Some would take the word as offense but more accurately, historically speaking, the term Pagan was used to refer to the European tribes- Celts, Germans, etc.
@missclaritystar So, yes, depending on which person you're talking to- European paganism is in fact the whole picture but again this is up for debate and there are no written rules on it. I know an African Diaspora practitioner who calls herself Pagan for example.
This is a wonderful video. My clan (coven/clowder) have been trying to show people that Wiccans, Pagans and Druids are not bad people. Yes, there are some practice the dark magics -and they usually end up destroying themselves somehow-, but we mostly try to be peaceful.

Fantastic vid, I'm neo-pagan, I was bought up to believe Christianity but after years of doubting this religion and finding it wasn't for me I descovered Paganism and I have never looked back. I am a lot happier and my children, although I don't ask them to follow me, do some things to help outside in nature and they seem to enjoy themselves. There are too many people out there that when they hear the ord Pagan who are judged as being evil.

I have been a pagan for several years now focusing on the Celtic Wicca of Ireland (leaning towards Druidism more). Thanks for posting this. Interesting little tidbit. The PaganFolk band OMNIA wrote a song called Taranis which is similar to this one, but evoking the male gods Taranis Jupiter Donnar Odin and Wotan.
I've studied Paganism and find it to be a very loving tradition. I am so sorry many people have fear and create ugliness around things they do not know. This was a great video introducing people to the basics. The pictures and art were awesome. I particulary liked the one showing the tree in the four seasons with the star in the middle. @Sayaswift The woman is a Wiccan group leader (I don't know if she's a high priestess of a coven, I just know she runs a group of some sort). She got the town's permission to have a group meeting on town property, like a park or something. The man showed up and started picketing and his claim was they shouldn't be allowed to use town space for their meetings. I think there were other Christians protesting at some point too. A you can see, the woman was very courteous even when he was not.

Much of so called neo-paganism (and I use that term against my better judgement because I know the true original meaning of the word pagan) is based on religions and beliefs that predate christianity and the idea of the devil. Further, if most christians would actually study their own religion's history they would realize that the devil didn't become a prominant or powerful figure till the middle ages. The church (mostly catholic at the time) was losing members and used him to cause fear.
as an atheist, i would like to try paganism out. nothing will make me believe in the supernatural at all, but i'm thinking about the rich, interesting history i would learn in-depth by putting myself in their shoes :). tried that with christianity. learned that christian rock is cocksucker music and that people are fond of stubbornness and favor threatening and not listening.

She's merely trying to explain to you that there is an afterlife and it's not the Hell that Christians try to push on us. When we are contacted or visited by the spirits of our dead, that shows us the afterlife is peaceful and is not exclusive to a chosen few favorites of God. A peaceful afterlife is for everyone- even cats... but not the purely evil, naturally.

Sooo Paganism is all different beliefs? I am trying to learn more about Paganism. I don't believe in one god my self... I am a person that believes every things is of a reason or has a meaning in life. " All is one or equal" is pretty much how I would explain it... @ghostworld420 That's how I started into Paganism. I considered myself spiritual but not religious. I had an affinity for nature and believed that anything that was alive had a soul or a spirit. Because of that, I found that I was a Pagan. From that I found other things that made me feel in concert with my surroundings. Streams, music, and waves on the shore. I would be considered a solitary, I practice in my own way. You should really find what works for you and just go with it. God bless!
What's your take on White Supremacy and Neopaganism? I've considered pagan traditions for a long time but can't get past the fact that exclusionism has worked its way from christianity into paganism.
@Katsingha Interesting question actually. In my decade-long experience with Pagans and Paganism, I have never known this to be an issue. You're going to come across people in every group be it religious or otherwise that kinda give the rest of us a bad rep. Paganism is meant to be a group of religions focused on community, religion, positive growth, healing, etc. If you actually know of Pagans who are white supremacists I would steer clear and find another Pagan group to associate with.

@Katsingha The only Pagan tradition I know of that is remotely racist is an offshoot of the Norse path - I don't recall the exact name, sorry. But Wicca as I know it has no white supremacist tendencies at all. If most Wiccans are white I think it's because it's based on British Isles beliefs at a time when there were no black people there. I have met a few black Wiccans, but Vodoun and Palo Mayembe seem to attract more blacks because they are African and West Indies based.

Pagan, now days, is not just European, but a lot of Asian and African and southern american as well as northern american spiritualities are considered pagan, anything not christian, jewish, or muslim is pagan, i believe that is what they say

I am pretty sure that the definition of Pagan as anything none-Abrahamic is more of a negative connotation because of the original meaning of the word being an insult to the Celtic tribes. @TheVikingChieftain Ah, well, that could be a whole different topic in and of itself and I'll bet a lot of Natives prefer not to identify with Pagan... but I think it's fair for me to say that since I am not Native (as far as I know) and do not practice any of the traditions I'm not going to make a video about it. I'm just going to stick to what I know and practice and if that's not good enough than oh well, don't watch my vids. I dunno.

Very nice educational video. My only concern is that you used the inverted pentagram to describe the satanic figure. In some groups that is the sign of a second degree witch (The Witch's Bible - Farrar, Janet and Stwert). Also some may consider certain practises to fall under the category of "Black". All in all great job really enjoyed this.

@missclaritystar That's fine because I only *know* European Paganism so I'm not going to make videos on things I don't know about. If there's other Paganism that interests you more look for that... also, a topic of debate that I've done a video on is whether or not non-European nature-based religions are even Pagan. Some would take the word as offense but more accurately, historically speaking, the term Pagan was used to refer to the European tribes- Celts, Germans, etc.

This is a wonderful video. My clan (coven/clowder) have been trying to show people that Wiccans, Pagans and Druids are not bad people. Yes, there are some practice the dark magics -and they usually end up destroying themselves somehow-, but we mostly try to be peaceful.
I actually made this page for my coven. We want to show the world that we aren't evil satanists.

Fantastic vid, I'm neo-pagan, I was bought up to believe Christianity but after years of doubting this religion and finding it wasn't for me I descovered Paganism and I have never looked back. I am a lot happier and my children, although I don't ask them to follow me, do some things to help outside in nature and they seem to enjoy themselves. There are too many people out there that when they hear the ord Pagan who are judged as being evil.

This is a very good video. It flowed well in content and connected with the music exceptionally. The energy in the video is wonderful! This is a good video for educating people concerning Wicca. I have been a pagan for several years now focusing on the Celtic Wicca of Ireland (leaning towards Druidism more). Thanks for posting this. It is nice to see photos concerning other Wiccan groups gathering. Aside from my mother, I am a solitary Wiccan.

I've studied Paganism and find it to be a very loving tradition. I am so sorry many people have fear and create ugliness around things they do not know. This was a great video introducing people to the basics. The pictures and art were awesome. I particulary liked the one showing the tree in the four seasons with the star in the middle. @Sayaswift The woman is a Wiccan group leader (I don't know if she's a high priestess of a coven, I just know she runs a group of some sort). She got the town's permission to have a group meeting on town property, like a park or something. The man showed up and started picketing and his claim was they shouldn't be allowed to use town space for their meetings. I think there were other Christians protesting at some point too. A you can see, the woman was very courteous even when he was not.

Much of so called neo-paganism (and I use that term against my better judgement because I know the true original meaning of the word pagan) is based on religions and beliefs that predate christianity and the idea of the devil. Further, if most christians would actually study their own religion's history they would realize that the devil didn't become a prominant or powerful figure till the middle ages. The church (mostly catholic at the time) was losing members and used him to cause fear.

as an atheist, i would like to try paganism out. nothing will make me believe in the supernatural at all, but i'm thinking about the rich, interesting history i would learn in-depth by putting myself in their shoes :). tried that with christianity. learned that christian rock is cocksucker music and that people are fond of stubbornness and favor threatening and not listening.

She's merely trying to explain to you that there is an afterlife and it's not the Hell that Christians try to push on us. When we are contacted or visited by the spirits of our dead, that shows us the afterlife is peaceful and is not exclusive to a chosen few favorites of God. A peaceful afterlife is for everyone- even cats... but not the purely evil, naturally.

@SariaSchala One correction, Saria - the Paul you speak of was NOT one of the disciples, he was a man named Saul of Tarsis who had a vision, changed his name to Paul, and began preaching things that were very different from what you see in the other Gospels. It is his narrow-minded, misogynistic teachings that shaped Christianity as it is practiced today.

Sooo Paganism is all different beliefs? I am trying to learn more about Paganism. I don't believe in one god my self... @ghostworld420 That's how I started into Paganism. I considered myself spiritual but not religious. I had an affinity for nature and believed that anything that was alive had a soul or a spirit. Because of that, I found that I was a Pagan. From that I found other things that made me feel in concert with my surroundings. Streams, music, and waves on the shore. I would be considered a solitary, I practice in my own way. You should really find what works for you and just go with it. God bless!

@Katsingha Interesting question actually. In my decade-long experience with Pagans and Paganism, I have never known this to be an issue. You're going to come across people in every group be it religious or otherwise that kinda give the rest of us a bad rep. Paganism is meant to be a group of religions focused on community, religion, positive growth, healing, etc. If you actually know of Pagans who are white supremacists I would steer clear and find another Pagan group to associate with.

@Katsingha The only Pagan tradition I know of that is remotely racist is an offshoot of the Norse path - I don't recall the exact name, sorry. But Wicca as I know it has no white supremacist tendencies at all. If most Wiccans are white I think it's because it's based on British Isles beliefs at a time when there were no black people there. I have met a few black Wiccans, but Vodoun and Palo Mayembe seem to attract more blacks because they are African and West Indies based.

ok this is very complicated but please try and understand what i say. bible's description of pagens are satanists. christians who hated pagens were satanicly controled by pagens who practised satanism. there is real pagenism and there is dark pagenism (elite religion) there is only dark fake christianity (satanic controlled) jesus was a jew and a religous rebel abiding only to god. god and jesus are real. ancient nature religion is the most spiritual. organised pagenism is questionable

The list at 0:38 seconds is incorrect. "Norse" and "Saxon" should not be listed separately. They are GERMANIC both, and Germanic is the correct adjective to be listed along with the other adjectives Celtic, Graeco-Roman, Slavic, etc. This annoys me to no end. I wonder why people do not realize that Germans and Norse are basically the same people and came from the same places. this is historic fact.

If you mean whether it is real or fake as far as what a specific book or website tells you Pagans practice, that's a bit harder, as Pagans tend to feel free to do whatever they like and call it their path. One thing I can say is that Pagans tend to strongly disapprove of harming people, animals or other living things and also tend to be environmentalists.

Pagan, now days, is not just European, but a lot of Asian and African and southern american as well as northern american spiritualities are considered pagan, anything not christian, jewish, or muslim is pagan, i believe that is what they say

I am pretty sure that the definition of Pagan as anything none-Abrahamic is more of a negative connotation because of the original meaning of the word being an insult to the Celtic tribes. So, to avoid saying wrong information I left out Asian/African/American since I dont know much about them. :)
