Tbh, you're first part is right, RB was the first for : band gameplay; customisable characters and a game with a tiny amount of covers (7, compared to GH3's 19). However, Michael Jackson is one of the best multiple genre artists ever, don't diss. By the way the people who made RB also made GH1 and GH2.
rock band two is the same game with a new setlist and minimal new features, even the review i read for it said it shoulda been called rock band 1.5, but none the less, still kick ass, guess we'll have to wait till world tour comes out to see which one is better.

GH WT will be way better. Rock band is way to easy and way to undercharted. I hate when people say its to hard and Rock Band is easy so people can have fun. For fuck sakes if Expert is to hard play fucking Hard, it still has Orange Button just less notes. Boring songs arent fun and Rock Band proved to us that even your favourite songs can be really boring to play.

yeah man, how do you figure guitar hero's graphics are better? not that it matters in any sense, nobody pays attention to the background when you're playing an instrument... gibson guitars/fender guitars dont really make a difference, the peripherals only have to be playable, so if you're choosing favourites over which one looks prettier, you have no place in critiquing these games
I pay attention to the graphics. And the notes look better then rockbands square blocks. Plus better set list. More rock songs and good music other then most of the mtv crap they put on rockband 1, there were only a few good songs I liked, even the the down loadable content. I mean yeah I expect some bad songs, but when your most of your set list blows, kinda ruins the fun in it.

I'm actually not sure. I believe their saying it's a combination of RockBand 1 and 2 but then again in interviews and such they've made it sound like it was all new. Personally I like Metallica but not everyone does. I'd prefer old metallica also. The way gameplay is better I need you to do this, play GH1 and try to do some hammer-ons and pull offs and then try it in GH3. Their saying it should be an improvement like that. If you exclude the things GHIV adds that RB already has it evens itself out pretty well. If you want to be generous and give GHIV the whole Battle of the Bands thing (even though RB2 has it) the RB2 list is longer but less significant. The GH list is shorter but, as you said, they're drastic. Add in the free 20 songs downloadable at launch and backwards compatibility and RB has the advantage of a massive setlist. So, in my opinion, they're equal in epic.

This game won't be so hot because GH4. GH4 will win because of, better set list, Gibson Guitar, better graphics as usual, drums would be a tie between both games. GH4 takes the title.

yeah man, how do you figure guitar hero's graphics are better? not that it matters in any sense, nobody pays attention to the background when you're playing an instrument... gibson guitars/fender guitars dont really make a difference, the peripherals only have to be playable, so if you're choosing favourites over which one looks prettier, you have no place in critiquing these games

I pay attention to the graphics. And the notes look better then rockbands square blocks. Plus better set list. More rock songs and good music other then most of the mtv crap they put on rockband 1, there were only a few good songs I liked, even the the down loadable content. I mean yeah I expect some bad songs, but when your most of your set list blows, kinda ruins the fun in it.

Well some of it was, I was happy to see wolfmother and Judas Priest and some Metallica on there. And yeah its cool that you can transfer rockband 1 songs onto rockband 2, I wish and wonder if GH4 will ever do that for the past songs, because in my opinion GH1 had some of the best songs on there.

yeah, I call it the "chart layout"... yeah it looks better. the cricles in GH look confusing. plus in rock band the colors are vibrant, like the solo background is blue... the energy is white, and so on...
anyone who says they dont look better, I'll respect your opinion but in a real guitar thats how they really are.
the string going across/down a fret forms a rectangle, so don't say rock band has weird notes cos thats how the real guitar is.

i think Rock Band is definately better then Guitar Hero World Tour, i saw a video of Hot For Teacher, the song looks way to hard to play, Rock Band is at just the right difficulty for everyone, some songs are on the hard side, others are easy, and Rock Band 2 seems to be continueing this, plus with 100 songs on release (disk and dlc) it is going to pass GHWT fast on song count, the only thing GHWT has is song creation and you cant even have lyrics

No. Guitar Hero 3 lost money? Guitar Hero 3 BEAT Rock Band in sales, Rock Band was just praised more. Guitar Hero 3 was supposed to be a band game, but Neversoft decided to take some time and make a band game when they've put all the pieces together. When Harmonix heard of this, they hurried up and released Rock Band for the sake of having the first video band game. As a guitar game, GH was rated higher. As a band game, Rock Band won. The only reason Guitar Hero sold more was because of the name. Harmonix never took their idea. You are just some idiot who would think that. The reason that Red Octane said they "were thinking of making a band game the whole time" was just a silly cover up so they could have a "good reason" to make a full band game following Rock Band. Besides, Rock Band has sold near 20million in DLC. 200 songs available for download and GH3 has what, 30. Rock Band 2 will have 104 songs. GHWT will have 85.

I'm actually not sure. I believe their saying it's a combination of RockBand 1 and 2 but then again in interviews and such they've made it sound like it was all new. I guess will have to wait and see to know for sure. No matter what this what I'm going with though and I would recommend it over GHWT any day. I'm also tired of people saying Rockband copied Guitar Hero. Harmonix made the first Guitar Hero so were they copying themselves? Guitar Hero 3 was the worst Guitar Hero anyway.

How is the gameplay better? GH3 was rated higher in gameplay over RB from IGN and Gamespot. GHWT has launch DLC too, with atleast 20 songs from Metallica's new album.
GHWT has everything Rock Band has, except for RB1 porting and AC/DC. It's going to have weekly DLC, and everything else. 85+ songs on disc, not including bonus songs. Rock Band 2's bonus songs are included in the 80 songs.

Personally I like Metallica but not everyone does. I'd prefer old metallica also. The way gameplay is better I need you to do this, play GH1 and try to do some hammer-ons and pull offs and then try it in GH3. Their saying it should be an improvement like that. Also, Rockband 2's bouns songs arn't on the disc, you download them, hence 20 free "DLC".

It's been CONFIRMED that GHWT has the most options and biggest character creation system of any music game. I don't know what you're talking about. When you said RB has everything GHWT has except song creator, you need to do your research. Touch sensitive pad? Bass career? New beginner difficulty? Those are all things Rock Band doesn't have. Of course the change from GH3 to GH4 was going to be drastic, they were going from 1 instrument to a full band so of course they were going to have to add a lot more. Rock Band 1 already had all of the instruments so all Harmonix had to do was add a few features to make the game more fun and enjoyable.

If you exclude the things GHIV adds that RB already has it evens itself out pretty well. If you want to be generous and give GHIV the whole Battle of the Bands thing (even though RB2 has it) the RB2 list is longer but less significant. The GH list is shorter but, as you said, they're drastic. Add in the free 20 songs downloadable at launch and backwards compatibility and RB has the advantage of a massive setlist. So, in my opinion, they're equal in epic.

Rock Band didn't have that much to add. of course GH4 is gonna look like its upgraded more, it didn't have other instruments before!
and the RB devs have already stated that they would have a song maker eventually, but they really wanted to work hard on something like that.

I'm referring to the main setlist, bonus songs and downloaded songs are not included. With the main setlist, it had only 45. GHWT is confirmed to have almost 90 songs on the main setlist. Now with bonus songs, it's going to lean towards 105-110. It's also said to have better downloadable content, with a weekly addition much like RB.

wrong... GHWT will have 84 songs TOTAL, while Rock Band 2 will have 85 songs on disc with 20 free DLC at/after release.

No, you're wrong. GHWT was CONFIRMED to have over 85 songs, and it was CONFIRMED to have the greatest amount of songs on the disc alone for any music based video game. Rock Band 2 was said to have around 80 songs, but with a sh*tload of DLC.

hey fuck face. who cares becuase rockband 2 has 1 amazing song list and with world tour mode, CC, battle of the band you know GH3 was a bad game the music on it sucked the strum bar was way to small and made alot of noice.and the best part is by the end of the year you well have a choice of up to 500 songs this is amazing.and the drum set for GHWT sucks there is no ride and 1 tom. the high hat is not where it should be and in the creat ur song mode there is no singing so you suck

Everything you stated in RB2 is on GHWT, and GHWT is confirmed to have weekly DLC like RB. The Guitar Hero strum bar was infinitely better, it let you strum fast notes, the RB strum bar was said to be mushy, and flabby. And about the GHWT drums, atleast they have cymbals, look at your dear RB2's drumkit. The ion is 300 bucks, so good luck selling that. You're an ignorant retard.

They are, there are three types of drum sets, that is the lower one, only problem is that the premium one is $300 :(

they are slightly improved with the metal foot pedal and what not but to get to the real improvements u have to fork an extra 30$ for the 3 extra cymbals.
