The instructor shouldn't of let the horse go where it wanted

The horse will only learn that it will get what it want's

make it go where you want it with plenty of leg and a bit shorter reins.

Good riding though it looks like you haven't been riding much remember to keep your heels down and watch where you want the horse to go
