Korea must have gone through some spiritual enlightenment or something because Hyundai and Kia have up their game with every new release. Kia started their Renaissance with the Sorento and Soul, Hyundai with the Sana fe and Tucson. Now look at them!!! I've Elantra 2007 it is a brilliant vehicle, I believe that Hyundai is jumping with big fixed steps allowing it to strongly compete their counter Japanes cars. And soon they may fabricate models better than japanes.

Hyundai is getting better and better, year after year, each model is getting replaced by a way better and upscaled model, with quality and power. Proof of that improvement is all the awards, excellent reviews, 5 stars in safety for all models and Sales Numbers they are making. The sun can be covered with one hand!.

I'm really liking this elantra overall but if you've seen the interior shots the AC vents on the center console are placed oddly. Other than that I can't wait to see the interior of a production model with a full reveal of the exterior too.

The 2.0 GDi will have 166 HP and 40 MPG standard. Accent and Elanra are about to really grow up. New Accent and Elantra wil be more upscale than Counterparts such as Fit and Civic. Elantra will have curent gen Sonata power an Elantra size with +5 MPG!!! Accent will stay the same sze but it will have 145HP (35 more than current model)and 45 MPG. Hyundai smal cars are usually in top 2 or 3 of small car sales, but now we are guaranteed to have the best possible small cars you can get.

the new 2.0 and 2.4 would not be the same current engines as the kia forte though as hyundai has replaced those with the GDI 2.0 and GDI 2.4 for superb power and gas mileage.

Is a 2.4 GDI really a possibility? If so, that would be a tough powerplant to pass up.

BTW, Hyundai has been putting out pretty decent quality for some time now. I have a 1997 Sonata that hasn't had anything major done to it. It's been reliable and continues to be so. :-)

@Orion8472 I can't imagine them doing doing 2.4 for the elantra it'll probably be a 2.0 or smaller because they're shooting for fuel efficiency the Chevy Cruze supposedly can get 40 MPG highway on a 1. something 4cyl probably gdi/turbo
