@Dende52 I am not french at all but I have a question about that. Do you add the L in front because its the article of "the" in english? Except instead of la argent, its l'argent because of the vowel? So we would say "I like the money." That seems odd but I know languages are different, obviously.
@ixcaliber we say "l'argent" because of the vowel. When a word starts by a vowel, the article is always "l'" (l'argent, l'honneur, l'humilité...), rare exceptions. But don't worry, french is really really harder than english, maybe one of the most difficult language in the whole world...
@Dende52 i do not intend to be mean but to say that french is one of the most difficult language in the whole world is just silly. firstly, i bet you do not know all the languages in the whole world. secondly, what might be difficult for an englishman must not be necessarily difficult for an italian. thirdly, what is difficult for peter must not inevitably be hard for paul. i can tell you that Slavic languages or Ugro-Finnish are ten times harder for most people who actually CAN compare them.
so this is your first video...., k I previously clicked on your most recent vid (no.52) um..relieved I found this as it helps not working in reverse order, lol.

@Renceau omg dutch is a germanic language like german, english etc. and france is a romanic language, which means dutch/german/english are not related with france anyway omg omg omg
Actually it's not "J'aime argent" but "J'aime l'argent". And we don't say "Donnez le dollar" or "Prenez le dollar" either XD But I'm glad you're interested in french and you even took the time to learn it and made a video to teach french to people :)
How did i end up here from monty python? I mean, it fits right into the retarded humor from monty python, but it's way gayer.... Someone get me outta here!
What I meant in my post before is that we've all complained about teachers who don't use the language they teach, sometimes because they can't speak it themselves.Aand how hard it is to speak a language you learn. And also what are a few periods every week? defo not enough, so the more the teacher speaks, the more the pupils hear, and will it find it easy to listen or watch stuff in that foreign language once at home. My pupils at least don't complain, unlike you in this video.
Hey. Just wanted to say I teach English to French people. I know it's supposedly easier to learn English than French as a second language, but still. Well I do exactly what you're talking about it here, i.e. I only speak English in class, from the very first lesson. It takes a lot of patience, some work on the words, but I don't translate, and even the beginners get it very quickly. And once they understand, they use it, they pronounce it right, and they're fluent quite soon. True story! ;)
It is similar to English, you cannot just say give or give me...
I have studied in French my whole life, so I am not making this up
Ok, I'am a real French Canadian and...
@Raph9419 You're only French Canadian, and everyone knows that in Quebec, they speak broken french. As in, not real french. So I really don't think you're anyone to judge. If I wanted to learn anything about French, a French Canadian would be the last person I'd ask. Next.
@bg11215 lol you talk shit about quebec french yet you watch a video full of mistakes. you try to learn french with a bad teacher, lmao fail. also, you speak american english which is a fake english lol tard.
haha I like your accent. you're surely american XD
btw...French is not like English... English is like French. why? 'cause English took so many words from French.
oh and...maybe you should learn to say correctly the sound "u" in french. It doesnt sound like "ew" like in English. no...I can't even tell you how it sounds like cause it's even not an english sound at all. But we still get it even if you phonectically say "resew"
@Infinitygirl28 You're exactly right. English is engineered to absorb other languages; as a result, it has more words than any other language in history. English has no qualms about being impure. English is hardly unique. English is a thousand languages sewn into one. And yet, its nuances make it my favorite language. That being said, French is the most gorgeous language in the universe. And when I hear French spoken by a proper native, I absolutely swoon!
@thefrenchguy3000 haha you should listen to French-speakers in North America (Louisianna, Quebec, Acadie, Ontario, Manitoba, ect )
yes. exactly ^^ In opposite, French native speaker try to avoid english words because they think it's either kind of assimilation or a mix with the language of Hell or something (english) lol "Mélange pas une langue si extraordinaire avec une langue de bas niveau" lol sure.. (Cause I have the tendency of speaking chiac XD)
@Infinitygirl28 Then by extension, French is like English. Like, not derived from. You know, we got our current alphabet from you. There is a second layer of similarity. Many French words are derived from Germanic, and also, a few of the features of the grammar.
@Infinitygirl28 no actually neither french is like english or english is like french.. both english and french have the same root which is LATIN.. so all of the languages that have roots similar to like spanish, french , english and many more.. they all come from the root of latin anyways.. i love the video its pretty cool :)
@iloveaga1 lol nah. English isnt a latin language at all. it's a germanic language. it tooks a lot of normand - french - latin words so it sounds a bit like a romance (latin) language.
@Infinitygirl28 no actually neither french is like english or english is like french.. both english and french have the same root which is LATIN.. so all of the languages that have roots similar to like spanish, french , english and many more.. they all come from the root of latin anyways.. i love the video its pretty cool :) am not trying to act like a smart ass but am just saying
@Infinitygirl28 English is more like German than French, it's a mixture of the two languages actually but tha happened nearly 1000 years ago when the two languages merged.
@Infinitygirl28 Well, I'll go over to how our language originated then. Back in 1066 a norseman (frenchman) by the name of William the Conquerer came to saxon england where they spoke a language very similar to german William defeated the only other heir to the throne and took england for his own. His own French language got mixed in with the Saxon language and English was born. So english started out as a german language, then had some french thrown in. Also our conjugation is more like german
@MrLEEMS *cough cough* what?! William the Conquor was Normand!! not norse. HOW normand language looks like a germanic language! It definately is a dialect of old French.
the Anglo-Saxon was germanic people and then William, the normand came and brought a lot of his dialect into the language. I can't compare cause i dont know any germanic language. Yes the conjugasion is more german. theres a lot of duo system in englsih language:
@Infinitygirl28 lol potato potawto. I think it really isn't either anymore. It's changed over the many many years it has existed and will always be changing :P oh and pardon me the norse/normandy I learned about he battle of hastings about 2 years or so ago and I know too much about vikings so that got mixed in there I guess.
how long have u been taking French? is it true that it is hard at 1rst but then it gets easy as you go along? im assuming it is hard to get the tounge to train for a different type of pronunciation ? please respond it is important that i get proper advice, I am a native English speaker without any accent with my english just pure
si tu parles comme ça Francais ( et des francais ) tu vas te faire taper en France. and yes we did use to have silver in our money... like... everyone else^^
@thefrenchguy3000 ok thanks man =) btw im a total beginner. like totally. any idea where to start learning french? like how do those primary school teachers in france teach it? =P
@thegoonist If you are good with self-instruction, simply pick up any beginner's guide to French. Try to get one with a CD for listening comprehension. Eventually, you will want to either enroll in a class, or take private lessons (even if for only a few months). If you're diligent, you'll absorb the language over time. It does take a lot of practice though. Keep in mind that speaking it regularly with people who already speak it is key.
I can see what you're doing. You're making it interactive, plus bringing it in a funny way, which should help people remember it. So therefore, thumbs up!
In fact I don't need to refresh my french because I'm french but I think you french is really good! You have a goos accent! YOU HAVE TO MAKE THE SUBTITLES BIGGER !! VIVE LA FRANCE !!!!!!!! Tout le monde devrais venir en France! CAfé grande is not english so it's the same thing in France but in fact we don't have much starbucks in France !!!!
Cause I'm Canadian and know more Quebecois
Your lessons are really dynamics, not like french class, but i think the best way to learn french is to live in a "french speaking" country ( does that mean somrthing ? ) or to have a french friend with who you speak regularly !
In fact, you must put the definite article after the verb "aimer". It's an exception. Normally, you have to put the partitive article after a verb, but here just the definite one.
man i wish there was someone out there with your talent to be able to teach german because i really want to speak german.... anyways thankz for your help to take time off and teach... i really want to learn french before i graduate in 2012 so that i could put it in my ressame.
Guys please check out my French videos. Thanks

@Infinitygirl28 no actually neither french is like english or english is like french.. both english and french have the same root which is LATIN.. so all of the languages that have roots similar to like spanish, french , english and many more.. they all come from the root of latin anyways.. i love the video its pretty cool :)
iloveaga1 1 year ago
@iloveaga1 lol nah. English isnt a latin language at all. it's a germanic language. it tooks a lot of normand - french - latin words so it sounds a bit like a romance (latin) language.

@Infinitygirl28 English is more like German than French, it's a mixture of the two languages actually but tha happened nearly 1000 years ago when the two languages merged.
MrLEEMS 1 year ago
@MrLEEMS ah? do you have a proof of that?
I agree that English is a germanic language and got a lot of french influance. but how Englsih is more german than french?
Infinitygirl28 1 year ago
@Infinitygirl28 Well, I'll go over to how our language originated then. Back in 1066 a norseman (frenchman) by the name of William the Conquerer came to saxon england where they spoke a language very similar to german William defeated the only other heir to the throne and took england for his own. His own French language got mixed in with the Saxon language and English was born. So english started out as a german language, then had some french thrown in. Also our conjugation is more like german
MrLEEMS 1 year ago
@MrLEEMS *cough cough* what?! William the Conquor was Normand!! not norse. HOW normand language looks like a germanic language! It definately is a dialect of old French.
the Anglo-Saxon was germanic people and then William, the normand came and brought a lot of his dialect into the language. I can't compare cause i dont know any germanic language. Yes the conjugasion is more german. theres a lot of duo system in englsih language:
Infinitygirl28 1 year ago
@Infinitygirl28 lol potato potawto. I think it really isn't either anymore. It's changed over the many many years it has existed and will always be changing :P oh and pardon me the norse/normandy I learned about he battle of hastings about 2 years or so ago and I know too much about vikings so that got mixed in there I guess.
MrLEEMS 1 year ago
@MrLEEMS i really dont know what english is more like german or french but it definately a mix of both.
and yes. the region of France in that time was invaded by vikings so we also have a lot of germanic words like colours.
Infinitygirl28 1 year ago
@MrLEEMS german system: big, bigger, biggest.
french system: more beautiful. most beautiful
german: once, twice
french: three time, four time....
german: my brother's car
french: the car of my brother
ect. ect.

Careful! Look at the spelling of the two phrases.

J'aime jouer du piano. (I like playing the piano.)

@thefrenchguy3000 ok thanks man =) btw im a total beginner. like totally. any idea where to start learning french? like how do those primary school teachers in france teach it? =P
thegoonist 1 year ago
@thegoonist If you are good with self-instruction, simply pick up any beginner's guide to French. Try to get one with a CD for listening comprehension. Eventually, you will want to either enroll in a class, or take private lessons (even if for only a few months). If you're diligent, you'll absorb the language over time. It does take a lot of practice though. Keep in mind that speaking it regularly with people who already speak it is key.

Your lessons are really dynamics, not like french class, but i think the best way to learn french is to live in a "french speaking" country ( does that mean somrthing ? ) or to have a french friend with who you speak regularly !
Vjun01 1 year ago
You're 100% right. Speaking French regularly with people who already speak
French is the only way to fluency. It's the same for any language.

In fact, you must put the definite article after the verb "aimer". It's an exception. Normally, you have to put the partitive article after a verb, but here just the definite one.
J'aime l'argent.
