i have a 93 325i e36 sedan with an aftermrket head unit, i thought i set everything up right but when i try to listen to subs the amp turns on for about 5 seconds, then turns off then on then into protect mode and repeat, it makes my subs "pulse" i thought i grounded everything and did everything right. but is there also a stock amp in my car also? i have no idea whats wrong, subs are not blown, idk about the amp tho plz help!
@tekniikzX420 I'm sorry it's very difficult to diagnose such problems here. A local professional shop is likely to be most helpful. Yes you do have a factory amp for the speakers by the way. If you have purchased a product from Bavarian Soundwerks please contact the tech support ph or email at our site. Good luck!
@tekniikzX420 Try unplugging your speaker wires and tracing them back, make sure if the protect mode turns on you unplug the battery and wait a minute before trying again, my Amp continually cycled like that when i had mixed up the positive or negative wires of my front two speakers, the moment i unpluged them though the problem went away and i could listen again; so its fairly easy to discover a problem, maybe your subs have been wired wrong?
@bavsound What if i decide to install the aftermarket amp and sub without using Loc will it harm my system. Can I just tap into those signal wires and turn on wire and run them straight to amplifier will that work ok.
I have a 2003 E39 530i... it has DSP... the amp you have is different then mine... do I follow the way you did to the harness ? also do I follow your wire colors ? brown-orange (-) / blue-black (+)(Right Rear) and brown-orange(-) / yellow-black (+) (Left Rear)
these wires on my car on the same hardness as yours but its towards front of the car....
and the White wire for remote is located on the hardness is located in the back harness.
hey. thanks for the video, now im stuck and need to ask... dont have the amp that u have shown in that car. i have a 523i, 1999 model but no where in the boot have i seen any like that. could you help with how i can wire up my amp and sub or what wires i need to find. thank you
Halston told me what a LOC is. Line Output Converter and which one was used in the vid. SoundGate LOC Pro. Why was the front input tapped into rather than the rear?
All of your videos are great! You guys provide so much info that I just can't wait to work on my car. I've spent hours searching forums on how to do this amp install. This video is perfect. One question, what does LOC stand for?
What are the two different harnesses for that plug into the amp?
Looks like one harness controls the front and rear mids, and the other controls the tweeter and power/remote connections, but im not sure.
Thanks, Andrew

Heard these LOC's create alot of outside noise.....Is there a premium one that wont?
BastardRevolver 1 year ago
@BastardRevolver The LOCs we provide with relevant kits have been chosen for their low-noise and compatibility with BMW wiring.

SoulMusicians 11 months ago
@SoulMusicians It depends on the preamp of your amplifier. It may work but it could also fry your components. It's more risky to not use an LOC.

Question: Why is all most bundles of wire in a car covered with fuzzy tape?
Davaith 3 years ago
To stop them rubbing and shorting out I would guess.
