@lastEvergreen Yeah that 9mm out of the handgun isn't going too fast, man. The delay with my .22lr Walther P22 in my other video where I shoot it at 100 yards too is pretty crazy! It's not as hard as you'd think to make hits on a silhouette size target with a Glock 19 at 100yds. Just use fundamentals and you can ring it all day. It's definitely Not as easy with the P22 though, especially with crap ammo. I discovered that day just how much a difference quality ammo an make with .22 LR!
People, bullets can ricochet off of ANYTHING, including water. Trees, rocks, cars, walls, etc. AND water. Geez if you're paranoid about richochets then you might as well not be shooting at all, considering you could get a richochet off of anything your heart desired if you really wanted to. I bet I could get a richochet off of this computer screen. So shut up about the freakin water >.<
Anyways, that was fantastic shooting, especially considering how windy it was!
Hell, there is no one out there if it did richcet. Like I said sergeant, good shooting. You have some excellect skills. I am retired military, I know.
nice shootin man. I'm in the army and appreciate your prior service. Some of these fucktards on youtube think they're hot shit shooters, when in reality all they've ever shot at was a fcking silhouette! For everyone thats flaming you for shooting over water, they are fcking idiots. Theres like a 1 in million chance of some shit like that happening! Thinking they're scientists ballistic experts.
@MrJstub Ha! Thanks brother, couldn't have said it better myself! There are those of us that "get it," and others who just don't and can't (and likely never will). You and I come from a different world though, man.
@RetreatHell , sick ass fuckin guns on that table. The AR is epic. I want the same setup but "technically" pansy ass CA wont let me have a silencer or 30 rounder.
@watwat79 I Seriously Doubt it is legal to Shoot Deer or Elk from a boat.Especially not with a High Powered Rifle. I bet if you were to talk with a Game warden about that - he'd have you arrested. Seriously , check your Laws.
@xtraflo I seriously doubt you even know what the fuck you're talking about. Take 2 seconds and search "moose hunting from a boat" on youtube and you'll see it you fucking moron.
So long as you have a legitimate target downrange (and a backstop if at gun range), you've got good dope on your gun/optic & know both the capabilities of your gun AND your shooting ability with particular said gun (like me in this video), there's absolutely nothing wrong with shooting across a body of water! This is a private range, tens of thousands of rounds are fired over this water each year without incident. For fuck sake, it's perfectly safe!
Is that a Gen 4? Just FYI, I just got my G19 Gen 4 and called Glock as soon as I got home with it, and asked them to send me the 04 recoil spring. It comes with the 03 for the G23 and the 19 has trouble with the 115 grain ammo. Some people don't have that problem? The rep asked if I has experienced a prob, and I said No, just preparing in case I want to shoot 115 gr ammo cause its cheaper. I shoot primarily 124 and 148 grain. I've shot 220 rds, no issues. Great site man.
Nice shooting, as usual! You've inspired me to get out there and try it, too. I've done okay with the PX4 at that range, but so far our new Glock 19 has only been tried on gummi bears at 7 yards.
@xtraflo Now how would you know if that part of the hill isn't barricaded off????? I bet the guy in the vid knows. Bullets skip across water, like a kid throwing rocks. To test bullets people shoot at buckets of water all the time. Bullets, regardless of cal, will only go but a few inches in. I have shot at gators my whole life and NEVER saw a bullet ricochet. They do skip however.
@cursivedragon Okay - For one, youre wrong about Bullets not ricocheting off of Water. Everyone who has Ever Taken a Gun saftey course has been taught that. Also, There's No Way to predict how far up a Bullet will Vear off off water, without some sort of Tracer Round - or unless you have Some Superior Eyesight.
Another thing, look over to the Left of that Hill, Dont you see Lights or Whatever those Are - now Look at the Rifle this man has sitting out. That bullet would travel a couple miles...
@xtraflo Look up bullet projectiles. His aim would have to be really high for it to travel miles. Second I have skipped bullets. Not going out for thta purpose but it has happened and I have seen more than one splash. People teach you shit that's damn near inpossible to happen. Eg. Don't use cellphones when gasing up vehicle cause you'll explode or catch fire. People with pacemakers shouldn't be around microwaves. Sitting too close to TV's can blind you. Etc, etc, etc.
@xtraflo Those lights could be from anything. They could be to help people see that far off. They could be lights to an abandoned closed off lot, coal mine, strip mine, etc.
@cursivedragon Also - Shooting in to a Bucket of Water, is not like Shooting across it. If youre shooting Gators or whatever - depending at what distance you are, say - - 25meters or So, that bullet has plenty of potential to vear off - to god knows where. IF you tried right now, to skip a bullet across the water - you would see One Splash, and thats it - you would probably Never know where it lands......
@xtraflo That's really ALL you got out of this video? "Don't shoot across water?".... Really, man?
Shooting over water at a target downrange as I'm doing in this video is perfectly fine. Shooting AT water is another story. This is a gun range set up for doing exactly what I'm doing in the vid, albeit intended for rifles though, not really pistols. But the range owner knows I'm a good shot and that I know what I'm doing, so he trusts me to do such things. Everything in the vid is perfectly safe.
@RetreatHell Oh - and by the way, your question to "Really, is that ALL i got out of this Video" - Yes, I can also shoot a target with a Glock 19 or a S&W M&P at 100yards. The shot groups vary of course, but can hit most rounds inside a human Silouette. Just takes Practice. What struck me immediately was, Why the Hell is he shooting that far accross water? Isn't there a safter place to shoot?
@RetreatHell Man, I agree with you! These safety Sallie's out there have nothing better to do than correct every one they see! Like sticking your finger in the breech to make sure there's not a round in there! I don't stick my finger in there. If I can't trust my eyes I shouldn't be shooting, AND, if there IS a round in there after I've pulled the slide back, then I have a failure to eject problem! Good shooting friend. I just got my G19 Gen 4 less than a week ago, Shot 200 rds, Accurate!
@oldairforcedudeI'm glad everyone's not like you, I'd rather be a safety sally than a person who accidently shoots someone because they don't care about gun safety.
Just by you going around and posting your jibberish, you are feeding into the anti-gun people out there, they're going to read your post and use it to fuel their fire.
@xtraflo Additionally, I don't know what this "Gun Safety 101" is that you speak of, as I've never attended such a thing. The US Marine Corps taught me the 4 weapon safety rules, & everything else I know about shooting, 9 years ago next month. And I'm very proud to say that during the past 9 years since I was a Marine recruit in boot camp, I've never shot a single human being that I didn't INTEND to shoot in the first place. And trust me, those fuckers had it coming and got what they deserved ;)
@RetreatHell My family owned a Gun Shop. I grew up Shooting since I could walk. Gun Saftey 101 that I'm referring to, is a civillian gun course that teaches someone the risks before going out, buying a High Powered rifle and start Hunting. One of the Major Aspects of that course is, Not to Shoot Across Water.
I was also in the Military - and what ever 4 major rules of Saftey the Marine Corps taught you - I'm not impressed with.
Lastly, Not many folks INTEND to shoot an innocent victim.
@SurvivorRye Do you have a source/link from an official Canadian Government website to back that up? If that's actually even partially true, does that mean duck hunting and other hunting of water fowl is illegal and doesn't exist there? I know nothing of Canada's gun laws, so I need proof to believe some law as retarded as this one that you brought up actually exists.
Also, fast moving projectiles can & DO skip and ricochet off damn near any surface & material if struck at the necessary angle.
@RetreatHell Sorry I should have been more specific. You can use shotguns to hunt over water, as we do have a lot of waterfowl up here, and I'm pretty sure that you can't use sabots or slugs while hunting over water. I can't find a link to the source but it's in my Canadian Firearms Safety book somewhere.
I'm no expert, but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night.
This is why the Navy SEALs, Coast Guard snipers who disable ship engines, and the list goes on never shoot across water. Looks at the stats of how many SEALs have accidentally killed their team members during training. (heavy sarcasm off)
@oevzA1oL Theyre training in a controlled environment. And to use the Navy Seal sniper situation where they actaully have to use force toward an enemy is a Whole different situation. Take ur Sarcasm and stick it up your ass. BTW-Have u ever served a day in the military>???
Yes I have, USAF Desert Shield/Storm veteran thank you but that is not germane to the discussion at hand. Lets set the name calling and sarcasm aside and say that you need to assess supposed 'high risk situations' and assess how much risk was in this video. He appeared to be taking proper precautions.
There are so many factors in calculating ricochet risk such as bullet construction, angle, velocity, temperature, projectile shape, spin rate and list goes on.
@oevzA1oL For you to say he appeared to be taking proper precautions, negates the entire mention that He Is Shooting Over Water.....That being Unsafe.
Another thing, How do you know - No Seals have had any deaths during training. Im willing to bet there have plenty to count. Maybe not from Water ricochet'd bullets - but that really doesnt matter with this video.
Problem is - He Has a Rifle sitting there as well, which is Much more dangerous to think about...
Re-read what I wrote, first it was with heavy sarcasm and second I didn't state none have died, you derived that based on projecting quite a bit into a sarcastic statement. Soldiers die in training often, it is the nature of being in the military.
It appears you do not want to discuss facts but instead continue on with your viewpoint which thus far seems to be lacking in any evidence...best wishes to you.
@ibanezkid07 Actually, I believe that YouTuber Hickok45 has shot his 9mm and .40 cal Glocks even further than that, like over 200 yards or something crazy like that. So I ain't got nothing on that guy! lol!
@ibanezkid07 IMHO the Glock 19 is the perfect size handgun, and is by far my favorite handgun out there today hands-down.
As for your question about my sights, I'm not sure exactly what you're asking here, man (sorry). When you say "raise the front sight," what are you referring to? The sights on my G19 are non-adjustable fixed sights. They're actually Meprolights 3-dot tritium night sights, but I'm changing them out to the Warren Tactical sights with a plain black rear and tritium front.
@RetreatHell i mean instead of lining your sights up correctly. just raising the front a little above the rear sights to compensate for bullet drop. or do you just aim above the target?
@ibanezkid07 Oh okay, gotcha! I was wondering if that's what you meant.
Actually I didn't compensate at all for elevation, just windage. I simply aimed at the high center chest. I missed the first 8-9 shots, then asked my friend where my rounds were impacting and he said to the right of the target... Go figure, the wind was blowing from left to right, so obviously I needed to compensate for the high winds. So I aimed slightly left, and then started connecting with almost every shot.
100 yards using a pistol in that wind, very impressive. Great video. I've shot targets at that range with my Beretta 92fs, but never tried in windy conditions like these.
@MegaGewehr2 It's a great confidence booster to know you can make combat effective hits on target at that distance. As for the malfunction, it actually went back into battery by itself right after I let the trigger reset, it was just REALLY sluggish. But it threw me off b/c that's only the 2nd time I've had that happen, so I did a quick brass check. I didn't realize just how dry it was though. I would normally just add more Slip 2000 EWL, but being my HD gun I figured I'd go ahead and clean it.
@RetreatHell Man, what is it with people and Slip 2000? Might have to give it a try.
I noticed that my PPS won't go into battery when the trigger is pulled back and I slowly let the slide move forward, but when I reset the trigger the slide moves forward. The same thing occasionaly happens with my buddie's G36.
That said I like running pistols dry for the first 500 or so rounds to break them in. At least running a Glock dry & dirty does 0% damage to 'em.
@GunWebsites Thanks! It's a private range. Really great place to shoot that's primarily geared towards realistic and practical personal defense training, and the skill of fighting with the gun (of any variety) in general. It functions on the honor system in regard to safety, where shooters are their own range safety officers. Mostly this is good, but sometimes not so much. Occasionally there are idiots (some with full auto guns) that do stupid shit though. But if caught they are banned.
I want to point out that I cut the first 55 seconds of this video b/c I thought it was boring. Due to the strong crosswind blowing from left to right, my first 5 shots missed. I ceased fire and asked my buddy where I was hitting. He told me my impacts were about 6 inches to the right of the target. That's where this video starts. I compensated just a hair to the left and my first shot was a hit. So counting the first 5 misses, a total of 8 out of 14 shots actually connected with the target.
@Garuda1337 Thanks. I have a Glock 17 and a 26 too, but the 19 is my favorite because it feels the best in my hand and is the perfect size for me. I shoot the G19 and 26 much more than my 17.
Huh I wouldn't have expected that much of a delay, but what would i know it's probably all legit.

I think your failure to return to battery was faulty ammo and not the dirty gun, great shooting by the way!

Damn, hearing a lot of pings from 100 yards! Awesome, always good to see someone prove that hanguns are good past 25 yards.
Secondly, never seen a Glock jam before! Oh well, nothing some CLP can't fix.

RetreatHell 1 year ago
@RetreatHell Man, what is it with people and Slip 2000? Might have to give it a try.
I noticed that my PPS won't go into battery when the trigger is pulled back and I slowly let the slide move forward, but when I reset the trigger the slide moves forward. The same thing occasionaly happens with my buddie's G36.
That said I like running pistols dry for the first 500 or so rounds to break them in. At least running a Glock dry & dirty does 0% damage to 'em.

Good shooting..
I get more jealous of your shooting range every time I watch yer vids, LOL.
I wish we had a nice 100 yard spot to shoot like that.
Is that a public range, or private?
GunWebsites 1 year ago
@GunWebsites Thanks! It's a private range. Really great place to shoot that's primarily geared towards realistic and practical personal defense training, and the skill of fighting with the gun (of any variety) in general. It functions on the honor system in regard to safety, where shooters are their own range safety officers. Mostly this is good, but sometimes not so much. Occasionally there are idiots (some with full auto guns) that do stupid shit though. But if caught they are banned.

Great videos and nice shooting man!

Very nice! Any reason you picked the 19 over the 17?
Garuda1337 1 year ago
@Garuda1337 Thanks. I have a Glock 17 and a 26 too, but the 19 is my favorite because it feels the best in my hand and is the perfect size for me. I shoot the G19 and 26 much more than my 17.
