  • the guy who was scared of escalators plays the dream lord in dr who.

  • 1st band i ever saw live.. top song

  • I did so much extasy listening to this paticular album in the 90's. No group does it better.

  • i have been listening to gomez since '98 and whenever i hear certain songs they bring back soooooo many memories. a lot of it is being super high or stoned. haha. love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! wish they would come to the states!!!!!!! (more often)

  • Southport's finest after Marc Almond

  • Gomez remind me of my summer 2 years ago. The first time i listiened to them i was high out of my brains and they found a way to reach me. They've influenced me and my band a lot in our music. I'd love to hear what Gomez fans think. Search

An Island's View - Quentin Tarantino

An Island's View - Orange Juice

  • Every time I hear this song it makes me want to break free from the monotony of wake, eat, work, work, work, work, eat, work, work, work, sleep.

But then economic reality hits, and I have to go back to the grind.

  • isn't that toby jones?

  • ye i think so

  • I just saw them in August, they were opening for Pearl Jam in Berlin and London...great band!!!

  • I saw them opening for Pearl jam in Manchester Arena... they were fantastic!!!! (both bands!)

  • mike gommeringer is my cousin

  • Very awesome song =] Im happy for knowing this band

  • Gomez please come back down under

  • They'll be here in October! A-WHOO!!!!

  • damn!!! these guys are unique!!!

    cool!!

  • This gotta be one of the best videos of all time for real.

  • now i dont care what anybody says this is a great song!!! havent heard it in years! might have to do a jam over it now!!

  • man do i rememeber hearing this so much in late 98 and through 99 wow that long ago but can stilllisten too it today with ease.

  • for all the devout gomez fans.....i just heard them on the radio and wanna give them a shot. what's their best/most popular songs?

  • Best songs - Nothing Is Wrong, Hamoa Beach, Ruff Stuff, Silence, Caravan, many more. Just saw them a couple nights ago and they put on a great show.

  • Out of the stuff I found on Youtube, I like Silence, Ruff Stuff, How we Operate, and Airstream Driver the best, aside from this one.

  • I like these a lot

    See the world

    Tijuana Lady

    All too much

    Rex Kramer

  • gomez will forever be my favorite band. Been with them since the begining and will be there till the end.

  • gomez on tour around uk april

  • Booked a flight for a short trip to NYC from the UK to see Gomez on the 03/31 and they've sold out.... Nightmare...

Some tout bastard is selling 12 tickets on ebay for $75 each.

    Touts should be stopped.

  • Is that toby jones in the video?

  • I love how the guy legs it with the tenner at the end

  • Well in that case tell me if theyre drummer ever leaves and il be more than happy to fill in hehe. seriously tho :)

  • sick video aswell as song :]

  • J'adore Gomez, I like it, unfortunetly I think the band came only once in Montréal. Its my favorite band, the first album is the best.

  • such a cute song i really like it

  • I love the way this little anthem builds up with each verse!

  • Gotta agree with supersix52. Saw them at The Metro in Sydney Saturday night. Brilliant! So is 'Whippin Piccadilly', an early classic!

  • gomez r fukn shithot classic song

  • I much prefer hard rock to indie rock - but this is a good song. Go Gomez Go!! Brings back memories of the 90's good times!! fashion etc.

are these guys famous nowadays or not?

  • I KNOW THE GUITAR GUY

  • U.K Indie Classic. 10/10 Go Gomez Go....... Check Out Chin&Tindog On Youtube.

  • Why isn't there more gomez on youtube?

  • how much more gomez do u want like

  • bravi Gomez!!!

  • wow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

  • Lest we forget

  • cool

  • who is the singer for this song. he's way better than the eddie vedder soundalike

  • the singer, in this song is Ian, and the Ediie Vedder Soundalike you mention, I suppose you mean Ben.... I´m sorry, but I think, no offense to Ian, Ben has one of the most unique voices in music....

  • what other songs does Ball sing on?

  • he sings parts of many of other songs, like "devil will ride" , "rythm´n blues alibi"...

  • The best representations of his voice are this song, In Our Gun, and Rhythm & Blues Alibi.

  • nice

  • grandissimi gomez...beautiful band

  • 'Save Thyself' Hahaha.. very clever video. This band really knows their stuff. =) Its so refreshing.

  • a really good band. love their song "see the world"

  • I LOVE Gomez! One of the best bands I've heard in years.

  • Hey Christine, Where you from in Dalmarnock?

  • timeless...and they still have a loyal following, me being one of them! Ben Ottewell has got one of the best live voices i have ever heard, and i'm a live music junkie!

  • You need to get out more lol

  • As if the UK charts are a good judge of what's good music. Most bands these days have two albums and flop. These Lads seem to be constantly touring. How many one hit wonders can do that after 10 years?

  • Still a wicked tune though.

  • love the vid, love the song and first time actually seen what the guys look like cant

    wait to see them live.

    Christine in Glasgow

  • hey any1 know when they next comin' to glasgow??respond ASAP!!

  • Just seen these Lads last night in Newcastle on their Bring it on Tour. They never cease to amaze. True musicians. The crowd and the band enjoyed ever minute of it.

  • I'm sad I've never caught em but I'll make a point to seek em out if they come even slightly near where I live I'll get tickets!

  • They played a couple of new songs after they played the Bring it on set, so they must be working on a new album. I think How we operate was released in May of 2006 and they done a UK tour to promote it, so they'll probably tour for their next album. Their definitely worth traveling to see if they don't come anywhere near you. I seen them at Newcastle, Sheffield, London and T in the Park in 06 and they were different each time. Ben done a solo acoustic tour early this year which was a treat.

  • the guy like Capote could be Tom from Hollyoaks in a few years time!

  • hey, it's capote.

  • Great song! They are still going, they got gigs coming up soon xD I can't wait!

  • fantastic sound these lads had goin' on!

  • Good old times.

I remember a gig in Madrid in 1999: High Class

  • my old shroom music. love it

  • if anyone knows how to get this version for itunes PLEASE let me know, so much better than the album version

  • this IS the album version dude, theres a bit of distro on a few seconds but aside from that this is the same version. if you REALLY want to get this one download audacity and the wav out recorder driver or the freecorder toolbar.

  • Reminds me of the time I was driving trains in and out of Manchester Piccadilly. Great days, great song!

  • Yeh great song>>

  • hmmmm jay z? maybe not lol sorry hehe love gomwez tho!

  • Why is the video version different from the single version. It's so much better on here

    :-(

  • my thoughts exactly

  • I don't understand. Why dosen't the guy just

    step on to the escalator?

  • He probably has a phobia.

  • 'Escalaphobia?'

  • Possibly...

  • It could be many things. Namely:

    Altophobia - Heights

Bathmophobia - Stairs or steep slopes

Climacohobia - The act of climbing stairs

    Mechanophobia - Machines

    Stenophobia - Narrow places

  • hmmm... or perhaps he knew there where

rabid, frothing at the mouth crocodiles

escaped from the city zoo, eating anyone

    wearing a 2 peice suit...

So that would be a knew mental 'tick' or

    'disorder':

    I-don't-wanna-be-eaten-by-rabid-frothing-at-the-mouth-crocodiles-escaped-from-the-zoo-

    eating-anybody-wearing-a-two-piece-suit-a

    phobia

better be wary, could be an epidemic! ((O_O))

  • 2:20 onwards is just the best!

"there's not enough hours in our life"

  • Jesus if the Beatles were good... Thats a strong statement

  • great tune,i used to love em but they do degrade with quality from the first album, well me thinks anyway..!

  • Lets embrace change.... if they played the same style each album, and dont challegne themselves, they become just like the pepsi generation that is now....

  • Kind of reminds me of a British Beck. And I love Beck. Great song, I like this one

  • This is what I think the Beatles would have sounded like

    If the Beatles were good

  • Gee, this song brings back some very happy memories, thanks for posting!

  • Great song, thanks for posting, and great video, too - featuring the Brit actor Toby Jones, who went on to play Truman Capote in the film Infamous (the film that wasn't Capote; takes me back. One of the best songs to feature the word 'toilet'....

  • Cant wait to see them play this summer at Electric Picnic in Ireland. They are playing the whole album to celebrate its 10th birthday.

  • They could play the whole out takes album and still be awsome. Great band.

  • wow, 10 years!! great song tho, really uplifting :)

  • I lost my E virginity to it a few times--hey now!

  • Comment removed

  • does that make sense? im not sure it does...

oh well good on you, i think

  • Nice to see to see you on here. This is Andy. Got any new stuff? This is so much better than most of our fodder. Cheers guys. Love ya..Andy and Rio...Unlucky Fried Kitten.

  • reminds me of being a student.........................wait a minute? i was never a student, i got a job! magic song though!

  • Gomez; Brilliant

    Defiantly an Influential band

    especially on mine

  • such a class song, the ending is well funny haha

  • Bucket hats and curtains...and a middle class kid pretending to be working class...sums up the 90s beautifully.

  • Yeah, because middle class blokes have no right to dress a certain way and make seminal music?

    Fuck off!

  • Yes, they have the right, but then I'm more than happy to oblige and point out the tameness of the music and lyrics.

Seminal music? Haha! The 3-minute pop song..seminal! Good one!

  • I'm glad you find it tame... I'm glad you don't like it and have never had the opportunity of engaging your brain and listening to an album by them. I find class related comments very boring, and by extension find you quite boring.

I really hope you have a good weekend though.

  • what a sissy!

  • Ben Ottewell went to my old school; he is not middle class, trust me.

  • Sorry, my little brother got onto my account- I didn't write that comment- he's just trying to show off!

  • What a brilliant clip.

Only just started getting into Gomez.

  • any 1 got this on mp3 could u send it please thanks

  • Truman Capote's in the video!

  • I remember seeing this on The Chart Show on ITV in 1998 and immediately loving it and going out and buying the single. It remains one of my favourite songs. Timeless.

  • ah yes...the turbo version...with drums at d last chorus...genius!!

  • pick yourself up

  • nice voice. kinda like Bolan

  • amazing

  • absolutely awesome video! They're the best band ever!

  • this song is amazing common gomez

  • Does anyone know the name of the actor in this music video? He looks like Toby Jones...

  • Otra buena canción: Gomez - 78 Stone Wobble I was always told that you had to have a ball to break down, Now I'm older I'm not too sure. I was always told that you had to have a high to lowdown, An expert told me back in the war. Open hearted surgery never works, So eat your words or hide them in the dirt. 'Cos I don't need nobody to know me, I don't want nobody to know. I was always told that you had to have a ball to break down, Now I'm older I'm not too sure.
