  • god I have pretty much my body covered and that sounds very painful lol

  • eww yellow.. that dude should've gotten blue

  • @mexicanprincess13x

White or Yellow Tiger only. Blue will go for Dragon, not Tiger. Usually Yellow Tiger in Japan symbolizes the power of Shogun

  • @mexicanprincess13x when have u ever seen a blue tiger?

  • @Mrblu94 have you ever seen a DRAGON?

  • @schmendriks yeah when i look down my pants

  • It is not so painful as it seems! I got one of this (using Thai technique, similar to Japanese "tebori" technique) and in my opinion machine made tattoos are more painful...

  • diossss que cosa mas tremenda de tatuaje!!!!!!!!

  • How much for a piece how does one go about getting one??

  • Horiyoshi III is an amazing artist! I love the look of hand poked tattoos over using a standard gun, but doubt i could take the pain of it. Great vid!

  • no pain no gain

  • looks like this kind of tattoo hurt alot more than the normal 1~ but it looks really good~

  • hmmm

  • great art!!! looks fantastic, love it!

Gracias

  • fantastic, he is one of best tattoo artist in the world!

  • can a gun get similar results?

  • yes, you can get similair results... it is just a whole different technique

  • A piece of ART! The colors are so smooth, like a beautifull flow!

    What a Master!

  • I heard its mad expensive..but it's deff. worth it. Wish I could get a half sleeve from him.

  • wow incredible !

  • i love how these tattoos flow so smoothly from one part to the next all over the persons body. it goes to show how creative these tattoo artists are to come up with a whole piece in their head for a persons entire body. amazing.

  • No hacen falta mas palabras , es el mejor tatuador del mundo , ahi esta su trabajo

  • That is f***en amazing. Looks painful but the result is worth it.

  • it takes years to envelope the whole body plus tattoos are illegal in some parts of japan and it actually is allot less painless than a regular tattoos

  • Its illegal? I know that if you got a tat you cant go to onsen (public baths) and swimming pools n stuff

  • Some dude on the history channel got a dope ass tatoo from this same Jap and said it was like ten times more painful than a machine, but the results are that much greater

  • It can't possibly hurt less than with a gun...that has to hurt more. It is hard to believe that tattoos of this caliber can be done in this manner, it has to be way harder than using a machine

  • OMGaw the color on that is crazy

  • gorgeous :)

  • that must take forever but its totaly worth it

  • thats an incredible piece.

  • Horiyoshi the gr8!!!

  • i'm a tattoo freak!!....and yeah i did one of my tattoo in Bangkok the same way..and trust me it hurts like hell..BUT WORTH IT!!

  • He's the best there is.

  • true art

  • 810222: red dragon tattoo in Umea does it. and really good.

  • and in Spain???

  • is there anywhere Sweden that does this style?

  • q tatuaje mas arrecho!!!

  • been doing this work for the last 13 years ,remember you can numb the area with amitop cream ,leave for 1 hour and work ,this style hurts less than a machine beleive me ,its called irezumishi

  • what's the advantage/disadvantage over machine tattooing?

  • uh ouch?

  • funk me, thats incredible! reminds me of sumthing i saw in a buddhist temple with a huge long pole being used. insane

  • amazing technique .. horiyoshi is a true master of the art . thanks for this post.

  • Is there anywhere in England that does this style?

  • hi yes i have worked in japan ,im based in warrington cheshire my name is ash ,ive been tattooing for the last 13 years .

  • ..auuuua?!

  • The noise is coming from the needle puncturing the skin in multiple areas repeatedly.

  • effing bloody gorgeous

  • naw those are needle japan ppls use while puttin tattoo on..

  • absolutly amzing. incredible work!

  • amazing artwork and technique

  • It isn't a paintbrush. It is a row of needles.

That is really amazing, thank you for posting this!

I love his traditional style and the setting that he works in, it really makes for a feeling of importance.

  • hows that painfull its a paintbrush isnt it ?

  • it is painfull, and its not really a paintbrush .its like a paintbrush but its many little needles at the end with paint on it puncturing the skin.

  • same as a machine one except with more needles and slower

  • you use back and forth strokes with a paint brush

this guy is stabbing with needles

  • WOW...never seen him in action before. Amazing!! I think the noise is actaully the instrument rubbing on the glove.

  • That tattoo is wicked sweet!

  • that makes the dirtiest sound

  • horiyoshi is one of the best in the world! i like the traditional way of his work... looks awesome and i´m sure, it´s hurtful...

  • in the orient its not painful, they use their own painpaste combo and is not legal so its all underground, the tat work is impressive'

  • brillent

  • amazing!

  • wow thats amazing, this guy is truly a master. I would love to get one of these done in my lifetime, i have gotten 5 tattoos already, but i've always wanted one of these because of all the amazing history behind this form of tattooing.

  • man now thats wat i call art...but looks to painful to do

  • is that a needle?

  • for coloring, i believe they use many needles on the end of a single stick. I've read that they will use up to 30+ needles at a time.

  • yeah, it's a needle to paint, in the "most known" (with machines) way of tattoing that's called magnum

  • tht luks sooo gurd but it god it must hurt after awhile, it suprises me that there isn't lots of blood due to all the stabbing

  • wow that looks so good, but that looks like it hurts....

  • This is beautiful, tradcitional Japanese tattooing is a dying artform.

  • u can here the flesh ripping

    nice tho

  • In chine or japan these Tattos cost not more than in europe or in Usa. Tattoos were invented in China thousands of years ago. But the Traditional Tattoo Hurts very Much:)

  • now this takes an tattoo artist. Very steady hands, I wonder if it costs more or less than getting a normal type done here in the USA

  • great work, its one of my dreams to get such a great pic by a traditional artist.

  • auch like shit

  • That is a beautiful tattoo.. probly took a while to do.

  • el es el maestro de los tatuajes japoneses. Viene de un Dinastia de artistas de tauuage tradicional japones y tiene un librbro fenomenal.

  • Wow.. awesome tattoo..but does i t hurt more or less than

    european style tattoos?

  • i wonder how long they took to finish that tattoo. that dude has skills

  • stunning work

  • hurts more traditional from traditional

  • i think its beautiful

  • so what if it costs you your life...in your will write down that at the wake you wanna be naked and face down so that people can see what you died for^^ sweeeeet

  • Comment removed

  • Horiyoshi is a god amongst artists.

  • perfect

  • owww... didn`t hurt that

  • WOW! The artist is awesome. Thats gotta be thousands of dollars on that guys back.

  • thats one massive tatt cast a bit no doubt

  • this is an art!tattoos also donot have to bleed, the ink needs to be in the skin not the bloodstream! excellent art. thanks for posting the clip.

  • Jesus, you all are so retarded. Just watch the video and shut up!

  • happyness

  • that takes a lot of skill to do that considering how its not a gun..

  • Damn that's a huge tattoo. He won't even need a shirt, he can just wear his tattoo.

  • i reather a tatto like that because it comes out better

  • thats so good, imagine the ammount of visits though, fuck, that would of been easy 2 - 3 years. worth it though

  • yo lo haria pero no quiero

  • Don't know why he isn't bleeding some, I always have wuth the guns

  • i tink guns are much faster.

  • none of you have a clue what you are talking about

  • fucked up bullshit - tattos are bullshit

  • oh ok thanks!

  • dumb

  • hah, fundie.

  • why are you watching this if you dont like tattos?

  • i want a small tattoo n i'm shit scared how did he manage that? did he get that done all in one go?

  • Small tattoos are good to take. I´s not that hard. This piece is very detailed and large and can take up to a year or longer cause it has to heal in between the sessions. I get my back done with maschine right now and eventhough my artist is fast it takes about 25 hours..

  • tattoos dont hurt that much its a nice pain and very very addictive

  • the guy being tattoed is yakuza ,japanese mafia. the needle is actually many small silk needles, he has diffrent shaped things to tatoo with , in this video he's applying colour so the "brush" is wide , if he was making a line the "brush" would have been thin, manymany tiny needles collected in a shape

  • cmon stop worshipin hollywood bro

  • when it pierces. And the tattoo artist is fucking brilliant.

  • whats that song itmakes?

  • I like that atmoshpere... and the persian rug matches the tattoo nicely

  • a real tattoo artist, tradition ways make it look so much better

  • For all you people who dont understand how this works... It's the traditional way of tattooing before the modern day "gun". It's basicaly a stick with fine needles on the end that are forced into layers of skin with ink on it. Kapeesh!!!

  • yeah, its small needles on that paintbrush.

  • fuck dude i got 4 tattoos my self they hurt allot well one of them did but that shit hurts like mother fucker cus its old school and its bad ass

  • I´m a tattoo artist by myself and I got plenty ink on me. Jack Mosher handpoked my enrire chest within one setting and compared with other tattoos it was nothing at all. Because the machines vibration you feel the pain in a larger area. Handpoking is more on the spot. Anyway, pain is only existing in your mind so learn how to meditate and it´s all good.. Peace

  • without pain tattooing would loose its charm....however Jack Mosher in Kalamazoo is a cool one..

  • ...simply amazing...

  • TO piercer69, no its not paint, the dude is getting the ink stabbed into him

  • its inspireing i would love the rush and the relaxtion of that style of permanent art:>

  • Brilliant,just fking brilliant

  • omfg.. u crazy?

  • I dont get it...i dont get how it works..just looks like he is painting it on with a paint brush....or are they like a billion needles in that paint brush thing?

hmm looks absolutly amazing though. its huge..aw so detailed..i love it

  • I dont understand, did he paint it on? n e way its Grate!!

  • The brush actually has little spikes on the bottom and is pretty much, stabbing the ink into the skin. Instead of a fast little eletric needle like modern day tattooing, they use little wooded spikes, or needles, and continually stab the skin with ink. Its oldschool but VERY beautiful!

  • japanese people dont fuck around when it comes to tattoos bad ass

its more painful the old school way

  • respects!!!this king of tattoo culture.Beautiful

  • That looks absolutely amazing.

  • is this guy dope?

  • bad ass tattoo, respect

  • fabulous.... awsome...beautiful...painful... I'd love one similar. Total respect.

  • Oh my god it is so beautiful, it looks painful, but it also looks worth it (btw how does he get it so perfect from so far away? lol)

  • Beautiful:)

  • ,,it' an old japanese tradition....it's more painfull....i'd prefer the tattoo machine...

  • soo beautiful

  • wow i bet that was really painful but the tattoo is beautiful

  • real body-art

    awesome!!!

  • It's slow but you don't have that irritating buzzing noise of an electric needle. I can't believe he's doing it on his knees.

  • That is amazing! It takes a lot of precision to do that...it looks so pretty. Not so must as a tatto but as a picture.

  • fantasic.but i bleed like hell when i had my tat

  • thts so cool, colour is amazing

  • Was that a paint brush or some kinda needle? O.o Pretty...

  • It's a needle. It's the way alot of ancient cultures tattoo like in hawiai and japan. It's painfull and slow, but the more time taken in it helps ink out some amazing tats.

  • beautiful

  • Amazing!!

  • Phenomenal tattoo, but it hurts just to watch!

  • omg...awsome..

  • damn...nice...

  • That looks so fucking nice! That has got to hurt like hell. SWEET!

  • thats japanese status!!..thats shit is way more fuccin skillfull!!!

  • haha yeah, thats like somewhere else :]

  • Don't know if some tattoists in North America use this technique.

  • yes
