Seems pretty inefficient. Why not put the electrodes closer together? This would significantly lower the resistance, allowing you to make more product and less heat.
hello :) could you please tell me what is the metal that is connected to the anode and the cathode please, also would a aluminum cathode and stainless steel anode work ? i make potassium chlorate useing graphipe anodes but it turns the product black :( would useing aluminum and stainless steel as cathode and anode prevent this ? look forward for your reply thankyou :)
@111alien111 For chlorates you probably need an MnO2 anode, otherwise it will corrode. Cathode doesn't matter AS MUCH (definitely still matters), but you probably want platinum for better efficiency and less corrosion. I assume the electrodes in the video are platinum (platinum-plated, that is) and MnO2, they're the right color and it would make sense.
Is it possible to use a cell that involves a salt bridge between two containers??? This way, if I use a graphite anode, all the crapy black dust will stay in one beaker & some chlorate in the other. Is my reasoning good???

Hello, I have a question! I have a cell that uses stainless steel cathodes and an MMO anode. with an ATX power supply. But everytime I run the electrolysis, the water becomes a very clear green. I then try to make potassium perchlorate though double decomp with KCl, but nothing precipitates... Any advice?
Hi, I recently acuired some decent anodes, and cathode like the ones you are using, my question is with the shape of my cell body and placement of the holes. It is the same volume but the container is square, same height and pretty much width. Do you believe that it would still be ok at 1/2 an inch from the sides or do you recommend further in. Any reply would be much appreciated.
Hi This cell is for producing kclo3-kclo4, starting base is KCL. thats where the clorine gas comes from. for an mmo cell you would use either baking soda or potassium hydroxide ( lye) co chlorine produced. the video has a 10 minute time limit thats why its fast moving.
Great video. Also you may want to use "Crazzy Glue" to seal the two piece top at the connecting round seams, they are just press fitted in place, not sealed. They tend to leak after some use. Also the stock gasket will leak after use so I use a double one made from shelf liner bought at Walmart. or one thick black gasket made from material at Harbor Freight as seen in some of my videos. Thanks for sharing your information with us.

there r 2 errors
first : u cant use epoxy it will errode by chlorine
second the outlet cant be a hose it must be a tube as u r using hard glue , the hose is flexable and will lose bonding with the hard glue

nice vid, just wondering if theres anywhere you can salvage a mmo anode from ?

I think it's funny how you continued to talk when you kept the torch going xD
Waste of fuel

nice and easy way
make the scape hose longer so you can atatch it a bubler (aquariom ones) and put it under cold water water
free hcl , depending on water temperature (cooler = bigger temperature) you can get even more than 40% hcl

Good product. I think you & I have met but I won't say any more...
However I have a question: what do you think about Silicone caulking for a sealant?

hello my NaClO3 cell, emits a strong smell of gas cl. Is very toxic? Is it harmful?
NITROMETHANO 2 years ago
Cl2 is toxic. Its emission should stop when the pH of the cell electrolyte stabilyzes at 10-11.
extrasonic 2 years ago
Chlorine gas is what they used in WW1, it's highly toxic

Went to your website and found scant information. -What is the chemistry?
I mean this kindly!
I am a scientist. Genuinely want to know!!!
Mind sharing the volume of HHO production per minute of your cells?
What does the chlorine gas do to an aluminum engine (or how do you capture it?)
This video is so short /fast paced it might as well be "How to Build the Space Shuttle" using my 2 minute tutorial.
You obviously are extremely intelligent.
=A little more info, PLEASE!

Bob, Thanks. After doing more research, I found what the "goal" was. All made sense, then.
I am sure a very useful setup for those into your hobby.
Thanks for suffering a fool!
