  • Merci beaucoup pour ce très bon tutoriel !

Dommage que ça ne soit pas sous titré, parce que j'ai du mal à tout comprendre des fois. Mon anglais étant très mauvais !

  • @grunbel Je ne parle pas français

  • @GirlPainting It's a pity whether it is not under titled in English. Because I have difficulty in understanding everything with the audio.

In any case, very good explanation. Thank you very much

Ps: sorry if my English is bad

  • this has helped me a lot

  • thanks for the awesome tutorial, keep up the good work miss!

  • 25 minutes for a single Core model in a horde army. It's the GirlPainting way!

  • Wow realy nice paint job you got there tnx for posting all your videos and kepp doing that!

  • This has been a big help just started a Skaven army myself and was not looking forward to how detailed I normally go on troops with 150+ Clanrats

  • hi alexandra, paint more fantasy dammit! ;D who cares about 40k :P (i dont)

would love to see some more high elves, skaven, chaos og beastmen or stuff like that ;D just fantasy in general..

  • Im actually in love with her voice now

  • Her tutorials are really starting rub off on me, love it. The voice still makes me giggle.

  • Hey GP :P Awesome tutorial, for the Skin / Fur, I tend to basecoat with 50:50 Tallarn Flesh and Bestial Brown. and then wash with Ogryn flesh and highlight the hands with Tallarn flesh and the fur with bestial.

  • AWESOME VIDEO!!! SHOW US MORE!!!!!!!!!

  • That was an amazing tutorial on painting fast gaming pieces. i always take way to long painting my peices & get disheartened because i have way too many to paint

  • Humming u like comments.

  • I see everyone of the proes uses some kind of old Gw painting pot's backside or top and use some kind of weird material so you can set your minnature on it and its easy to paint and rotate without touching the minature. What are that thing that holds the minaturebase onto the old paint pot's end or top?

  • This is a nice tutorial I went a little out of my way to get they a little higher quality. I have 40 of my 240 done. Kind of regreting wanting them to look nicer.

  • I feel like you never mess up hhahahhaha - is there a technique you use to keep your hands steady?

  • I love the detail and time put into your tutorials. I ordered some greenstuff and some sculpting materials and I have some paint. I cannot wait to get started on such a great hobby. (Side note: I DM a dungeons and dragons game and can't wait to surprise em with custom minis from my homebrew world)

  • Today my mom gonna buy island of blood thanks for the tutorial

  • Excellent tutorial, thank's, the results with the washes are really cool. I'm painting mini's again and your tips and tutorials have really helped, ta again.

  • Do you not need to spray-paint-basecoat the models?

  • @FarseerOfPouiln and great job too

  • SHAWN FROM BTP YOU ROCK !!!!!!1!!!! :D

  • Hey, tolles video ! Hast du die Miniatur vorher gar nicht grundiert? die Base sieht zwar danach aus , aber der Skave nicht .^^

    weiter so!

  • @SchmerzfaktorDraed ich habe die figur grau grundiert. deshalb sieht es so aus als ob sie nicht grundiert sei, aber wie du schon sagtest, an dem base sieht man es.

  • 1 person doesnt like basecoat brushes! Great Vid thanks!

  • kan you plaese mmake a painting tutorial for ogres

    (irongut ;-).) nok. 280

  • kan you plaese mmake a painting tutorial for ogres

    (irongut ;-).)

  • i have never done warhammer before but i want to start how should i because i have no paint or anything todo with warhammer???

  • @misspokemon99 for that i would suggest one of the 3 paint sets gw produces. you get some minis, some paints and a brush. everything to start with the painting.

  • @GirlPainting ok but how much are they because i only get £3 poket money a week

  • Sooooo helpful. just started playing and your video helped me immensly. Already a big improvement = )

  • btw: here is comment to make you stay doing tutorials.

    ai luv ur vids!

  • would it be easier to pint the model once its asembled or paint the peices that put it together?

  • Nice work when is your next tutorial?

  • @AlexWeislak you can use boltgun metall

realy nice work it helped me alot to get started :D

  • You really are skilled at painting quickly and easily Alexandra, and since I'm a big skaven fan and rather in awe of you this was a great video for me :). I'm thinking about buying a boxed set of clanrats and painting them the way you do just so I can have something awesome to look at, since I'd be rubbish at the actual game (I tried lotr sbg with goblins and totally failed :( ) But again, thank you for the easy tutorial to follow :D.

  • Thanks alot! I have always had trouble distinguishing what is skin and what is fur (since so little actual fur is shown on the model itself) but this showed me exactly what to do!

  • I'm leaving you a comment then :)

Your videos always contribute to make me paint more and more, you're an inspiration. Thanks a lot and keep them comming please!

  • Nice job! Painting clothes with this style pays off!! What colours would you use if you painted the clothes purple? !!

Thumps up for all your vids ;-)!

  • @shineyard badab black wash and highlight with pink

  • thanks for this im using the steps untill the highlighting to paint my 400 skaven :D

  • Your vids continue to impress and amaze me! Great work you are a very very talented artist.

  • Also, can you put duvlan mud (i think its that one) on a skeleton when it only has a white prime on it and still make it look real?

  • Anyone know what color paint she used for the metal? I'm not fimilar with GW paints, and I couldn't catch it.

  • What is that stuff you use on the top of your model painting mount to hold it in place? I thought it was blu-tack but thought i would ask so i don't go sticking my model bases in blu-tack if it's something else :P

  • @stegie it is basicly blue tack in white ;-)

  • When you paint any miniature, it's look like it's very easy, and the outcome is great..

There ar hundreds tutorials in Youtube, but yours are the best, because of your explanations, your camera, and last bur not less, because you're painting in real time!

It's some kind of Real Time Painting.

    Anyway, I love your videos.

  • Every howto tutorial inspires me to keep on painting. I wish my paintjob would be so cute. Your job is excellent. I really like howto videos. Don't give up make them, please.

I watch your Warp-9-DVD almost every week. Thank you for those greats gifts.

  • Hey, i feel some what inspired by watching your videos and i was wondering what would be a good way to get back into this hobby, i haven't painted properly in a good 3-4 years and i really want to get started again, any tips?

  • @BagiClaymations grab a mini you would like to paint and get started. you could take one of my tutorials and follow it, like this clan rat for example. or you could take a paint set and paint the minis that are in there. or or or...

  • A really good tutorial thank you :)

(hi chewies!... love that at the start :p)

  • @MeesterWolf99 She sais "Tubies" Aka "Youtubers" Not chewies D:

  • @warhammer40kiss Oh! Sounds more like chewies to moi... my mistake :(

  • Hey nice tutorial by the way. When will you do another contest?

  • Hi alexandra could you do a tutorial on panting dark elder ravenger

  • Do you ever get bubbles in your paint? How to avoid it?

  • Alexandra, Great Tutorial! I was thinking about the "A trade off" video you made, and what I would love to see in your videos is more theory. Your "How To Paint Every Miniature" videos are simply fantastic, and single handedly helped me learn to paint. While I could watch you paint minis all day, I think videos in which you explain advanced techniques, and go over the artistic theory behind it would be a lot cheaper for you (because you could use any mini!) and of great benefit to the community.

  • Warum hast du die Ratte nicht Braun grundiert? Dann könntest du dir das Bemalen des Fells schon sparen.

  • @GAELICscrub1 qualety wise there is no difference between vallejo and gw paints. the only difference is that vallejo have a little bit more in the pot and use dropper bottles.

  • Great vid. This can be applied to so many models.

I'm glad you're not coughing as much too.

  • Really enjoying the past few miniature videos. Do you plan to do an unboxing then a paint tutorial and showcase for everything now? It's a really nice format. Also the sound effects made me chuckle :D!

  • excellent job

  • As much as I love watching your vids for instructions, the ones I return to repeatedly are those where you speed up the film and play music, like your Gollum, Aragorn and Saruman vids. If you feel it takes too long time to make the instructional vids where you explain everything, just make some non-speach vids once in a while... Only thing you could add to those vids was a small text telling which colors you're using!

That being said I'm satisfied as long as you just keep painting! :-)

  • EEEeeeee! How long I have waited for this! ^,=,^

  • Oh I loved watching this.

  • Every time I watch one of your painting vids it give me the itch to paint! So thanks!

  • Look good and quick too!

  • The rat looks great.

  • excelent beautiful job

  • Very nice thank you for sharing.

  • Another excellent tutorial and fantastic results on the minature...great job...Jim.

  • Hi alexandra I was just wondering what your view on painting the separate pieces of a miniature prior to building them was? I find for myself that the results are better but the time is doubled or tripled

  • Great work. Simple technique, easy to replicate and yet effective. I would use a brighter flock on the base to get more contrast with the dark mini.

  • After watching this I think that I haven't been putting my washes on thick enough. Whenever I use delvan Mud I think all it does is make the mini look dirty. Yours looked good and you put about twice as much on this mini than I do.

  • Very nice. Hope to see more ofc :)

  • awesome job!

  • Any idea when the last part of the Dante tutorial will be up?

  • @Tim85axira sorry, the footage was lost in the warp :-S (on my old harddrive that crashed on me)

  • @GirlPainting Aw...so you got him painted up? mind putting some fotage up?

  • I cannot thank you enough for creating a skaven guide! There are just so many mini's to paint and never any guides.

  • Thank you for this Tutorial! Are you going to do some Imperial Guard in the future?

  • Nice looking rat!

  • Ah.. half an hour of escapism, relax with a hot drink and enjoy. A good tutorial for those of us facing huge horde armies, tips on how to create a quick but good looking force. One of the things I always enjoy is your humour, waiting for you to say tum-tee-tum while painting always makes me smile. Thank you for another helpful & fun vid.

One mini I'd like to see you paint is the new plastic banshee, I think it would be beautiful. Is there anything from the last year or so you'd like to paint?

  • ~shakes fist into the air~

one day ill paint my props as well you pint your figures

    ehh

    ill work on it

till then ill refer to you in my vids

    :)

  • I always prime my miniatures in black, and never had promblems with that (unless I wonna paint 'em in white, then I use the white one),but I noticed that you often use different colours to do the same work. May I know why?

  • @Dargor94 to be honnest....i am out of white primer ^^ ;-) but don´t tell anyone :-P

  • @GirlPainting Ahaha I'll keep the secret!

  • How the hell do you do to keep your paints wet on your dry palette? I've been doing some orcs from AoBR and I could make just one arm with all the highlights. After that the paint was almost completely dry. One arm!!! :)

  • does that mean if we want a tutorial we just need to send you a miniature?

  • awsome i love the fantasy painting tutorials

  • so handy dandy =D good vid alexandra =D

  • pls paint some eldar

  • I always seem to get a streaky look when using washes - how do you prevent this?

  • @hydra66 use more. streaks mostly apear when you are to shy at using the washes.

  • Sehr gutes Tutorial wie immer. Mehr Fantasy-Modelle bitte in Zukunft. Orks wären fein. Mach weiter so!

  • Finally Skaven! Thanks Alexandra! =)

  • Awesome tutorial as usual, as somebody with absolutely NO artistic talent, i love your varied tutorials, especially those that rely heavily on washes and quickshade. Whilst i pick up some painting skills your large variety of videos is giving me a lot more knowledge as well.

  • Love your painting tutorials they have helped me out a lot and have made the painting process much less intimidating for someone just starting the hobby (even though you have no videos on my army lol) Looking forward to more great vids :)

  • Missing a step in painting a color, only bad if your using the girlpainting method of heavy coating with badab black lol. I've started painting like that with my high elves and must say I like how they turn out but not how skin tone comes out with black wash, so I just do it after I wash the whole model.

  • Would love to see you do more Fantasy miniatures!!! Very inspiring.

  • red sable brushes are fantastic, one lasted me a lil bit short of 1 year, and i used it for EVERYTHING :)

  • Thanks for another great tutorial really liked it

  • Cool model and I can't wait to see more videos. I want you to know that, you make it very hard to pick an army. All of your tutorials are so beautiful that I end up wanting to get models from all the different armies so I can try and paint like you,

  • Great job and video as always.

  • Hi Alexandra,

How do you correct minor painting mistakes?

    THANK YOU!

    =)

  • @NexusCrawler72 correcting them by painting over them ;-)

  • Fantastic job on the Skaven Clanrat.

  • nice video, i dont like rats that much but ive got a heap from the island of blood i should probably paint, you started doing some lotr earlier this year, i thought that looked fantastic could you do some more of that? thx for all your hard work

  • Another informative video. My son will really enjoy this video as he has just started to collect scavens. Like all of your videos it just inspiers us to paint our own armies thanks.

  • Another great video, Alexandra. I really enjoy all your stuff but particularly the fantasy tutorials. I know you did some Empire videos a while ago. It would be great to see a tutorial on painting Reiksguard knights as I will be trying to do some soon. Thanks again and keep up the good work: I've really learned a lot from you.

  • Fantastic...........thank you for sharing!

  • dark elves plz

  • @MrWaz888 sorry, i don´t have dark elves here

  • if it is possible could you do a painting series on the Island Of Blood.

  • Hi GirlPainting that was a really good vid.

  • may i ask whats that puttylike thing that hold the base to that old bottle?

  • @mephetran1 its just blue tac or some form of tac :)

  • I don't know if you ever coved this, but how do you clean your brushes after you paint your miniatures? Great mini as always, love your vids, they keep me painting.

  • lol those sound effects made me giggle

  • Loved it as always!

I learned to paint by watching your video. Now I have finally started to develop my own style, and have diverged from the way you use washes. I used to do things the way you do: block out all colors, a thick black or brown wash, and highlight. I stopped because my friends kept mentioning that my figures looked dirty.

So my question is how do you keep your minis looking clean using Devlan Mud? Also, why do you never use the GW colored washes (e.g Thraka Green)?

  • Alexandra, sometimes i don't like you. Why? You make it look way too easy. :D You work so fast and still acurat. For me its still kind of hard to paint only basecoats without touching parts I didn't want to paint. Thats why i need ages to fix my mistakes. I think i still need more practice, even so i pain for several years. You encourage me to get better at least :D

  • I just started painting miniatures with the warhammer40k stuff. I got a set and decided to do the blood angels stuff because I saw how well you painted them. My first miniature turned out amazing and I am really happy with it. Then I tried to paint a miniature in the Imperial fists design. The color resembles vomit and I never got finished with it. So, I went back and painted another blood angel, which turned out badly as well. I am a bit discouraged but I would like to finish painting them. :(

  • Yeah, i just got to the "make more comments, so I make videos" part xD

  • Do you play any fantasy armies or only 40k?

  • Make more videos, you are awesome!

  • lol sound effects :D

  • Beautiful tutorial as always! I would love to see a grey knight tutorial at some point in the future. I know you love that power armour. :)

  • @TerminusDecree if only i had some grey knights. but i will not buy a box i don´t need for just one model.

  • @GirlPainting How about Kaldor Draigo or Castellan Crowe instead? The techniques should be the same, right?

  • @1madhammer plz just keep one thing in mind. i don´t have infenite money. plz just be patient and enjoy the videos i provide to you guys with the little bit i can spend to support my hobby. i can´t do tutorials for every mini out there.

  • @GirlPainting Fair comment.

  • @GirlPainting You could use a vanilla marine and a grey knight paint scheme. Possibly even convert the helmet. Keep up the good work in any case. :)

  • Very nice tutorial on getting a simple scheme done while making it look good at the same time! I look forward to seeing more like this.

  • I wish I was as capable with a paint brush as you, your miniatures are always amazing =D

  • Great tutorial as always ;) I'll have to get around to painting my skaven some day using the same techniques.
