The voice and finger belong to Prof Richard Gregory - British psychologist and Professor of Neuropsychology. He died last year (2010). Often used by British TV to explain basic psychology. Expert on optical illusions. Cool guy
the voice is probably just someone in the production crew reminding him to say that the light is "above" might have done a few mistake takes and needed a reminder im 98% that the voice just said above.
I can see the hollow faces with both lights. I guess this was a bad version of hollowness...?
