About a year and a half ago, Danelectro reissued the "Dano Pro" which was a model that originally came out in the late '50s / early '60s (although the original only had one pickup). It's one of the coolest guitars you'll find for 250 bucks

The chord in the solo part at 2:03/2:05 in the Cake version is a D major instead of a D minor, as you played, though it's out of nowhere and is the only exception in the whole track. Every other time it is D minor, like you're playing there. The song is so repetetive as it is, you almost need that one glimpse of variety. Really well done though.
