  • I have no idea why is people still comparing. Look, its plain and simple, for example WoW. People play WoW because they like a warcraft based MMO. People play DCUO because they like a DC based MMO. People like SWTOR because they like a starwars based MMO.

Idiots who keep saying that this is better or that is better are idiots who can't decide which game to play.

  • I've been a COX player since 06 off and on Im gonna get back into it soon and I've been checking out DCUO vids just 2 see the difference between the 2 and I must say that DC seems to have better graphics and fighting mechanics but I'm no expert. Let's be fare though the reason why DC doesn't have as much content is becuz it's only 1yr old COX is almost 10!

but if you can tell me an honest opinion of the good and the bad on both games

  • @Mmachine88 DCUO has better gameplay and pvp just crappy chsracter custom and has problems with qs. biggest reason it went f2p was PvP Qs

  • CoH FTW anyday Champions was a bad copy of the game, i left after 1 month, played CoX since 2005, even better now CoX it F2P :D

  • if you had city of heroes with champions online graphics... omg <3

  • @jippiandy are you joking... champions graphics are terrible, they attempted to make it cell shaded but its just a bad version of it. coh's graphics are great with ultra mode an a lot beter than champions.

  • City of Heroes of course! I played a lot more Champions but it got boring after some time.

    CoH for the WIN!

  • CO is way better than COH because all at CO are better!!!

  • DCU IS FOR FAGS 3 QUESTS

  • LoL DCUO would crush these 2 games :) but theyre customizing is MUCH MUCH better. But DCUO still crushes em.

  • @MrRed411 DCU is one of the worst mmos ever made, and thats why it went f2p less than a year it went out and coh just became free after 7 years.

  • @Mmachine88 Actually its really fun

  • CoH has a better cult following; not to mention better character/power customization imo

  • You should play DC Universe Online while your waitng, you can play free.

  • @bronzetiger007 you can other too free to now why pick one play all 3 for free.

  • @bronzetiger007 lol... this was 3 years ago, CO already came out and it came out before DCU

  • dc universe online is mcuh much beter den des

  • i think coh/cov is a better game when your actully in the game but i think with champions online you get more out of a free account and the tutorial is better so ill go with champions online

  • Oh and city of heroes lets you chose your side.

  • City of heroes has way better archetype customization and more of a mmo feel for combat.Champions online is full of restrictions for archetypes and gameplay now. Both games are free to play.Play City of Heroes its 100020 percent better.

  • city of heroes wins

  • they're both great games, pros and cons to each, now if only someone would combine all the best features of BOTH into one SUPER supermmorpg, well... then that would just be... SUPER =P

  • Champions >.>

  • whats the max lvl in champions online

  • both are good. i play both i have gold on CO and 2 lvl 50s on CoH but i say

that CO have better travling powers and more choices in the game. but

CoH have good packs.but CO has mosr stuff like hideouts.

  • Meh. The combat system kinda sucks, always bores me the whole "He hack, you hack". I absolutely despise playing like that. Only other style of play I hate more are turn based battles. Awfull.

Champions Online is really action packed non-stop, beautful comic graphics and greater costumization options all over.

CoH is currently better on content being a veteran, with awesome stuff like DayJobs and such, but CO is not falling far behind, now with Hideouts, Comic Arcs, Arch-Nemesis, etc... CO>CoH.

  • i think coh is best the only thing that champs beats coh at is the combat...and the way the travel powers look but besides that coh is best.

  • Here's the only problem with your video. With the option for Ultra Settings to the graphics with the release of Going Rogue, they now trump over what CO offers. Take a look at any computer efficiently running on any level of Ultra Settings and it'll make you rethink your video ;)

  • COH Is Much Better Than CO... The Powers Are Better, The Gameplay Is better... I Just have More Fun Playing COH Than I Do Playing CO... And Yes If COH Was Free Everyone WOuld Play COH. CO Is Not As Fun...

  • There are only two things CO does better than CoX: 1. Graphics. I agree that the graphics are better in CO, but I think they are a little unrealistic. 2. Combat. I think the CO combat is a little more lively. You can move around a lot. That's it. I think CO content is bad, and it's too short. Plus, too much soloing.

  • You obviously care more for CO to show off the "Cooler" parts of it.. and showing off the boring parts of CoH. CoH Is older and still going strong, CO has no chance.

  • @Kyle7464 CO has no chance? are you an idiot? Since it went F2P it gained over 1000 players, more than probably it's F2P verison was listed on Steam. It's a proving fact MMOs that over a free verison do better than general subscription MMOs, look at Lord Of The Rings Online, they're raking in the cash now. Seriously if you're just gonna post dumbass comments like this, shut the fuck up.

  • @Kyle7464 We'll just have to wait and see.

  • zeveryone knows if coh was free theyd be all over it.

  • @jokersboi It's going to be, but greatly limited, where as you have more options for free players in CO, in CoH the F2P will not have access to guilds, mail, or banking.

  • @DDDowney I agree. I got really excited when I heard CoH is goin' free to play, as I played the trial years ago and loved it, 'cept for the combat, but it made up for it. But with these awfull limitations, it Totally turned me off.

CO is probably one of the fewer games that gives silver players true freedom. It's the only game I know that lets me finish the game and EnjoyALL it's content in-game 'cept for Adventure packs and archtypes from start to end. Gold are not superior to you, but on par.

  • @badkiller2 Gold freeform chars are absolutely superior to archetypes in PvP. Even the best free archetypes, Behemoth and Glacier has no chance against a well built freeform in tier 4 PvP. Some of them hit my 90% resist Glacier like trucks. No chance what so ever against a nicely built freeform with bots, defense, offense and heals all in one. Goddamn OP against any archetype.

  • @Network1One PvP is always imbalanced, no matter the game. Also, since when is PvP so important? I preffer normal questing.

  • @badkiller2 Not always. Rock-scissor-paper is an acceptable "imbalance" but when a paper is supposed to be cut by the scissor but instead it wraps it, there you have a problem. Anyway, I'm not QQing. Just stating that this is the situation if you are to play CO for free in tier 4. PVP is important since as long as there are those who prefer it. It doesn't have to be you though.

  • @Network1One How is RPS imbalanced?? Rock beats Scissor beats Paper beats Rock. everyone here has a prey and a predator.

  • @badkiller2 Note the ""! Thanks for the info. Never noticed. Over...

  • @Network1One . . . WAT??

  • coh sux, gameplay wise, graphics wise, and the powers just plain SUCK

  • Only way to truely know this is if you played both and have one hell of a PIMPed out computer (which i have) and be open to others if you prefer to solo or like team play. I have yet to play champions but seen the demos and such but i played coh hardcore for 3 years now. I can say for me im a bit bias....plus for those that really know what im talking about the rp for coh well... if you dont know than you just dont know. :)

  • I like to focus on the community of the game, CO just doesnt have the same community feel that CoH gave me, it might be because everyone on CO seems to hate one another, never had that with CoH and Paragon Studios actually interacts with the community in game.

CO may have better game mechanics but CoH is more welcoming for me.

  • i think ccity of heroes and going rouge is btter because it has more 3d graphics realistic. champions looks fun but it looks more 2d + 3d because the people are traced over with black outline.

the good thing about champions online is that it is more fun and free to play.

  • @mnakvi101 yoou could deactivate the comic outline.

  • i think ccity of heroes and going rouge is btter because it has more 3d graphics realistic. champions looks fun but it looks more 2d + 3d because the people are traced over with black outline.

  • champions online.becuase i seen mmohut first look hd and its better

  • champions online.

  • Now that I've seen this, Champions looks like ithas WAY better graphics...I played it before and all I get are pixels...it looks HORRIBLE compared to what I've seen in CoH...not sure why I can't make them both have no lag and look the same

  • Played CoX for 4 years and after 1 year of playing Champions Online I can respectfully say that Champions Online is better overall! And to the guy underneath me... You must be crazy to think their entirely different games and that CoX has more content... The only reason you say that is due to the fact you experienced a lot more in CoX over the years but trust me CO has a lot more to offer... Try hitting the cap atleast once or twice on each game then you can make a comment. Thanks :)

  • i think which one is better depends on what kind of gameplay you prefer since they're entirely different. i still love CoH though since i've been playing it off and on since release and it has way more content than CO. they're both fun games though.

  • Chapions feels like a more complete superhero mmo with your own arch enemy, more customization (looks and powers), and more continuety in it's storyline. Cox has the parallel universe thing going on and you never play alongside Statesman's crew (if u do its super rare). You meet Defender and his team in the tutorial and work with him several times as it goes on. So I say Champions; love em both though.

  • CHAMPIONS ONLINE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Better graphics, gameplay and alot more character options!!!!!!!!!!!

  • champions online....ITS FREEE NOW!!!!XDXDXDXDXDXDXDXDXDXD

  • Champions online obviously, gameplay is fast paced and more customization.

  • champions is free? wow im the last to know everything!

  • Champions Online +1))))

  • champions online is free :3

  • there both AWESOME. but champions is FREE now :3

  • r u srsly compering 2 games from the same company with the same theme only one of them is new and the other old? wtf were u thinking?

  • Comment removed

  • @KEGGAE45 These published by two diffrent companies, but there both developed by cryptic.

  • go champions online!

  • @heyitsmejacob It will, and it probably did.

  • i was having doubts about Champions Online but this is reassuring, Champions Online rocks

  • I think Champions Online is like CoH/V but better. And plus its going F2P soon!

  • @dTXovoXTb cant wait

  • CO is much more customizable with over 3100 costume pieces (not including unlockables) and the ability to move while fighting making combat free and not feeling like a rotation.

CoX have been out longer, they have more issues (up to 19 now), events and a improved Graphics engine since Paragon have joined the team.. but in truth the

Armor Shine and Look of materials and textures in champions are much more better looking.

  • @SeiferKai ya ur ryt! i like champions online better and they are also having it for free to play!

  • Is looking very hard to Decide. With Cryptic's Announcements of CO being Free to Play on 1/21/11. Everything in CO has been Fixed, Bugs have been looked at. Millennium City have a complete makeover and the West side and the city all together have a complete story overhaul. the beginner area in CO has been redone and easier and more exciting to follow.

Cox: has gotten a new expansion all together the ability to use villain power sets in hero cities and vice versa is a nice change of pace. -->

  • Thing is that CO is made exclusively by Cryptic, and CoH is made by Cryptic respectfully but it's now owned by NCSoft who are a bunch of corporate assholes that have closed many great and popular games such as Tabula Rasa. They simply "cut off" Richard Garriot's funding without notice..

To be honest, if you are still playing CoH, you are just cheating yourself to a bad fate. If NCSoft closed down Tabula Rasa in a matter of days, they could just go on the warpath and do the same for CoH.

  • @ParadoxFC City of Heroes has lasted 75 months (or more, not sure) and is still going strong. They are always making new additions to the game and have recently introduced the new incarnate system. They have also annouced that there will be a City of Heroes 2 and so it doesn't look like they will be shutting it down any time soon. However, there is always a chance that they do the same for CoH as they did for Tabula Rasa as there isn't as many people as some other MMO's.

  • @ParadoxFC I guess we just have to wait and see :-)

  • i love them both, theyrenboth awsome

  • 75 month vet of CoH (sorry...old fogies like me still call it "CoH" lol) and I plan to stay that way. I survived the nerf-fests (two year commercial beta), and while my overall interest in the game has waned, there's still more than enough to keep me loyal. The new Incarnate system is completely intriguing, and has breathed new life into what is a comfortable, old fit for me. I love being a superhero, and CoH is exactly what did that for me.

  • Concerning character creation, I was much more able to better create the characters I wanted with the costumes that I wanted in CoX than in CO.

All that CoX needs to do to surpass CO is allow custom powers selection.

And I wanted CO to be a much better game than CoX....AND that I do know that CO is a good game.

Cryptic did both, but it looks like a new team of developers did CO...like some sad fanfic version of CoX.

CoX just had the time to do it right. Experience matters.

  • When I heard that Cryptic was coming out with CO, I thought, "Okay, I guess Cryptic felt they could make a better, faster, stronger hero universe in CO." But they didn't do that. Instead, they released a bug-ladden, undeveloped, socially disfunctional game with very little gains from newer tech. CO has potential, but compared to the very polished, very evolved CoX, CO delivers less fun.

With all that effort in making CoX so great, why bother make CO if it isn't substantially better?

  • I'm a 3 1/2 year CoX player on the Liberty and Virtue servers and I did try a trail of CO but wasn't impressed. I liked the CO character creator because the options were awesome, but it could be frustrating sometimes as well. The gameplay in CO was much too much like WoW and I'm not a fan of the WoW interface (though I will admit to loving the Hunter class) and I freaking HATE cell shading. I'd like to create a werewolf toon on CoX that doesn't look like shit, but don't see it happening.

  • in my opinion i think CO is better between demos reasons

CO: Unlimited playtime, level 15, two characters max but can only stay in first level cant go to Canada, GREAT GRAPHICS

CoH: limited gameplay, limited actions, limited costomizations, cannot achieve cape wings ect. unless bought =]

  • Strongest points

CO: Very high customization costume, stats and power wise. Not just running around in cities. More clear graphics

CoH: Nitty Gritty Graphics, More Melee Power Sets, Architect, Been Around Longer, Better Storyline

  • I'm thinking of joining CoX. When I played in the Closed Beta for CO it seemed like any other MMO; Grinding and questing, no other features really. It also felt like a single player game, not because of no one being online, because there was ALOT of people in the beta. It just wasn't that fun to be in groups of other players most of the time :/

  • @BSWES We'd be happy to have you in Paragon City. Get a trial membership and look me up on the Infinity server.

  • Also here is a list of stuff that has been added since this video. Going Rogue, Ultra mode [graphics], ability to become hero/vig/rogue/villain, missions that have different outcomes depending on what choices you make, four new powersets, i19 [incarnates], new temp powers, new costumes/auras plus many more! Out of the two, CoX is the one in which you feel like your the star of the show, whereas CO your a sidekick at the best to the main heroes.

  • Know this video was made about a year ago but have to remember that since this video was made, a LOT has changed in CoX. First of all is the graphics upgrade that people seem to be talking about in the posts below, when you talk about ATs and such being a problem, i think it is a good thing to have ATs since you can have the same powerset combo but the playstyle is different for different ATs.

  • City of Heroes all day. Champions looks fun and all but City of Heroes has more to it then just fast cartoonish effects.

  • Ive had City of Heroes since 2004 and i LOVED that gay. It has gotten kind of weak over the years with the BS changes to it and all but its still so addictive for some reason. Champions Online seems fun and all....but it just seems to childish with the fast moving cartoonish graphics. Also City of Heroes has a Better "Storyline" behind it compared to Champions.

  • They are all sick but scince I never really played CO, I like COX more but CO looks amazing to! Plus CO has way more traveling styles but I just love COX AND CO!

  • As a 72 months veteran, I prefer CoX.

CO's graphics are nice, but too much "toon" for me, and looks more like a weird science fiction Mmo than a Super heroic one.

CoX got of course much more stuff too, because it's older than CO.

Architect, flashback missions, changing alignments with going rogue etc...

But good thing that people go on CO instead staying in CoX; it reduce the lag caused by too many people on CoX ;)

  • 45 months jeez? do u have no life

  • @thugginallday12 It's not 45 months with the game turned on, it's 45 months with your account activated, smartass.

  • @Holygiant again... no life...

  • @thugginallday12 ...You're just... ugh. You're so ignorant, it's a waste of my time.

  • @Holygiant im a waste of time? who the hell told you ass to talk to me? fucking loser. yea next time jus read and stfu

  • i did play both city of heros and now trying out champs champs i love the creations realy can pimp your toon out : ) it looks beter runs smooth game play repeat and wash i dont minde that : ) iam on a trial version can any one shair how to set up the gear slots on bottom rite the things you pick up i kinda get it but not raly? cuz i was trying to focus on the main trates " exmaple dex and strangth ?

  • I already have City of Heroes (Heroes, Villains, and Going Rouge).

  • Well, because I enjoy customization a LOT more than just gameplay, I go with Champions Online, for a few reasons. I think the graphics are much better than CoX's and overall I think Champions Online just flows better. I also think that with Champs it gives the creative player much more to work with. Finally, when it comes to gameplay, Champions, just for me I enjoy it better because, well, I think the simple way it's set up just clicked for me... and anyone who disagrees please respond!

  • City Of Heros Cause its awsome with Going Rogue

  • Champions is just city of heros just with more style besides whats the max amount of enemies u can fight on champions

  • I played CoX since the beta of both games and played regularly until CO came out. CoX was great, but dated. CO is a lot more CoX v 2.0 than the "cheap knockoff" some want to call it (and if you don't like the black outlined look, you can do what I did a year ago... turn it off). The level of customization, in both appearance of the character and their power choices gives CO a major edge. What really sells it for me are the travel powers that make sense for non-super characters that CoX lacks.

  • being a 27 month vet on coh i honestly think coh is way better...when you see the champions online videos they look so cool, but then i went out and bought it and i was very disappointed. I like champions character creator options and the powers but other than that coh is the best

  • Being a 6 year veteran of off and on CoX, and recently got into CO I have to say, CO for only one reason, the better powers, at first the powers in CoX seems really cool but gets really reppettetive very fast, in CO there are many more possibilities, If CoX had that id be the better game hands down.

  • CO is more fluid and looks better. CoX has more content but looks pretty dull in comparison. All the content and features in the world doesn't necessarily make it more intertaining.

  • I think CoX is better than CO. Simply because it is much better gameplay, more mature, and has much better features, ie architect, customizable powers, and if they were to update the graphics it would be perfect

  • i think that at this point DC universe online looks the most promising but i think i will get my CoH back untill then

  • Champions Online, as from what I can recall the CoX series had a much smaller game world (i could be very wrong in that assumption as I only played for little 2 months of each of the CoX franchise games), but from what I've seen upto now with Champ Online (and I've only been playing a week) the game has a much larger area to explore

  • Guys can't we just all try to bring down wow?

  • Okay so, champions because it has a large variety of things to do at all lvls from missions to PvP when CoX doesnt offer much PvP till u have higher lvl characters. CoX because of its great instances rather then CO's 2-5minutes of running room to room until lvl 20's. I think they are both good, but i would play Champions over CoX anyday.

  • Good call on Champions winning there Slix, besides the fact that it sucks horribly , never got near the numbers CoH did and will probably shut down within the next year along with Cryptic (since they did so well with it and Star Trek Online). Good job there buddy.

  • CoH is better for mission architect alone

  • I have said this to other friends that have played both games. Champions has better graphics and character creation. CoX has better content meaning you feel like you are in a comic book story. If champions get better content it will beat CoX but when I was playing champions that look like it was years away.

  • instead of spending more money on CO they should've just put all of CO ideas to CoX like the travel powers (I think theres alot more options for Travel power in CO) and boss fight and Nemesis

  • City of Heroes kicks ass! too bad my parents stopped paying for it. i still consider myself a seasoned vet tho. quit....2 years ago? started a month or two after it came out. CoX is also great for altoholics like me lol

  • i actually graded both by different factors and i came up with the same score for both including decimals... i dont know which is better to play!

for example champs has better graphics but its in a cartoony way i dont like coh/v has better style and is more nitty gritty

  • Coh Still got more culture and more to do in it.

  • City of heroes is a fun as a fan of it i no...ppl say champions is a knock off that may be but champions has a alot more action yea da graphics are cartoonish but who cares the game is still a very fun game and the powers are cool to and millions of ppl play it including myself champions is a game thats going to be here for a while.

  • People dont know what they are talking about champions online was the best out of the 2 i graphics combat mobility and quest , quest in champions online made sense and followed a story and city of heros had nothing , in champions online you get a traveling power right when you start off and in city of heros you have to earn it? when superheros come along they usualy are gifted in some way being able to be fast strong or being able to fly , you dont see spiderman working for his powers do you?

  • @zefron342 Haha i just imagined spider man strolling along like; Yeah! i'm WALKIN' bitches!

  • CoH is 1000 times better Champions online failed in beta

  • they both suck in my opinion its a great idea but no one has pulled it off yet but between the 2 champions is definitely better

  • @shadowfang3001 have you played city of heroes? they HAVE pulled it off very well.

  • @tuberio789 yes ive played them both duh i play CoH for bout 3 months

  • k all u who are complaining about champions onlines graphics.. the graphics may be cartoony but they are much better than city of heroes. compare the requirments. champions has way higher requierments to play than city of heroes. also i tried champions online trial account and it didnt even want to run on my computer cause it was over my computers limit. but i got city of heroes and it works great on full graphics

  • i lough so hard! at how is says City of heroes then shows CO then says Co and shows CoX LMAO!

  • I was just looking at the web site for DC Universe Online (which the link showed up while looking at Going Rogue) and that actually looks like a more unique game than Champions Online because it's introducing new game play that no other MMO has. And it'd just be really cool to fight along side DC Heroes instead of just getting missions from them like in other games. You rarely if ever get to team up with Statesman or Lord Recluse.

  • @RialVestro I haven't been keeping up with DCO. It's SoE (not that they're bad but tired of putting up with their customer service) and I'm not a DC fan. However, they are trying to be like WoW in that trying to do what CO does but better. Not sure where their state of the game currently resides right now but they were aiming for an action RPG... where you were limited to four basic attacks but using the directional keys you could do combos.

  • @FatalFist That sounds nothing like the game I was looking at. There are power selections like with CoX and Champions but as well as your own powers you can also use your environment in your attacks. This means the game play is actually like the trailers for CoX where you can pick up vehicles and defeated enemies and throw them at other characters. On a team you can even combine attacks as one person picks up a bus and another rigs it to explode on impact before the first person throws it.

  • i got champions 4 £3 so if i dont like it i didnt lose that much money =D

  • In Champion's defense though CoX has had 6 going on 7 years to develop. CO unfortunately didn't compete terribly well enough. The characters are more defined in CO than CoX where as CO is a bit more cartoony.

  • I like city of heroes much more

  • Champions Online wins at being fast paced.

  • I have now Played both games, And personally I love the Comic-book feel of Champions. The animations are solid, and the fact that you can now be completely mobile while in combat is wonderful!

I enjoyed CoX, but, it got old for me pretty fast. It wasn't much fun solo. Champs is a lot of fun solo, and even better with friends!

I think I'll be sticking with Champs for a long while. :)

  • champs got better graphics but requires a tricked out gaming comp

gameplay wise i would say both are equal in that respect, not much better or less of each other

concepts i prefer coh/cov, you go and try playing champs you see about 90% population of robot/armored people and not enough superheroes especially when most of the powers are based on weapons and shit which is not a superhero thing, the power buffet and less role required is better on champs

wut superhero team needs a healer

  • ive played both any i like champions way better..its only been out what a year and people say it doent have enough content..well its only been out a year..not 4 like coh..champions looks better i think..more like a comic book..plus you can play with a controller..i hate using a keyboard for a hack and slash game..champions well get more content and more costumes..just gotta wait

  • SlixShots. Having now had about a year to get on with CO, how do you feel now? Has your preference for CO's graphics made up for all the crap going on with CO? Were you ready to shell out for Vibora Bay before the enormous backlash caused them to release it free? Are you still ready to overlook the problems in the roughly single leveling path and badly balanced gameplay?

  • SlixShots. Having now had about a year to get on with CO, how do you feel now? Has your preference for CO's graphics made up for all the crap going on with CO? Were you ready to shell out for Vibora Bay before the enormous backlash caused them to release it free? Are you still ready to overlook the problems in the roughly single leveling path and badly balanced gameplay?

  • wooooo go champions online yeah !!! (ive only played the demo :P)

  • Having played both (got to 20 on CO, I'm almost to 50 on CoX (!) ) I'd say that CoX is by far better ever since architect came out. It allows a very large amount of creativity (and accessibility) from the players themselves..yah CO has the "nemesis" system but...that's it? A random archvillain comes to fight you randomly? Eh, didn't really get to that point in the game but I didn't really care about it it just seemed kind of ....dumb.

Customization was better in CO but everything else = CoX

  • @archchunk More than any other addition, AE practically ruined CoX. Which was a shame. Me, I loved the idea of being able to play people's stories, as much as I loved playing alongside people's characters. Too bad it turned out to be little more than boss-farming PLers. As for the nemesis system. It's hardly random if you create your nemesis. But since you never got that far in the game, it's not like you would know what you were talking about.

  • @Anakha13 Oh please, QQ more.

  • @archchunk Pointing that you don't know what you're talking about =/= QQ

  • @Anakha13 umad.

  • Comment removed

  • @archchunk Nob.

  • @Mr247smilies You hurted my feelings :(

  • @archchunk Slight Correction: The nemesis is not random at all. You customize its look, powerset, henchmen, motivation, and backstory.

At level 20 in CO, yoru character is not fully developed in any way and you have not experienced the Nemesis, Monster Island, Lemuria, Vibora Bay, or any of the 5 man lairs.

Just something to keep in mind.

  • coh but its to easy and they kinda both lag but co harder and i think it depends on wat type of gamplay you like but these are to great mmos

  • Coh, i have all my toon's on there and the new graphics update'll make it look like

    halo reach(graphic's wise).

  • @greendragonable

No MMO will look like an FPS, don't compare them graphics wise, I've seen the Going Rogue expansion and its still no where near a halo reach stand point.

And if an MMO had those graphics it would lag due to the mass content and amount of players.

  • CO has its issues but they are working through them, the game is still very new in it's growth pains. CoX has been around for ages now and they steadfastly refuse to fix 90% of the issues that afflict the game. I can never go back to the slow pacing of CoX after experiencing the combat in CO. It's worlds better.

  • so please dont listen to these 1 month newbs .. everyone knows it takes a mmo a good 2 years before its in its prime.

  • oh and one more thing .. why is every opinion i see made about champions online follow the same words .

"i played in beta and the first month and think its shit"

in fairness to CO since those 1monther retards left they have the improved the game dramaticly releasing a new 'free' ecspansion in the process with even more free content in the form of 'adventure packs' in the enar future ...

  • I have never played CO, but I have CoX friends who tried it and they were disappointed. Ultra-mode has made the graphics better. Going Rogue will help to. As a 72 month CoX vet, I prefer CoH.

  • wohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh yay champions onlnine i love it

  • I loved COH before I even heard of champions but then it started to turn on me. Thats why when my new computer comes in Im going back to everyone on city of heroes and say *rasie middle fingers* f$%k you. then Im joinin champiions.

  • Coh was good until 50 then nothing to do but roll an alt. AE came out along with power customization, Things the devs said they could never do or just did did because they didn't want to make end game content. Now going rouge is supposed to come out but I don't think it will bring back all the people that left for CO. I recently went back to Coh for a month and there was hardly anyone on, even on freedom during peek hours.

  • sorry you quit MMO's SlixShots, would love to see you back on CoH, I was in closed beta and played my 1st month of Champs, and sorry to say it.. this game is epic fail..

That might be due to the fact i have 6 years into CoH lol. But i hated it from the get-go, and I was sooooo looking fwd to it too =(

Anyway with the launch of i17 and ultra-mode, CoH has taken a giant leap. And with Going Rogue this summmer things are lookigng up in a big way.

So come on back and say hi lolz

    @iPwn-U

  • I love c.o.h. and even post my own vids based on it on youtube I've yet to try champions online yet though it does look great, my biggest thing is having to pay $15 a month just to play a game :( I have to choose a favorite and go there can't afford to play more then one

  • My opinion is that Criptic left City of just to make a cheap knock off of the same game. Champions Online has more cartoonish graphics, and alot of the same powers and costumes that City of has. City of just looks better and has been around longer, why would anyone leave to go play what looks like a cheap knock off?

  • @RialVestro Customization. The character creator's better, and so's the power management. You get to choose all your powers individually rather than as a package.

  • @Knomyek From what I've seen on their web site Champions on line actually has less customization when it comes to powers. They have power sets just like CoH does but not as many and there's no primary, secondary, pools, or epic sets to choose from, just one big power set. Yeah just looked at the site, only 13 power sets to choose from and they all look pretty generic. Not anywhere near as good as City Of.

  • @RialVestro I can say that you're wrong and be 100% right about it. See, I'm actually playing it now, and while there are powersets, you are not restricted to choosing powers from only one. They're called 'frameworks', since they allow you to pick and choose from all of them. The website itself is outdated and from before launch, for the most part. :) Hope that helps.

  • @Knomyek Well, more or less anyway; there are some restrictions, such as "must have x powers already before getting this" and not necessarily from the same framework.

  • @Knomyek If their site is really out of date it doesn't help their cause any. CoH manages to keep their site up to date with the changes that occure in the game. That's kinda sad if Champions Online is still showing outdated information from Beta. How are they suppose to attract people to the game if the web site isn't kept up to date. That's the first thing people look at and it's bad marketing.

  • @RialVestro I didn't say the site was excellent. Just that you're wrong with the powers. :P The game, however, I think is quite good. I never liked CoX, mind you, and I played for a few months.

  • @Knomyek Wait? if you only played CoH for a few months how do you know Champions Online is better? Because to me sense Criptic Studios made both games, the first one with the help of NCSoft and the second by themselfs it's pretty obvious with the look of the graphics and the way they run their web site that NCSoft did most of the work on CoH.
