We've had to sandbag our house for the past 3 years, and now we've just been bought out by the city last month. =/

It floods because they get soooo much snow and ice, then it all melts really quickly. And if you've been to ND you know it's FLAT. So alll that snow and ice that melted, just goes on and on and on. Theres no hills or etc to stop any of it.

This is not global warming it is farmers able now with bigger equipment to be able to leavle and drain sections of land at a time. So it hits the river faster instead of sitting in the fields. It is also the county building bigger ditch so the water hits the river faster. Until someone fixes that the cities will keep getting hit with higher floods waters every year.

To those making fun of us here for the police thing, if not for the escorts, the dikes that were breached could have harmed or killed many people. So shut the hell up. Unless you were here, you have no place making fun of us. We worked hard to save what we could, and you making fun of our efforts is sick. i Live in fargo but was gone for mostly the whole flood its wierd how that happend but im glad everyone helped and got through it!!! glad to be back in fargo

Exactly. Our stupid-ass government is rebuilding Iraq and giving all our money to other countries that crap on us every chance the get like Saudi Arabia and we cant get good levees or even good bridges. Where I live, we still have dirt roads. That's unacceptable in our country in the 21st century in my opinion. Where is our tax money going? I can answer that. Its going to third world countries that dont even like us.

I completely agree with the sentiment, if not the method. Here in Kentucky we have periodic heavy snowfalls, When we do have them the entire area is paralyzed, but we have no snow removal equipment. Why?? Because it's too expensive for the local government to justify it. It's not the Feds job, and the locals refuse to do their job. If your locals aren't doing anything to stem the tide, perhaps you need elect new local officials.

ya they needed escorts because they were ridiculously over the legal weight and also had to turn into residential neighborhoods (which semi trailers aren't really made to do) so the cops had to block traffic for them

i wouldnt go so much over weight since each bag was roughly weight 50pounds so there would have to be at least 1000 bags on a truck for it to be 50,000 worth and still them trucks wouldnt be over 80,000pds.. the traffic was a main reason but more so all the cargo was unsecured so could fall of at any time and thats one helll of a fine for unsecured cargo but hey man glad we made it threw it.... god job everybody i know i had fun throwin bags
