The "wild" is far from a good place for them. A baby monkey stands a less than 40% chance of survival. A new leader kills all the infants that aren't his. Single males will kill babies so the mama goes in heat. A mama will eat her baby alive if she sees something she doesn't like. If food or water is scarce, the troop runs off and leaves the babies to starve or become prey. This one looks well fed. It may have been abandoned, or it's mama killed. Should have thrown gas on it, damm vermin. I have found one good use for them. If you hook them right, through the neck and out the nose, they make good shark bait. They splash a lot, attracting sharks. For the smaller fish, barrcuda etc. I use the babies. They can last up to an hour before they drown.

I have a lot of sharks near. They follow the boat now expecting a monkey or baboon treat.
