  • Yes, we need new jobs! Have a more competitive U.S. trade policy. Impose the same taxes or tariffs to our foreign producers. Our American producers should not be charged over seven times as many taxes as our foreign producers. Stop the Chinese cheating. Stop allowing them to buy our American companies while barriers remain there for American investment. Step up our infrastructure. We foolishly pursued a free-trade policy. In return we get cheap products and China's infrastructure is growing.

  • This speech is really BS big time. Just the talking points that she reads from the notes provided to her to speak. Kay, you will have to reduce entitlements!!! You voted for Obama's spending and debt. It has to stop.

I wish Jessie Helms was back to have some backbone back in Washington for NC and the United States.

  • Funny, in all that "balanced approach" you couldn't find anything to cut? Found a whole lot of "investing" though. There is NO MONEY!

  • This must be her election term coming up because she ONLY seems to communicate with her constituents near this upcomming election. Twice in the past few years I wrote both her and Senator Burr on issues, and everytime Burr wrote back via snail mail with a response saying what his position is on the matter, and what he'll do about it. Hagan I never heard back from (aside from the automated e-mail). I don't think this is because Hagan ignores her people, but rather a poor job in staffing.

  • never trust someone who reads from a piece of paper to say how they feel

  • Yep - just another tax and spender, spewing platitudes and veiling herself as a woman of the people. 2014 can't come soon enough.

  • Listen to this BS. Typical. She mostly talks about what she won't cut and things that she wants to spend more federal tax dollars on. Let us not address the fact that roughly half the population doesn't pay a dime to "our shared responsibility". Kay is an empty suit (check her party line voting record) just like loverboy Edwards. Interesting that Kay's "taking a lesson tour" didn't include any western cities as is usual.

  • @breadtroll What ever happened to the idea of live within your means. These educated so called reps of the people either can't see, don't care, are job scared, have selfish motives, get off on entertaining themselves and or all the mentioned. If you make 10,000 and spend 20,000 you lose.If you speculate an increase that does not come you lose.Admit you are wrong and confess your true motives Ms. Hagan

  • I do not live in this state but got her email spam. I listened as show spoke in an empty senate floor and said nothing . No plan only the idea that she wants to work together. Duh . Why not spend the 3 minutes and say where are you going to cut - exactly. Detail the top 10 or 20 programs where you will cut spending. Instead she uses the 3 minutes so show she can read a statement that says nothing. How about stop paying money to big oil and spending on ethanol., And dump the Fed,

  • By stating that Medicare is off the table, Senator Hagan, has set a tone that this group of people should not suffer any cuts. The fact is, EVERYONE, regardless of age and sense of entitlement MUST FACE CUTS. The only one's who shouldn't are the kids who were never old enough to vote. Only a SELFISH COWARD would demand their own entitlement at the expense of children who must then pay for it in the future, plus interest.
