Hey, my name is Travis Jacques and I do want this rig and it would be a real blessing. I am only 22 and just started my own production company in Daytona FL. Moving down here and building a website I have not had time to make a video for this but you can see my videos on my site and I pray that it will be enough. royaltycapture . com. I would use this rig for youth conferences and other big church events like the ones on my site (look at DSYC)
i am in need of one of these fig rigs because my hands are very shaky, to the point where i can barely shoot video hand held. i really wish i had seen this earlier because i would have made a video response.
btw, your vids are very helpful especially with magic lantern and the reviews. keep up the great work
The reason why I should get the fig rig is that I've been trying to make one myself for literally 10 months and I'm not getting anywhere. I really want to make movies for YouTube but the footage always comes out shaky. Could you send me one of the fig rigs?
We are starting a film project in our church and are looking for something to keep our videos looking professional. Hoping to keep our costs down but still get the professional result is our main priority. I have seen this rig being used before and I must say, it gives great results to the quality of the movie. It would be really great to win this rig thus it would save us both time and money.
Hey dude...one of these rigs would be sweet...I'm currently a student and I want to be an awesome film maker...but I don't believe in needing expensive gear...it's all to do with the techniques ;) I have a cheap tripod which doubles up as a shoulder rig and this would just be so much easier to hold...I sent a music vid I recently produced...the tracking shots were all done on a wheely chair haha but it worked...I will stop waffling on now!!! Thanks...and great vids...I'm glad I subscribed :P
I would really love a steadycam like this for future films. i have bronchitus right now so I wouldnt be able to film a funny short this week but ill try. Just please consider giving one to me. That would help my filming and I would spread more good news about you and it to others. I will try to get to a video but for now just this comment.
Heloo Dave. I know your telling us we dont need to subscribe but that will help you out alot !!. I subscribed, liked, favorited, and shared this video because your insight with filmography is very helpful to and amaetuer filmaker like me. In October I am getting my first SLR, T3i and I am dedicating my life towards filming. I am a senior in highschool andwant to go to USC's film school. WHen I get this camera, I wont be able to get anything else cause it is expensive for me and my family.
Hi David, its hemaan here from pakistan, i dont know wether i deserve to win this or not but you know that you were the first person who told me to use my T2i, with limited resources in pakistan, we made first two video's of our frend's persian songs. videos hav been made with just your help to operate the camera and a few DYI stuff we made. By looking at the video's if you think that we have done somthin that can win us this present of yours then we would think we have achieved sumfin:) links :
I think I deserve this fig-rig because I'm 16 years old and getting ready to start college applications. I really plan on attending a Film college and I need to start building up my portfolios (which i've somewhat started so far). This fig-rig would really help to keep my short films very smooth and also help me look more profesional (less shake). This would absolutely help me out because I really can't afford to buy all those exspensive rigs that would help me out. Thanks so much!
I think i deserve this fig-rig becasue I'm a low-badget (because i'm 15) vfx videos maker and I have a growing community of subscribers and I want to have better gear in order to make better videos for them, enlarge my followers amount and hopefully be accepted to the youtube partnership program.
btw, I really appreciate it that you dont ask people to like the video, favorite it or subscribe to you. people who does that are just cheating the system! (freddiew quote :P)
Why You should give me fig rig ? I dont know why, but I will try to be honest - because everyone will say that they are new directors, they have no equip, they aren't good and have no stabilizing things like this. I will say, that I am not new - that's true. I will be really surprised if this will come to me. It will support me with a new thing, that let u do action scenes. OK, that's enough, thanks :)
me and my friends are constantly skating with longboards or skimboarding. it is very difficult to hold my dslr low, steady for long beriods of time. also i think it will protect my camera a tad in case of a fall or crash at high speed.
I've recently formed a video making group with a few good friends. Due to the initial expenses for that group (cameras, equipment, ect.) out banks are kinda broken. By winning a fig rig, we would be able to cost effectively (cause it's free) take our videos to the next level with proper stabilization. Because as we all know: shaky videos equal little respect/credibility.
Truth is I probably don't deserve it. I would really like one, though! I used to make movies a little here and there, and I haven't in a while.. I kind of let photography take my life over. I recently found a new inspiration to start making short movies again. by the way, nice new intro :)
I am sorry about the multiple comments, YouTube only allows 500 characters per comment. I will send the entire message to your inbox, so it is easier to read.
I am passionate about filmmaking and I believe that a well-made fig rig can really help my future films so I hope that I will be able to qualify as the "international winner". Thank you for your consideration.
I really enjoyed all of your videos(in particular, the T3i ML tutorial & the fig rig videos), and I am a subscriber of yours on my other account ("TalkandLaugh"). If it is possible, I may film a short skit and leave it as a video response(it really depends on the availability of my friends / free actors).
And because I live in Vancouver, Canada, everything seem to cost way too much (especially PVC prices, almost DOUBLED). Whereas it cost 30 USD for you and indymogul to complete this project, it cost me easily over 50 CAD. I simply do not have the financial capability to afford another $50 for a new fig rig, but I am desperately in need of a stabilizing device.
I was never good at DIY builds, but I especially messed up on the fig rig: I got the angles of the PVC connectors all wrong so now the fig rig is not even flat, the bolt assembly was probably put together incorrectly as well because I cannot fully secure my camera onto the 1/4 bolt. There are many other things wrong with my version of the fig rig, but basically, it is barely usable and I dislike it very much.
My name is Oscar and I am a high school student. I recently got into filmmaking (which means I am a huge n00b basically) and have a VERY low budget. The funny thing is, I actually saw indymogul's tutorial on the fig rig and built my own on Aug.23rd (1 DAY BEFORE YOUR TUTORIAL!!!). I am kind of kicking myself right now because, if I had waited 1 day longer, I believe my build would have turned out much better (your video is much more in-depth and informative).
This device is genius! Would also help me to stop dropping my camera in some of the type of shooting i do. Hey, if i drop my camera while it is attached to this, is that FIG Newtons Law? (lame) Love to make a video with this!!
Because I love your videos, they are very helpful, and I need to improve my production with a stabilizer ;-) Also, I don't like video responding, because my english SUCKS! :)
Who won?
