  • Just wondering, what do u feed and how often do u hvae tpo feed a Fire Eel? Nice Fire Eel u got

  • @SubNamoR Fire-eels are quite difficult to get to eat ive found (had two fire-eels before and a spiny eel).. generally when theyre young theyll eat bloodworm quite easily but when they older you can feed them market prawns (deshelled), bloodworm, live river shrimp and earthworms or nightcrawlers. This big one of mine only ever ate earthworms and fortunately i always had loads in my garden and in winter bought them from a fishing bait shop.

  • @twicksisted Thnx. Do u have to feed once everyday? I feed my fish every other day n theyre quite chunky, I have bichirs, datnoid n cichlids. I had halfbanded n peacock eel before, I handfed them. My halfbanded wasnt picky (eats frozen brine shrimp, bloodworms even freeze dried) but the peacock eel only ate live food.

I plan to get a Fire Eel, just want to plan the feeding ahead b4 I get one. Thnx again.

  • @SubNamoR I used to feed every other day till he was full... sometimes he would go for a couple of days before eating again (like if i went away for the weekend)... they generally are greedy fish and will eat when presented with opportunity (at least mine was)... good luck with yours, they are stunning fish and make fantastic pets!

  • @twicksisted Thanks, very helpful response. Luckily i spotted some 12" Fire eels @ my LFS, appreciate your help.

  • Im surprised the bichirs leave the keyhole cichlids alone, mine destroyed my clawed frog, butterflyfish and congo tetras!

  • Yu should get a few more pictus cats, they are better in groups :P

  • what kind of pipe is that? the fire eel is in?

  • @lifted2500 just a black plastic plumbing pipe i got from the hardware store... i did a mod to one before where i covered it in silicone and gravel, looked pretty good and blended in with the tank better but after about a year it was too full of algae ;)

  • how long did u soak the wood for

  • Love that birchir and fire eel.

  • And another bigger chiclid

  • How big of an aquarium do

You need for 2 oscars 1 jaguar 2 green terrors 2 jack Dempseys and a pleco

  • do the oscars harass the delhezi? i was thinking of housing a jaguar cichlid with a delhezi

  • @Changy6969 no they were all fine together, but every large cichlid has a slightly different personality so yours could be different

  • @Changy6969 i would not put a jag with your polypterus i know with experience my 6 inch female jaguar would not leave my lapradie and delhezi alone always chasing and nipping at them and they are both 12 inches

  • nice tank lovely reds and beautiful fire eel; I guess you already answered this but what size?

  • @221jamo That tank was a 55G, the fish are now in a 150g tank, though i lost the eel and one of the oscars s they managed to jumpo out the tank a while back.

  • what kind of bichir is that?

  • @nativepimp2010 Polypterus Delhezi

  • wow nice oscar

  • DAMN THATS A BIG FIRE EEL

  • BEAUTIFUL ROYAL I WANT IT LOL how much did u pay for him?

  • beautiful fish! your fire eel is absolutly stunning! how big is it?

i have 2 fire eels! what did you feed yours? i want mine to be as beautiful like yours!

please write back id love to know :) i have a video of them upon my channel :)

  • do i see a pleco

  • @sicoarico09 most likely yes... think i had 2 at that stage ;)

    Royal, snowball and common plecos

  • that fire eel's freaken huge!

  • Awsome tank! Like bigtime

  • I think your tank and your fish are beautifiul. You clearly know what you are doing.

  • @Lagomorph3 thank you :)

  • Whats that fish at the start of the video

  • all fish need more room..but this shit nice dnt listen to them hating azz people

  • aaaaaaaa sea monster in a........ a what is that is that a piece of drain pipe

  • Fantastic tank. Fantastic fish. Perfect water. You're obviously a very skilled fish-keeper and easily rate among the best, and you get a thumbs-up all day long from me.

    But...

The filming isn't so great. How about moving the camera just a little less and letting the fish swim in and out of view?

  • @jojjehellyeah fuck you kill your self wtf 200 gallon for 1 oscar well then your head has a damage you dumb fuck i hope you kill your self i hate you fuck you fuck your family asshole putang ina mo means bitchdumb ass fuck you ! ..I.. fuck youuuuuu dumb ass i hope your family Die !

  • @returnofthezohan thank you, that was the growout tank... the new one has 3 times the water volume ;)

  • Wow

    Love it

    Really clean, well looked after

Everyones a fuckin expert on your tank

  • will to oscars and a 18 inch fire eel will be fine in a 90 gal ?

  • how many gallons?

  • this is fucking fish prison.,., got damn

  • serious.,, 2 fishes that grows to half a meter,. in a 200 liter fish tank ., is this a fucking joke,.plus a fire eel and som other fishes,.,. fuckin animnal torture,.

feel bad for those oscars,. get a 300 gallion tank for fuck sake

  • 55 gallon is way to small for 2 oscar,.

200 gallon is minimum for one oscar.

  • @jojjehellyeah actually 50g is the right size for a single oscar... 100g is good for a pair .. ;)

and i trhink youll notice that the fish are very happy and clean when they were in that 55g... I have been keeping tropicals for over 20 years and have had many tanks (including growout tanks like this)... check out my newer vids and youll see i have them in a larger tank ;)

  • @twicksisted Hi I wanted to know if i could put any freshwater eel most likely zigzag eel with 2 clown loaches

    would the eel eat them?

  • @jojjehellyeah dont shit me, 200 gallon for a single oscar, r u crazy

  • @unitedazn111 an oscar grovs up to half a meter,. and a 55 gallon tank is like one meter,. oscar is not a small fish you know,.

  • @jojjehellyeah I think you have your maths wrong. Oscars grow up to around 35cm... though 30cm is more common in captivity and thats after a couple of years... 1 metre = 100cm

Minimum tank for an Oscar for life = 55g

I have over 20 years of experience keeping fish and have had many tanks in my life, when i started there was no internet to learn off and everything i learned was through trial and error. Maybe do the same & learn more about the subject before telling others they are wrong ;)

  • how big is your tank

  • I had an oscar all my life until two days ago, it died.

It was 15 years old and lived with a catfish.

I plan on getting another oscar and a fire eel. Do they get along good. also, what other fish do they get along good with? I have a 55 gallon tank. any advice would help. thanks!

Also, what kind of fish is at 0:33 ?

  • congratulation I have been looking for pictus catfish all over the internet yours take the cake I haven't seen any as large

  • Beautiful fish! Nice tank too, what size is it?

  • hey would a delhezi eat my clown loaches?

  • oh the fire eel are fresh water???...i neva new that till i c the two oscars...

  • nice oscers

  • does your fire eel ever try to eat a smaller fish or would one try to

  • one question how much did he cost or this fish cost

  • i want a big fireeel too i have a small one

  • i love your tank ... the light , the sand and mostly your FISH .... good job and i hope it s still running

  • man that eel is a bit scary!very cool tank, like how the oscars dont fight the other fish, even the keyholes.btw how big are they.they seem small compared to the other fish but im sure they arent very small lol

  • holy shit nice eel!!!!

  • I like ur oscars I have a baby in a 10 gal til I gt mre money then Ima getting him a 55 gal

  • it also does not eat :\

  • mine always jumps out when i have it in the net.....

  • is this fresh or salt? thought plecos were fresh but some of the fish look saltwater ( no idea here )

  • I so want one of those Fire Eels, damn they look bad ass.

  • how big is that tank

  • i really like yur fish and eels they are so cool!

  • THATS GOTTA BE A DINOSAUR BICHIR IN THE BACK! isnt it?

  • beautiful oscars and fire eel :)

  • hey what type of pleco is that

  • WTF is that

    A eel?

  • Comment removed

  • I miss my Fire-Eel so much. :-( I left the top of my tank open just a crack on accident and he jumped out, and my cats ate him.

  • ouch!! sorry to hear that.... I ghave heard that lots of them try to escape... Ive been lucky i guess as mines never tried to get out... the new tank is pretty much open top with overhead luminaire

  • wow sorry but thats funny!

  • @PornFlakes21 i have a fire eel and he won't eat anything but bloodworms wat do i do

  • @ThePatsfish101 thats all they eat when they am small maybe brineshrimp as well then as he grows earthworms also try him with prawns and other meaty foods as he gets bigger but when they small bloodworms their fave

  • magnific royal!!!!

  • he's much bigger now... and looking even more splendid :)

I'll try and get him again in my next video

  • you think i could keep a senegal birchir in a 20 gallon tank???

  • not sure... what are the dimensions of that tank and what type of filtration are you using...

20G does sound a bit small, though senegals dont grow that big either

  • wow fantastic tank, very clean water and healthy fish, how often do u change ur water??

  • cheers... i do roughly 50% once a week... they in a new tank now... check out the latest vids ;)

  • heeey mayun u got a worm problem?

  • lol... you mean the eel :)

Yeah he's a growing problem... he's like 2 ft now... going on 3;)

  • your oscars are awesome, mine is dying :( and ive done everything i could by the way but finrot got him when he was young, and now he is older he just hasnt recovered :( evan with the medication

  • sorry to hear it dude...

~You know sometimes clean water works better than any medication... maybe you need to do a lot of waterchanges often to heal him up

  • Quatar water change every 3 days, and a 1 half after every week when medication was in tehre.. no better.

  • what size tank and what filters you running?

    Sounds about right though...

Also atre you adding a dechlorinator when you do waterchanges?

  • i did 4 weeks of research before getting him lol. His tank is about 60gallons, it filters over around 10times per hour. And yes and it also strenghthens the fishes slime coating.

  • It´s great... a real lovely room...

    congratulations.... see ya

  • thanks :)

  • hhhey man wooont thaaat snakke eat tthatt fishh tank?

  • damm i dont rember saying that lol great vid

  • lol ? :D

  • ya lol my bad bro not sure how that got there

  • thats a beastytank

    i want a fire eel

but i have a few questions

    do they harm other fish

and how would they do in a 55

  • fire eels are very calm (dont keep them with other fire eels as thwey will fight) other than that they wont eat other fish (unless they are tiny like neon tetras ;)

You can keep a fire eel in a 55G like i did for 2 years or so, but eventually id say the mimimum is a 150G for it to grow 3ft long and be happy

  • hey man i have 2 baby oscars a jd a bgk a pleco and a rafiel catfish in a 55 do you think i can fit a green terror in there to if its a baby like my ocars and jd

  • I tried to keep a GT with my current fish and it was far too aggressive... i guess each fish is different slightlym but Green terrors are called terrors for a reason ;)

I wouldnt reccomend it unless you had a very large tank.

  • I really want a fire eel but my 55 is too small. But i am going to get a peacock instead do you think i could have a peacock and a dino bichir? common name Polypterus Delhezi

  • yeah i reckon that would work fine.... fire / peacock eels are quite bendy and not that active, so as long as he can swim a bit and has a nice cave he'll be happy... also a Del (which is what I have) should be alright in a 55 ... i had mine in a 55 for about a year

  • dont do it i tried mixing lots of fish in my 120 gallon and i ended up returning fish ...those oscars are gonna beef up in no time and it will get crowded

  • Niiiice oscars and fire eel! I caught a climpse of a keyhole too ;) Very nice

  • thank you... i just uploaded a new vid... you can see more of the other cichlids in the tank (blue acara, firemouth, keyholes, convicts and geophagus)

  • hey man i have a video and i go to upload it and i write everything and get everything done but it doesnt upload it just stays in my videos what do i do to get it to upload?

  • im not sure... have you tried emailling youtubes customer service?

  • hey man i have a common pleco about 7 inches long he used to be very active and eat algee wafers. now i have a little white house and he hasent come out from it in a good 2 weeks but i see him moving around inside it. do you think somethings wrong?

  • nah he's fine... they are nocturnal animals and dont like too much light... youll probably see him swimming around at night time after the lights are out. also when they grow up they tend to not be so shy... I think when they are small its instinctive to hide wherever they can

  • dude i thought the fire eel and oscars were awsome. what r the dimensions, and volume of ur tank id relly like to know, also how do you clean the sand.

  • the tank is 5ft X 2ft X 2ft (150gallons US).

I just use a tube to siphon water out of the tank... and hover it above the sand to suck up any debris... if any sand gets sucked up into the bucket, it usually stays in the bottom of the bucket after I change the water and I can scoop it back in again :)

  • I love that eel!!!

  • so do I... hes awesome and so friendly

  • do you have names for these fish?

  • a few of the older ones have names... burt the royal pleco... Mambo the fire-eel... but we mostly call him eely (lol) ray the synodontis... turbo and charge the pimelodius pictus cats... the oscars are very distinctive so we havent ever named them... ones a red oscar and the other a tiger so its pretty easy to tell apart... they are known as "the oscars" hehe... chav the common pleco... the new cichlids we havent named yet as they were so small i thought they would get eaten.we'll name them soon

  • you have some of the best colored oscars ive ever seen! great work!

  • thank you :)

  • and whats that fish called thats green shorter then the fire eel ????

  • its a bichir

  • is one full grown fire eel ok in a 65 gallon tank or would i have to up grade???

  • it would be fine for a while but they do grow 3ft long... so youll need to make sure that it has space to swim when its bigger

  • a long 65 gallon wud do fine

  • Comment removed

  • thanks man, I think I can live with appx 2 years until I upgrade. I just hope my filter setup can keep it as clear as yours

  • if not, then i highly reccomend a fluval FX5... I got 2 of them now in my 150G, but one of them was fantastic to keep in a 55g :)

  • hey, how big would you say I need for one fire eel? I have a 55 gallon but I dont know how long it will be until he outgrows it.

  • I had mine in a 55 for 2 years... now hes in a 150... they grow 3ft long so youll need at least a 5ft tank

  • cheers :)

  • if you were a gold fish in that tank for 5 minutes then you went back to normal would you be scared?.....all you got to do is out smart the fish lol

  • I think a goldfish would be ok in there as long as it was a big one.... my oscars are very placid and tame and dont eat the keyholes even which could fit in their mouths sideways

  • What is your P.H. level?

  • sweet bichir and also nice water quality

  • thanks :)

  • wow ur tank is amazing. what size tank is that?

  • cheers mate... its A 5x2x2... (125g uk / 150g us)

  • Love the Oscars and eel, very nice.

  • cool thanks mate... take a look at my new vids... got them in a much bigger tank now :)

  • kool tank

  • how long did it take your eel to get that big mines only about 8 inches but hes realy slim oh and does he eat the other fish

  • He's roughly 2 years old... still got a bit to grow on him yet :)

He will eat loads of earthworms (nightcrawlers)... river shrimp and I guess if the fish are small enough to fit in his mouth he would go for those too.

you can fatten yours up on earthworms, they love those and get really thick eating them

  • the eel is nice and big dont usually see one tht thick nice

  • cheers mate :)

  • how many gallons

  • that was in a 55G... (have moved them to a 100G now... check my more recent vids)

  • wow! nice tank and a weird combo of fishes, I love it! that eel is my fav, never seen such bold eels. whats the tank size?

  • thanks bro... it works really well with these fish together... trick is to grow them all up together from small babies, then they work well.

The tank is a 55G at the moment but i am upgrading them soon.

In the mean time I am seriously over filtering the tank to keep the water parameters perfect..

  • I wish my fire ell was that big oh and nice pleco

  • thanks bro... dont you worry... they do grow... and big... you looking at 33" when adult ;)

  • i adore that tank,i love oscars as well as eels. one question is there any difference between tire track eels and fire?

  • They both come from south east asia, though the fire-eel grows longer and is more colourful. Tiretrack eels grow to about 70cm long in the wild... whereas fire-eels grow up to 100cm long in the wild.

  • hello m8 aint spoke to u in a while, hows you? i notice u used to have a clown knife, i wanted to know can u keep them with a BGK? also nice tank well dun!

  • Hey dude... all well this side... had some great weather today!!! boiling :)

I cant see a problem with keeping a CK and a BGK together... as long as they have their own hiding spots as they both like to hide.

Only problem with a CK is that it grows massive!!! and really quickly too... youll need a large tank to house an adult and its going to grow much bigger than the BGK and quicker too.

  • yh i no it was boiling but had a nice BBQ! lol! ok cheers i will be buying it about 4-5'' so i'll have some time to let it grow

  • Thanx!Yes my fire eel was too small, and my oscars ate it!But your eel is fantastic! What do you feed them?My oscars get goldfish once a week, and other days eat hikari cichlid gold!

  • Its a real pity as they uisually make great friends for oscars. I feed my fish Hikari Massivore Pellets (very smelly), Tetra Doromin sticks, Frozen Bloodworm, earthworms from the garden & live river shrimp which they love best. I have had my oscars with other small fish since they were little so they dont seem to take much notice of feeder fish.

  • Whatch those Synodontis when they get bigger dude. I had to get rid of mine because it started chomping the fins on my Fire Eel.

  • Thanks for the headsup.. if it came down to it, Id definately rehome the synodontis if that happened. He does fight with my plecos but thats a territory thing... the eel has his own tube (actually he has 2 to choose from) so I dont think they tangle much

  • yea i was thinking about that i had a breeding male and female once but got rid of them, mite get four and get another pair was cool last time.

  • sounds good probly will end up doing that that aint a bad price at all i will have to go to another shop though after paying £100 for a 305,yea goona get one soon,my tank is empty at the minute because i gave my oscars away just all of a sudden wouldnt stop fighting!! had them for bout 18months too o well gonna get some more!!!!

  • you should get 4 oscars... then grow them up and see which ones make a pair.

out of the four you will most likely get a male and female and if you get them all at the same time, they will probably pair off... then you can sell the ones that dont pair.

  • yea i know ive heard they are good but how much are they? i spent a hundred on my fluval 305!! need another filter tho my tanks 5x2x2 and hard to keep clean!!!

  • yea there is always a spot where poo collects!! haha good job man looks good keep it up set up looks great,im getting another fluval 305 to improve flitration,im getting new oscars soon one baby albino and one tiger and a green terror put vids on soon as set up.

  • you should seriously consider a fluval FX5... fantastic filter! best ive ever had! :)

Just fill up the whole thing with ceramic bio!

  • I paid £149.99 in a shop for mine, but online you can pick up an FX5 for £125.00... just do a google search ;)

They seriously beefy filters and solidly built... and at that price nothing touches it.

you can use your 305 to do water polishing and put carbon and zeolite etc... and just pack the FX5 full of bio chips

  • tanks looking good mate fish look healthy that bloody fire ell is as long as my arm lol, oscars look amazing and i love your set up,you must have some good filtration coz that tanks clean!!! i run my oscar tank on a fluval 305 filter, what gallon tank is that? i have a 75,looking good 10/10

  • thanks dude... :)

I love that Eel, hes such a charachter!

The tank is a 55G Eheim tank and its been up and running for 1.5 years now... I'm running a Fluval FX5 packed full of Bio & a Tetratec EX1200 packed full of Zeolite, Activated Carbon and mechanical filter pads...

together they work well at keeping it spotless, though I do have some areas still where fish poo gets stuck!

  • that pleco is so neat

  • The royal pleco weve had for about a year now and he just hides all day... and dosent seem to be growing much atall... The common pleco though has an amazing charachter and is out and about all day and night :)

  • cheers :)
