@SPB282008 that's so true. I lived in Ottawa and there are more leafs fans than sens fans. Even at my high school, my teachers had a sens vs. leafs war going on. All the students knew that if the leafs lost a game against the SENS, all the teachers who are leafs fans would be in a bad mood the next day since the SENS fans would gloat in their faces. I always hoped that they didn't grade essays right after a loss..

Beautiful job KesselySnipes!! As far as Phaneuf is concerned, I think he'll make an excellent captain. He's already changed the tempo of the dressing room. He's been working out and leading the Leafs through August workouts. He even invited Nazem Kadri to his summer home in P.E.I. This team flushed out a lot of deadwood in the deals with Calgary and Anaheim. I know he has a big hit on the cap, but I still can't believe the Leafs acquired him for what they gave up.

They might have missed the playoffs since the lockout but now we have a young core. Something we have not had since the lockout. They will be very good, very soon.

@SPB282008 Although my exposure to him as a player is admittedly less than yours, I don't think it's a question of the spotlight going to his head. I think the problem was Phaneuf knew he had the confidence and the skills to be 'the guy' but he wasn't going to get the chance to be 'the guy' in Calgary with guys like Iginla and Regehr already there. His first day as a Leaf, Phaneuf grabbed the team by the balls and asserted his leadership. I honestly think he'll be a great captain.
