I have been saying for years that I thought that Bruce was ready to venture into the blues. And I think that this was one hell of a first shot at it! Man, I hope to see more soon!! The Boss!!
Hmmmm.....You can see he was experimenting with this style (or this sound) during the last few tours. I remember during the Devils and Dust tour he did a version of Reason to Believe in this style --- mixed results........but it's sound good here!
bruce, i cant believe how good your voice sounds....saw you in 88 in munich and couple a days ago in LA. i was in the back of the arena. i got up...and upgraded my seat til i got the rows behind you... i had to feel it...sorry ticket masters, that was highly illegal... i saw u eating the energy packs...i'm more than 20 years younger and dunno if i could have that energy and force....i wonder how you do it...you havent lost any power it seems...besides,,this vid is BLUES @ ITS BEST. amAvail2JAM!
I have only gotten to a few songs past good eye so far, but my favorite are Cowboy Pete, Good Eye and Queen of the supermarket/Working on a dream or okay
This album only ranks in the middle of his body of work... but that's still light years ahead of nearly all other musicians. Can't complain! Thanks, Maria.
My Lucky Day had been my favorite of the album until I heard this song.....God I wish he would put out more Blues music. This was just UNBELIEVABLE.
Only bad thing it's only 3 minutes long and 9 lines long. Mercy I wish he had made this one longer, definitely my favorite of the album. Thanks for posting it
at the super bowl he should play born to run to get the crowd into it then bust into badlands then play what love can do and finish out with the rising
I'm not saying I'm comparing them - this song doesn't sound like Dylan to me, I'm just saying Bruce'd see it as a compliment. Dylan's still a big example for Bruce and lots of other artists. Look it up, it's true. Bob Dylan's one of the greatest musicians in history, it's not a bad thing when your music's being compared to his.
Would Howlin' Wolf have been a more appropriate reference? It's sounds like great, bluesy, fun track. Don't get upset. I wasn't trying to offend you or Bruce's music.
still think it was the best song on the album

Bruce started out in blues music - as many musicians do. Just one of his many influences.

Here's my guess:
1. My Lucky Day // Radio Nowhere
2. Queen of the Supermarket // Kingdom of Days
3. Good Eye
4. Badlands // Glory Days // Rising

Aaaah, I love this! One of the best songs from the new album.
And I actually think Bruce'd see it as a compliment when he's being compared to Bob Dylan ;)

I'm not agree with that comparation..
Bruce and Dylan are very much different since the voice 'till the beauty !!
