Hello there, can you tell me PLEASE what kind of projectyor is that?, everytime you write something ,the projector startts to project it too?. Very helpfull video too, thank you in advance
I'm not sure how the newer version work, but the older boards would be connected to a PC whose screen would output through the projector. Through some fancy software, you could "write" on the board and then save it on your computer when you were done. Sort of like an overly complicated touch-screen. If you look closely, you'll see the letters are lagging behind slightly as he writes.
It's like the seven chakras. That starts with the physical layer and gets more advanced as it goes up. Each layer talks horizontally to the same layer in the other person.
bit confused about the issue of hubs and repeaters...living on the physical layers, yet a switch lives on the data link layer....I have encountered a few times where "hubs" did act as switches....never a repeater though...this could be an issue of semantics, but I have heard of older switches referred to as "hubs"....and they for sure deal with frames on the second layer....just an observation.....it could be helpful to make that distinction....that sometimes "hubs" are called "switches"
Its a pretty good vid but, I really dislike the fact that routers and switches are not considered part of the physical layer..I mean anything on the network is physical..So it is confusing. I know you did not create the osi model but I think you can see what I mean..Even though in essence, these physical objects you referred to are more of a reference to the job they do..The vid makes sense. But I just wanted to put that out there.
@stopthepolicestate - Thanks for your comments, the OSI layer is quite complex and you need to think of the Physical layer just for Physical Cabling. The references to the layers are there to say which of the layers is most suitable for a device. The router is a smart device, smart enough to work at layer 3 so hence we reference it there. Hope this helps! Phil
Please post another video like this... Further explanation of OSI is needed. Too many people are much too simple and don't answer real life question or exam questions. You're doing a great job Phil and we would all like to see more.
man, such a well detailed session until some c0*k walks in because he was bored. Sessions like these can help people pass exams! So please make a whole session. Thanks
thats an amazing explanation. excellant teaching skills. amazing electronic white board.I like the marker/eraser and the way you moved the lil window on the white board. now i understand which layer belongs to hubs/switches/routers. excellent video...sad that it ended abruptly :(
