@GoonNpk Sup Goon, the video taken here was during practice and some of the demonstrations, the competition included not only "dancing" but fighting as well...
too bad you can't fight with this... what happened to the original purpose of gongfu? Looks like dancing and gymnastics is more important than teaching these people how to defend their lives.
Haha wait till you see the fighting sampler I'm working on, this was just to show the tricks of this competition, but the show was judged on traditional and contemporary forms, weapons, fighting and extra talent skills... I see you do Kungfu San Soo, is that under Jimmy Woo's teaching? Much respect to your system I personally am a good friend of Artie Dison =D
hey, pretty intresting even tho looks alot like wushu to me, im a kung fu martial artist, from the shaolin wing chuns nam anh kung fu school u can check it out on youtube, its also a tradiational school hehe
I think the answer to that question is "since it has become high level martial skills." Wherever your view lies, martial arts have always been called arts. I think it just takes experiance in practice and philosophy to understand the true meaning of these things.
In application many things have benefits to the body unseen by the eye. It just takes an open mind and a good teacher to explain the underlying value... out of all the martial disciplines you can see in time that regardless of the outer presentation the core fundamentals and philosophies are still similar.
if applications is the goal, then why add in all these fancy flipkicks and twirls that no one would ever use in a fight? have u seen ppl use them and walk away the winner, because i havent
For body skill and coordination, those types of practices act as excercise for strength and agility which can be of upmost importance. Watch less videos and explore more martial arts in person. You will soon understand...

is it me or i just dont get the falling on ground on purpose part?
OmGiTzNiCk 3 years ago
You'll only understand it if you can comprehend its meaning and definition.
You try jumping like Gu Shang Wei did, and landinig on the ground, like he did, without fear :D
darkOmniRa02 3 years ago
The falling on your back is actually for practical purposes. It's just another method for safe falling almost similar to judo rolls and safe falling.
