1. Jupiter could not turn into a black hole because it needs to have an extremely large mass that would have to implode and affect space-time to create singularity, which has a huge amount of gravity strength so not even photons of light can escape.

But let's assume that black holes can not move and our solar system did pass one it would be impossible for it to start at Jupiter because there is the kuiper belt and then the Oort cloud and even more rock fragments that are actually like a shield around the solar system.

Black holes aren't all that horrifying. If somehow Earth were to degenerate this rapidly, It would undoubtedly be inevitable, and quite impossible to stop. Trying to run away from it or fear it, which running away is the point of, is useless, seeing as we would be unable to.

Pretty impressive, and I mean the chilling lack of science is. I'm just a housewife, but wouldn't tidal forces pick apart--and then spaghettify and break down to component quarks or smaller--all those pretty planets so near to the black hole? Just asking. Love the music, though. And the animation was thunderous. I liked the earthquake footage--as a former Californian, I DO find that scary!

@kghsbassboy Well technically a black hole IS a hole in the fabric of space time. Gravity itself is the result of "holes" in space time caused by massive objects bending it.

well they say light is the fastest thing in existance PERIOD? well if a beam of light cannot escape a black hole then isnt the black hole faster and therefore they have contradicted themselves have they not? that would make a black hole (if they indeed exist,and btw its not a hole at all but they say its a very massive point of matter that has a strong gravitational pull on all surrounding objects,it wouldnt go into the "hole" per say but just get crushed on the surface of the self imploded star

@kghsbassboy There is no "surface" of the star left to crash into. It has formed a singularity at that point, the "surface" of the star the black hole once was is continually imploding, falling in on itself tighter and tighter trying to attain a point of infinite smallness.

There is no way this would happen because
1. Jupiter could not turn into a black hole because it needs to have an extremely large mass that would have to implode and affect space-time to create singularity, which has a huge amount of gravity strength so not even photons of light can escape.
2. If this were to happen to our sun, it would have already blown off lots of hydrogen in it's interior to increase in size and overtake earth fully before on goes supernova or black hole.

It couldn't of been a star because there is no star right next to Jupiter, and the only thong that can make a black hole is a staf besides the centers of galaxies.

@TheCarbonade FYI, There is no amount of rocket power that can stop something from orbiting a rotational black hole in the centre of a galaxy. But let's assume that black holes can not move and our solar system did pass one it would be impossible for it to start at Jupiter because there is the kuiper belt and then the Oort cloud and even more rock fragments that are actually like a shield around the solar system.

@patikotron3000 I agree with you, and there is no way jupiter could turn into a black hole, I am just saying that in the video it seems like they are simulating the gas giant Jupiter is being "eaten" up by a black hole. I did not understand the shield part of what you wrote. Simply because I don't think rock fragments would stop a black hole when black holes can rip apart pretty much everything because of its gravitational power.

@patikotron3000 , This could happen. For one, you appear to not understand the material contained in this video. Jupiter wouldn't turn into a black hole because it is not a star, it is a planet. Second, our star... the sun.. wouldn't because it will not die as a supernova, but a white dwarf.. thats the type of star we have. The sun isn't even turning into a black hole in the video, it's being engulfed by a black hole.
