I remember this game. I enjoyed it, mainly cause I like the Addams Family. I remember there was no game genie codes for it, so I started experimenting. The only code I ever found by messing with the random codes was one that mad ethe enemies invisible. As if the game wasn't already difficult with the guns.
I disagree with you on the whip (if you have the best one). Those multiplying enemies are annoying, and the flame whip takes it out inone shot. It's very useful in the final stage.
This is one of those games that plagued me as a kid and yet I rented and rented this game. Good memories even though I never passed it as a kid. I passed it a few years ago with save states, the first I saved stated and save stated but after you get health the game is actually playable and I found myself never falling back in save states in the end. It was one of my favorite rented games of all time though.
This was one of the very first 5 games I ever bought for my system. Thanks for doing this. It would have been easier for me imo if it had a save ability like Zelda did.
lol you know waaaay too much.... how do you keep all this game trivia in your head? If there was an exam on all these old NES games I'm sure you'd get an A+
Not sure if you remember me, but I made you're friend dance during some live show featuring Chrono Trigger.
I'm glad you have this play it through up, because it's helped me out for playing Fester's Quest. I'm a big fan of Sunsoft, and their music is often great. Keep up the great work!
Nicely done walkthrough. Good job overall. And to answer the question of what Fester is doing. The aliens kidnap Gomez in the intro and Fester must track down and kill the alien bosses to retrieve the map of the space ship to find where Gomez is and rescue him. God help me I know this...
This game is identical to the overhead portions of blaster master I find. Similar enemies (as you pointed out) and the sound effects are recycled too. It's like they took that portion of the game and made into its own thing.
I played the heck out of this game back in the day. Without cheating, I could get as far as the fourth boss, but I could NEVER beat him. I'm tempted to do a "Blatantly Cheating Theatre" with this game, just so people can see the whole thing. Still, great video!
You nailed it: farming for gun upgrades is absolutely necessary in this game, and not quite because of shots going around enemies but because of shots hitting walls in narrow areas. Turbo shooting is for quitters though--give me some button mashing any day when it comes to shooters.
