If i were you i'd definately go for virgin media, rather than Bt vision. You get the same for your money or even better quality, and it doesn't wipe out radio waves. Nearly the whole of my street has virgin media. Virgin media= Awesome!!!!! Thats powerful stuff!
I got this, but I usually watch TV whilst I work. I have to download lots of stuff though, so I was shocked to find that even though the saleswoman said it didnt use the internet (I presumed the on demand would be like sky box office) that my download speeds dropped from 2.4mbps to 0.8mbps when BT vision was on. Even if I'm just watching freeview. I could watch freeview bfore without paying £15 a month! I guess this is more the salesperson's fault. There isn't much thats not on freeview though.
i work for bt and after working for them and seeing how great the vision was in work i got it myself, i personally think its amazing, and so much cheaper than sky, i had a guy call me telling me he watched this video and wanted bt vision after seeing it, i saved him over £60 on his monthly bills!!!!
We filled in a form on Ofcom's website, two blokes called and checked the interference, which was coming from the networking plug-in-the-wall things. They've ordered BT to hard-wire the network and remove the plug-in-the-wall crap that was wiping out everyone's radios. So far, BT aren't in any hurry though :(
Our neighbour got this, and now we can't listen to our radio any more, it's wiped out by a damn screeching/buzzing noise 24/7. How can they be allowed to do this?
i got bt vision and im a big wrestling fan so its good u can get exclusive tna shows on their and at the time im typing this im watching my wife and kids on their 4 free on demand
What they don't tell you is that the BT Vision power line adaptors they supply will wipe out your neighbours shortwave radios for up to 500 meters from your house! they fail to comply with EMC regulations. Would have expected more from BT, but then I guess they make a quick buck from you before you legally have to remove them from use LOL
just got it today and its great much cheaper and better than sky i mean you need to get sky plus to stop ect. the show and that cost over like £20 were as this its £6 for me and i can all of that for £6 !!!! bt vision awesome
BT IS RUBBISH. Free Setanta ? WHOA. Setanta is rubbish. And the rest of the stuff you can get on Sky Plus. I love my Sports. I cant watch good football matches, Finals, and I'll be watching boring football matches on Setanta.
what comedy shows can you watch on demand? southpark? family guy? american dad? two and a half men? I really want to know because im considering it! thanx
Interesting.. I'm getting this tomorrow apparently, and it looks fairly good. It seems pretty fast, but that's expected I guess as it has 64MB of RAM and VRAM, and a 266Mhz clock speed (faster than a PSP with no hacks), and works using the Microsoft Mediaroom operating system. It was a useful video, as it shows the box and remote as they are in real life, not all polished and under studio lighting like on the BT site.

Does the box need a phone line? Or does it need a network wire connecting? Or both?
