  • he was one well-spoken motherfucker

  • At 1:29, hes saying something about oil and water, i cant make it out. Can anyone help?

  • @KlootfioolDnIerste he says we reached peak oil and that people continue with business as usual... if you understand what peak oil means, then you'll be able to grasp why BAU is bad :(

  • As Shaw said: "If you're going to tell people the truth, you better make them laugh; otherwise they'll kill you."

Noone could made me laugh harder than Carlin.

  • The first sentence is just DAMN

  • Not funny is it ; it's bloody peculiar this life. Gotta keep on keeping on.... ;-j

  • When people ask me to name one person I would resurrect I say:''George Carlin.''

  • I swear by George Carlin. He said god doesn't exist, but he was god.

    RIP

  • What a cool guy. I'm glad so much of his stuff is all over You Tube.

  • George was a modern day Socrates. A quite angry and funny Socrates but nonetheless Socrates.

  • Ancient greece put men like carlin on a pedastal and gave them the respect they deserved, today the media ridicules them and they have the title of 'comic' rather than wise man or philosopher

  • @maxdorries Don't forget what happened to Socrates.

  • @Tyrfingr thank you for clearing my ignorance on socrates' death. Even they felt one could be too wise for their pedastal

  • Zen like indeed!

  • I love the part where he says you can smell the end coming. I've thought that long before i discovered george.

  • @Ingle92protege Im pretty sure it was a heart attack. He went to the hospital because he had chest pains and died a few days later. His health was deteriorating, you could tell, but he always kept his mind and he remained funny until the end. So joe pesci bless George!

  • It's only 2:51 seconds, but packed with awesome. This is a truly amazing little snippet.

  • In my opinion, the funniest man who ever lived.

  • @Slash417 in our opinion =)

  • i love you man.

  • heard him for the first time...and i feel sad that i never seen any of his show..R.I.P George.

  • I sure do miss the old fuck.

  • LONG LIVE GEORGE!!!!!!!!! XOXOXO

  • George Carlin is one of my heroes, and I was lucky enough to see him here in Vegas before he died, but his criticisms of humanity are really inane. As if nobody but him are concerned about the worlds problems, or that the invention of tequila lollipops negate the wonders of modern science.

It's possible to be a skeptic and a realist, that's what I think of myself as, but it's another thing to be off-the-wall with absurd conspiracy theories and the us-vs-them mentality which is reactionary.

  • @F33bs It's another thing to have your own viewpoints and base them off your experiences with life.

  • it would be nice to see the full interview.

  • Damn, he could have easily lived another 20 years if his heart had held out. He was so damn smart and sharp in his thinking. I hope I still have it together like that at his age.

  • Saw him in concert many times over the years & saw/listened to how his comedy changed. Didn't always agree with him - but he was damn funny & his point of view was to be considered. Intelligent comedy - where is it nowadays?

  • @caw38122 Same here, my not always agreeing with him simply shows that I'm not a sheep or a fanboy or some other (at best) semi-accurate shit, I view Carlin logically and objectively, and anything I say about Carlin doing something right comes from observation, ruling out a few of the more unlikely possibilities, and noticing that even after all this time, he's still right, or at least astonishingly close.

  • George Carlin was a motherfucker, but everybody else out there reading this is a cocksucker!

  • If he didn't want anyone to think, then he shouldn't have been so "on target" with every damn thing he said... Cause he made me think!! R.I.P. George.. You left a beautiful streak across the universe..

  • @AZtwoNE Your comment brings tears to my eyes, good tears! I couldn't agree with you more. Namaste.

  • FUCK them they don't and never could have the presentation that these two posses and to me that goes a long way....and also they break out and get to the heart of "REAL" issues, tackling religion, government, sex, language, differences...similarities, the pros and cons of our evil, music, love, laughter and truth, and the kicker is they're both of the mind set that we all one and thats all there is, thats what this is, thats where we are, and thats why we have the problems we do

  • @trakkaton because we are the creators not just the created....we are the music makers and the dreamers of dreams. the miraculous isn't confined to fiction, as most people tend to "beLIEve"

  • george carlin and bill hicks the BEST philosphers of all time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @patient6407

Well, you didn't stumble across Robert Anton Wilson, Henry David Thoreau and Friedrich Nietzsche, then?

  • 1984 vs Brave new world? Orwell vs Huxley?? Huxley WINS. Tyranny through pleasure, not oppression and control.

  • Carlin was my favorite comic ever. Politically, he was one of the most fucked up people I have ever seen. Blames everything on "rich white people", which he is one of...

  • @jwandhistools you just dont understand what he means by that. by rich white people he means fascist business owners, its more expensive to do good for everyone than it is to make them selfs rich. and yes thats completely true. for instance oil companies that refuse to let car companies make cars that dont need oil because thats bad business for there own company. and than you, the poor lower class gets the bill, you pay for a car that runs 3.85$ a galon of gas to run a piece of shit.

  • @jwandhistools and no hes not fucked up, politically hes correct in everything he says maybe you should watch a few more political issues he brings up maybe he can flush out that brain washed propaganda thats jammed in your stupid brain. and maybe one day when your tossed to the bottom of the barrel you will understand how bad uve been getting fucked. or maybe you wont learn, many dont.. nevermind forget what i told you go buy an ipod like the rest of the sheep.

  • FORD??? HOLY FUCKNUTZ!!!

  • Without a doubt one of the greatest men of the last Century, really miss this old fuck.

  • scanadinavia, south korea, japan, some europeans countrys obviously likes george and other thinkers.

  • George Carlin is my Religion!

  • @SeanConnery9000 Excellent idea!!! at least george talks the truth

  • @SeanConnery9000

    you nigger

  • @SeanConnery9000 Same here:)

  • That's not his point, idiot.

  • @diddymuck

    like your mother's cunt

  • I had these thoughts since I was 5 O: I wish I could've met him :(

  • Check out, The Venus Project!

  • Everyone should experience a psychedelic trip.

  • great man. RIP.

  • What a genius. Simply genius.

  • its truly a sad thing when someone as brilliant as carlin dies.

  • @frollun2 i always dream of him comming back to life and he taking me as his son

  • @frollun2 So sad as to be depressing LMFAO...

  • @frollun2 dont know if u know this but everybody dies

  • God. Damn. He was brilliant.

  • Human's behaving civilized that idea is way to radical to put in to practice everyone one who is for peace and love MLK, Malcolm X, JFK all talked about peace and what happened they got killed humans are not ready for that yet.... sad but true

  • He has a point. If you're not laughing, you're taking things too seriously, generally speaking. Everything works better when you're relaxed and well humoured.

  • Nice one...

Leave the 'Tribal Conscience' and 'Think for Yourself'. In doing so 'EGO' (Edging Out God) is replaced by 'SPIRIT' (Higher Conscience)... God Brain... Christo Conscience... Enlightenment!!!

  • i think he just described nihilism.

  • He may have said thing that people didnt like but they needed to be said. Some people need the extra kick in the ass to get moving and wake up ( not literally mind you) and you know what? If I am like George, I dont really mind. Infact thank you, he was a good comedian and a realist. If you dont bleieve in what he says then tough, dony watch the videos and dont comment.

  • Shut the fuck up globetrekker....your a jackass who cant rap or rhym for fuck...go away and you should watch what you say, it's offencive. George Carlin was a smart and hilarious man, how dare you say something so fucked up, and pompus...your a jackass.

  • offensive*

  • Can you explain exactly what you mean by this cos i'm confused?

  • I believe this is what they call "writing in tongues".

  • lol. I was thinking the same.

  • Religion is just an instrument to control primitive people and it is trying to prevent us form questioning so the upper 1% can keep 'fuckin' with us. Open your eyes!Be realistic!

It s like communism...Nice idea but did not work.

    R.I.P George Carlin

  • Communism didn't work because humans do not have the mentality suited for it.

I can't defend religion. There are too many versions. But I must make the point that not all religion is bad, and God certainly isn't. Plus I'd like to ask if you're just talking Christianity or Hinduism or Buddhism or Judaism as well.

  • I agree with you about communism if people actually strived to be better people for no reward or maybe for the reward that it would have to the human race then it could work but we are a greedy, ignorant, arrogant species, led by morons and assholes.

  • we are only as bad as our environment makes us, if we grew up without all the bullshit around us like marketing and pressure sales and get rich quick people and whatnot, we would be helping each other. Humans arent fundamentally bad, we're fundamentally neutral and become a product of our environment.

  • actually our enviroment is other people

so what made those other people bad? other people

so either it was a 50/50 with the first groups of people who had no real enviroment to shape them or people are just a little confised and shoud really just stay at home

  • communism didnt work because rich capitalists who wanted more money for themselves had the power to spread their propaganda, and now they are turning what remnants of capitalism we have into fascism.

  • now i agree with most of your points but have you ever read the old testament?

GOD is worse than hitler, stalin and mao put together

  • you're referring to the Christian God, and truly, gods are much more terrible and powerful than people in many theologies. that's to be expected. however, concerning what humans actually know about, spiritualism is a good thing and religion is as good as literature if you don't let it be an excuse for you to stop thinking. i will not reject god(s) as long as the possibility of existence remains.

  • well the people who fought these holy wars didnt have modern tech to blast people with

im sure the religious nuts will make good use of our loose nukes in the next 100 years or so to catch up eh?

  • ha I'd say its gonna be a lot sooner than that

  • I said that in philosophy class once and my teacher went on a tangum, that if you think realistically, you stop dreaming...he also said, that it's impossible to think objectively and that if you know you have to be arrogant...this dude got chosen, the teacher of the year sadly...people are fucking stupid.

  • humans, being imperfect as they are, need both the realism to survive and the dreams for motivation. and indeed, it is difficult to think objectively unless one is fully open to having their opinion challenged and even altered. depends if you're seeking to defend specifically your own beliefs or seek to refine them.

  • I think...If you don't think realilistically, you don't dream...if there's nothing wrong what is there to dream about?...and if you can't distinguish between reality and dream anymore you can hit the road anyway...but this guy, was fascinated by peter sloterdjik, german philosopher, who criticized the cynical decency and anybody outing themselves as one, has to be attacked, cause they're intruding in his narcisstic illusion...isnt he himself a cynic then?...it still pisses me off lol

  • now that makes sense. "what is there to dream about?" I haven't thought of it that way before. my original defense was that reality and dreams complement each other, but the idea that they make each other is very interesting. i like. =]

now that you put it that way, it'd piss me off, too. lol. oh well. that's reality for you. people like that exist. =/ alas, not a cynical statement.

  • dreams are the expression of reality

if you deny it your dreams will follow

  • If your dreaming, then your alseep... ignorance may be bliss, but it leads to destruction

  • i love this guy!! he's awesome.

  • I don't believe there is a god, but I'm so glad there was a GEORGE CARLIN.... so funny, so perceptive; I can watch some of his HBO specials over and over, enjoying every minute of them every time!

  • butchpinkston do you classify yourself as one of these highly intellectual people? You sound pretty stupid to me.

  • Wow, and I mean WOW.

    How great was George Carlin?

    Damn shame he's gone......

  • There arent many people I rate very highly, but this man is one person Id have loved to have met.

  • You blind religious fuck Ivarelaa! FUCK YOU! Carlin is one of the rare geniuses of this time and you could use a little of his rationality. You're the kind of shmuck that creates war and thinks you're doing the right thing. FUCK YOU AND EVERYONE LIKE YOU!!!

  • Never make a comment about Carlin again PLEASE!! With your religious bullshit, he wouldn't want it. Your not on his level. And I do mean INTELLIGENCE.

  • you are entitled to your beliefs, but why do you even watch Carlin if you know he is blashpemous and offends you?I don't get Christians.I avoid the Christians that push their belief on others. Personally I don't care what you believe. I bet Jesus would have never used your words. They were a bit evil and cruel. Carlin was very spiritual.

  • Why don´t you die and go see Jesus?, because as Carlin used to say, and I agree with that..."All Christians want to do is to die, and go see Jesus"... let people enjoy what you can´t and get the fuck out of the places you´ll feel offended about. . . Im insulting you because you are insulting me with your stupid pointless presence.

  • Well here we have this amigo tjoenmx. I can tell you amigo: Todos vamos a morir unos más tempranos que otros.

. . vive feliz y deja vivir . . . no critiques.

  • "stupid rationalism" is an oxymoron my friend because you too are rational as you accept knowledge imposed on you that you deem viable. Where as we may agree that gravity exists because WE say its rational. humans are the only beings capable of rationalization. thus we create what is rational. your faith can and cant be rational at the same time because you first believe it then acknowledge its possibility. where as if you only acknowledged the possibility you'd have no need to make it rational.

  • .....and no one will go.

  • Gee, he was here a minute ago..

  • For my 17th birthday in 1987, I didn't ask for a cute new dress or tickets to see Wham! - all I wanted was to see George Carlin's live show at the Wilmington Opera House. I got my wish and and have been a devoted fan ever since. I don't always agree with what he says or his perspective of the world but he always challenges me, makes me think and of course, makes me laugh. We will miss you George Carlin, you magnificent, shit-kicking, motherfucking cunt

  • @cricket801 Good choice.

    Hellfuck!

  • @cricket801 I agree to not always agree, what you said rings true for me too. In 1987 I was 13 and had been watching Carlin and Fraggle Rock for 3 years already, (I had a lot of liberty as a child since my parents were hippies.) Carlin made sense, made me laugh, and I've been clean and sober for over a month now. :)

  • you will be missed carlin.

  • Ya know, he'd probably laugh at this.

  • You know why he can disaprove god?

cuz he IS god and he knows what to say...GO CARLIN

  • I think that making fun out of some trouble is the first step to solve it. Thanks for the video. Keep posting.

  • George Carlin, Bill Hicks, wise men!!!

  • agreed. sucks bill hicks is dead, he was great but thankfully carlin is better and alive. someone else who should be included in that list is doug stanhope. he is a wise comedian like them who makes great points.

  • im filing for divorce rite now!!!

  • I LOVE YOU CARLIN

keep up the realistic perspective, cynical my ass- those whiney bitches are just killing the messenger.

  • Wisdom....pure wisdom

  • I used to like him,,, Now I Love Him...

He may be alittle well,,,,forget it...

He's is right on target, God Bless Him..

  • george is god

  • I love this man!

  • he is very wise

  • Who are the idiots for being susceptible to propaganda ?

  • I don't know if he is aware or not, but he thinks much like a Buddhist. The whole part about detachment to avoid negative emotions is exactly from Buddhism. The fact that almost all things have gone to crap in the world is a direct result of our actions. This is exactly what karma is.

He is not just a great comedian but also a great observer of life!

  • it would be silly to think he werent aware noting the "zen of laughter" hah " laugh and grow fat"

  • I would give alot to have an off the air conversation with this guy. He's brilliant.

  • Intelligent, Good Man.......AND FUNNY AS SHIT!!!!

  • Wow. Well said.

  • Our bank accounts have nothing to do with his bank account.

  • It's always interesting to hear Carlin himself speak. Outside of a stage setting.

  • We can't divorce ourselves from the human race because we are all one. Enlightenment is a process that some of us older folks might not get a chance to see and that can bum one out. Nevertheless, it continues.

  • George knows what the definition of cynical is. Not many people do these days.

  • Me to I divorce myself from the human race, I dont wish anything to do with ANY of you. I got the feeling after watching most of his videos that he doesn't think much to the human race, and I gotta tell you I have to agree, I dont hate blacks or women or men or gays like some people do, I hate them all equally. I almost sound modern dont I.

  • If you don't want anything to do with the human race, why would you think we want to be subjected to your sub-par espousal of somebody elses' philosophy (which, frankly, you seem to have missed the point of)?

  • george carlin is the greatest social commentator i have seen so far. He's both dead on right and as funny as anyone out there.

  • watching ourselves or our heroes getting older isnt sad, its zen, its natural. it's ok! why are we harping on george's probably-not-so imminent-death- don't we all have that gig coming up sooner or later? why obsess on it? my divorce with the species is pending, i think maybe we can still try working things out in counseling... divorce is so drastic & hard on the kids...but if i divorce the human race, i wouldn't mind shacking up with georgie c. he still makes me laugh...

  • The most Zen thing in the world is the little mustache on the lunch-lady who worked at your school.

  • 70 already? I hope he lives longer than me. He is a far better man than I, and people may be able to continue to learn from him if they can get their heads out of their asses.

  • not to many people has reached his level of understanding. It'll be a sad day when this man dies. Watching him over the years and seeing how he has been weakening and slowing down over the recent years really does kills you inside.

  • I loved that little clip. I will be genuinely saddened when George Carlin dies, but let's just applaud him for not being dead for now.

Looking forward to 'It's Bad For Ya'

  • when does that premiere oh HBO?

  • horrible, just read my comment back and how he is dead. and i was genuinely saddened and i still am. rip george, you've changed my life and many others forever.

  • I will soon be divorced from the human race too... but i think i will never stop loving George Carlin.

Carlin will soon leave us, or perhaps i leave first, so take as much from him as you can and want.... because after his death, his ideas will be misunderstood, like always has happened with the greatest...

  • Yes he is now 70 and has 0 to 20 left leaning towards the left side of the scale. Of course the rich have access to treatments that allow them to live much longer than the masses so maybe it leans to the right. I will truly miss this man and I know that those as I who understand him now will always understand. What I would give to get on a flight to Europe or something and find my seat right next to his. Personal dream to of mine to sit with this man and just talk.

  • Totally agree with youon that, just to sit and talk with George would be so great. George is a legend and personal idol of mine. The world willnever be the same without him BUT saying that, he is alive and well.. Just saw him perform a few weeks ago and he is back on the ball as always.
