@papaburger Angelina's mother is from Indonesia and her father is from England. She was born in Jakarta, Indonesia but has lived in England since she was 6 months old. She is currently studying Chemistry at Oxford University and taking a break from competitive archery.
If archers had muscles like bodybuilders they would be unable to shoot properly. The muscles would harm the movements. Good arches do excercises for their muscles, but they keep them strechable, sothat they do not look that huge.
Your answer lies in the technology. Back in the day, you needed to train for many years to develop the kind of muscles to draw a 120-pound bow fully. Now, we have technology like pulleys and material composites that make it easier to pull the string back without sacrificing the speed of the arrow or the distance it flies.
cool looking :D but why do you move youre head slightly foreward when your string closes to your nose? that happens to people when the bow is to strong for them, or maybe its just the way you do it?
It tends to be a natural impulse for some people . Basically as the weight comes onto the back and shoulders the muscles around the lower neck and trapezius area 'close up'. It is natural - yes it isn't necessarily a good thing but rectifying it would probably throw a spanner in the works
Good posture and great letoff and follow through.
