This is emotionalism without wisdom or common sense. We are not a perfect people and human nature is a constant that does not change. Don't sell us short either. There is nobility in being self reliant and working for attainable goals, the pride that comes from hard work and the rewards of its success. Success is born of failures and to not let anyone fail is to let no one succeed. It takes the pride out of one's soul and makes them slaves to those who wish to rule them.

What an eye opening video, was this taken into account before or after the recession hit the entire world or before? To think that more homes are going into foreclosure and more people are loosing there jobs is eye opening.
ok i have an issue with the they live on less than so many us dollars because that doesn't say anything as to how much of their own currency they live or the worth of their currency. The prices of goods in their countries will not be the same and will not be in us dollars. I know plenty of people here in Thailand that live on 2-5 dollars a day but with 3 dollars you can eat three meals, so that standard is just not a very acurate portrayal of poverty.
I believe they converted the currency unit into US dollars $ using PPP (purchasing power parity), which means that $1 in the video is the equivalent of $1 worth of goods in the US.
which is still misleading because it does not tell what the ppp of that dollar is in the country affected thus it becomes a misleading way to publish such information. I am not saying people aren't poor or starving but this is a misleading figure.
