the mac brushes in the holiday sets arent made my hand so they are a much lower qualety compared to the regular ones. that why they shed. i got the set with the 187 like you did and i had to return it the next day :(

the wave of the wand set is the one i got... and none of the brushes in that set shed..

I bought one of those holiday packs. In the US it costs $49 and in Canada it costs $58... so 65 Euros is INSANE expensive to me... given the exchange although I'm assuming that salaries/wages are in accordance to inflation of price over there (hoping).

Considering it's a tavel pack/mini kit its prices competitively compared to other brands and the full sized brushes. If you are not a make-up artist or super-mac-junky.. news flash... u don't really need top of the line (wallet busting$) brushes.

The little brushes that come in those sets tend to shed way more than the full size brushes, they're not really the same. I think the actual sized brushes are way overpriced anyway but they kind of rip you off with the sets because they aren't made as well as the full size.

I bought the do-the-trick one! mainly because i practically FLIPPED out when I saw that it had the 187 (i had been lusting over it for too long).

i've never own mac brushes before it xD i (just like you) figured there were more things I could buy instead (plus the 187 is originally 42 bucks!). but i was SO excited for the brushes because i prefer smaller handles (better grip). and they are so cute!

hah. im just like u! im not really into brushes that much, especially when the little eye applicators that come with ur eyeshadows work just as well. but i told my boyfriend last week when we walked by the mac counter that i want the set w/the 187 foundation brush for x-mas. i like how it looks so chic and everything, and i want the smudger brush that comes w/it for eyeliner. heehee

ya the quality isnt as good in the brush sets, but they are nice to have and good for travel. I bought the last brush set from graphic garden and use them all the time.

the 187 really does shed! i have a holiday set too! Mine fell apart completely after 3 months. all the bristles just come out everytime you use it! I might have o invest in the full size 187!

i have the full sized 187 brush and i love it, i've never experianced any shedding. Im not completely sure but i think i've heard that the smaller holiday collection brushes aren't hand made like the full sizes so maybe thats why. I've only got two mac brushes myself but thanks for doing this video i think ill deffiantly be putting a few of these sets of my christmas list. x

You can also use the 224 brush for concealer. too :) I have one that I use for concealer under my eye area. And another4 eye make up.

For the 187 brush dont use a heavy hand w/ the brush & it won't shed as much. Try & just use the white bristles and not get to the black part.

The holiday brushes are good brushes but they don't always use the exact same hairs they use for the full sized brushes. Still awesome brushes though 2 start off w/or travel with.

Then I wnated more... I am a makeup junkie what can I say.

Why is your 187 SE shedding - mine is ok, hve you washed it 1,2 times now? Maybe after 2 washes it will stop shedding! It will be great ti see a video makeup application where yu use some of them:)

just a few helpful hints:

the 224 (blending brush) is fabulous for putting on concealer under the eyes

I also have the special edition 187 (skunk brush). The shedding will go away after you wash it a couple of times. It will also bleed color a lot when you wash it.

all of the brush sets are made of synthetic "hairs" and are machine made, whereas the regular mac brushes are usually natural goat hair (depending on the brush) and are hand crafted

you could also use that concealer brush for any liquid material...so a base for your eyes such as a paint pot or cream eyeshadow :)

I love the 219 and the 224! The brush sets you got are amazing, those are the brushes everyone needs in my opinion! I wanted to get one too but every set has at least one brush i already have..so i got the lipgloss set and one of the eye bags instead :)

eventhough the brushes are the same numbers the quality is worse than the normal brushes i mean there still mac so there good just not as nice as the regular sized ones

Just to let you know, the regular brushes are more expensive because they are hand made. The brushes in the sets are made by a machine.

great vid anna ..i completely agree with how much money you can save by buying the sets rather than individual brushes, I have only ever bought one mac brush individually and it was like 50euro !!!! sets are the way to go and they are just as good a quality as the individual ones .....
