Wow! I too, grew up on Evie. I had the songbook and wore out our piano by playing this beautiful and haunting melody over and over. Right now my Mom is in the hospital with a serious illness. So, it is wonderful to remember happier days of my youth with this music as the backdrop. Thank you!
@MrMangoman69 You are most welcome. And believe me I get as much out of it as y'all do. My prayers go out to your mother, you and your family. My own mother is the one who gave me my love of music. And I've played this one quite a few times myself. Just wish I could play the flute sometimes. It's the most beautiful part of the song for me. Well, besides all the rest of course.
dude, i loved this song in grade school. Travelling across the country this came up on our 8-track, I think I made my parents ill b/c I asked them to play it so much. :) thanks for posting. Was searching for this track today, and only had the chorus and some of the words. Glad I found it!
@the4cast You know, that's the very reason I uploaded it. I had to dig out the LP, and it was in amazingly good shape. Dad was a wonder he was. A friend helped me do the converting, and I uploaded it. Thought maybe there might be others who wanted to listen to it too. Am so glad to know I was right. And glad you found it. :-}
@Potomacstud You are most welcome. Last Christmas Day I did a search for this one. Came across the song, but not her version. And since I had long since managed to get a friend to transfer it to CD, I had to put it up. Kind of a Christmas Present to me I suppose you might say. And hoped maybe someone else might like it too. And all the kudos go to Evie Tornquist. Every single one.
About 35 years ago when my wife and I were newlyweds and newly born again, we discovered Evie. Her music helped strengthen our new found faith in Jesus. God Bless her and her household.
evie has a tremendous ministry of song, when i first met the Lord, evie, david ingles, andrae crouch, and len mink were the ministers of song that the Lord used to minister to me. everything evie does is GOOD! i would play this song over and over and meditate on the Lord.
I can't believe you have this song. What was the name of the Album it was on? Evie is such a sweetheart. She was the first cassette we bought when we bought a car with a cassette player in it. I am on memory lane tonight. Beautiful and true words.
@dlwoods7 Added it to the description, but the name of the album is "Gentle Moments', and it is out on CD now I believe. I got to see her live once, she came to my hometown at the time - Abilene, TX. Her voice has the same crystal clear quality live as it does recorded. Truly an amazing talent.
@vickiscooby Your very welcome. I made this simple little video because I couldn't find the song online. All i had was this old LP. And it's such a beautiful song, I had to share it with anyone who wanted to hear it.
Thank you so much for sharing this song - one of my favorites. I really needed to hear this and remind myself that I do need Jesus in my life. I just can't do it alone. Life just seems so empy without Him.
@shelby0803 Always loved this song, and for just the reasons you mention. Every time I listen to it I am filled with serenity, no matter the travails of life I am never truly alone. And I thank God everyday for that gift.
I cannot even begin to tell you how grateful I am that you posted this song; I hadn't heard it in years, and couldn't find it anywhere. God bless you forever
@VirtuesPenumbra I'm glad. It's why I posted it - I couldn't find it anywhere else. Had to dig out the old vinyl, and thought to share it. So bon appetit!
