  • Added in January 2007?

And only 2 891 views so far?? It can't be!

How can my poor videos have more views than yours? :\

    Your speedpainting is awesome!

There are many, many, worse speedpainting here, on youtube... and they are more famous than yours! It is unfair.

  • almost 3 years later...and, barely 6000 views.

People on youtube don't know what they're missing, they like to watch idiotic stuff like kevjumba or that fag talking about how fag he is. People nowadays don't really know how to appreciate true artists, like this one, sad...sad indeed.

  • awesome!just perfect!hey bkstudio can you tell me the name of the song couse i liked it very much.thanks in advance...

  • The artist is Nick Cave on the soundtrack to "the proposition" ... it's the tracks "road to banyon" and the beginning of "down to the valley".

Glad you liked the music. It's a fantastic soundtrack and film. Nick Cave wrote the script for it as well ... it's basically a western set in Australia. One of my favorite films of '06.

Very brutal film, but rewarding if you can get through the carnage.

  • im so jealous of you, i cant use the color the way you do,i have a question: what did you made at 00:52? the texture thing...

    Great skills

  • thank you, Jesus.

the texture painting at :52 is a scan of an abstract I painted with acrylics and overlaid on the digital painting. When things get a little too clean I begin to lose the ability to "read" into the surface ... paper has grain, a canvas has a mesh ... but digital art can become completely sterile due to a lack of ground.

Also, I find an injection of texture tends to free the work up a bit from my own limitations, and expose a greater potential.

  • You are inspirational =D

    Highlights of video:

#1 - Sunrays -really caught me off guard how much of a difference that made to the picture.

#2 - Water waves -very cool technique that I will be pickign up, thank you! <3

#3 - Final detailing -amazing accuracy, you didn't waste any effort at all.

  • thank you, everyone.

    The comments are deeply appreciated.

  • Damn nice end result. So much tension and energy!

  • very very nice stuff, i feel ashamed that my sketch vids have move views than yours.

the colours and concept are both great :D.

  • nice walktrough. one of the more entertaining sketch vids ive seen on this site.

  • Whoa. The final image has so much drama and energy. Love it... truly inspirational.

  • "Inspirational" is the best sort of compliment. Thank you.

  • damn EXCELLENT work, i hope some day i learn your techniques in color. whats the real time lapse?

  • Thank you very much. I believe the time for the sketch phase was around an hour. It's been a while since I recorded this so I can't be sure. I squeezed the illustration in between jobs one weekend so the time I had from kick-off to completion was very limited.

thanks again for the kind words.

  • How does this not have more views? You, sir are excellent at color, lighting...and...whatever. I'm watching you. Keep rocking. :D

  • Thank you, Becky. I just checked out your speedpaint and was very impressed. Well done!
