@yakupd1989 i think the a4 would win. as you see, the 3.0 V6 got about 500 Newtonmeter, so if the driver of the audi is intelligent enough not to turn the car up to the full rpm (about 4600 rpm) but takes the next gear on top of the power (about 3500 rpm) i think the a4 will beat the bmw easily. and as mentioned, don't forget about the quattro ;) BMW got more power in the engine but no chance to bring this power on the street.
@brandtner0405 Agree, turbodiesel should not run the rpm full, if redline is at 4600, then you have to shift gear as you also said 3500.. But another technical question, can I somewhere see, how much NM and HP the 3.0 tdi v6 240 hp engine produces?
@yakupd1989 and anyway- mi personal opinion is, that audi got a better transmition system, the power of the engine is amazingly brought to the street, there's nearly no power that gets lost in the gearbox. bmw has nearly the same problem as american cars! a lot of PS but one quarter or on third of the power gets lost in the gearbox. i don't like that... :) to be honest- i think a audi A5 3,2 V6 FSI would lose against the 330i, audi ottomotors are unfortunatly not that powerfull without turbo :(
@yakupd1989 sry i didn't know how to translate right... there are differences between the transmition systems (power from engine to gearbox to wheels). For instance a Ford Mustang has a 350 PS engine. Only 220 PS get down on the wheels. If you compare with an 350 PS Audi, the audi would bring down 260-280 PS on wheels.

Und zu deinem BMW 123d. Kein Wunder das er Leistung hat, es ist ein 2.0 TDI mit 2 Turbolader. Wieso werden schon immer Rennwagen als Benziner gebaut? Weil sie einfach mehr Leistung haben! Ein 2.0 Benziner mit Bi - Turbo Aufladung würde die Leistung von 204 PS weit überschreiten!

Ein alter Ford Escort RS2000 mit 2.0 16V leistete damals schon 150 PS ohne Turbolader etc. Man sieht ja an den neuen TSI Motoren von VW wie viel Potenzial in einem Ottomotor steckt. Ein Dieselmotor wird nie die Zukunft sein!
Nehme ein 2.0 TDI und ein 2.0 16V Turbo Benziner und vergleiche dann! Der Diesel wird kein Land haben!

Alleine das dauernde schalten beim Diesel nervt. Und ein gemachter Benziner mit Turbolader fährt einen Diesel locker davon. Mein 15 Jahre alter Mondeo mit 2.0 16V verblässt viele neue 2.0 TDI Motoren! Allein wenn ich schon TDI lese. Geht nichts über ein Benziner!
@Embrace1975 This was an even race. And economy is not that great in a big turbo diesel. I've had several so am un-biased but will say both the petrol/gas 330i and big engine diesel here will see mid 30mpg (unless you drive the diesel low revs everywhere (which nobody will).. So rather defeats the purpose of having a diesel. Personally if the performance and economy is similar I will take a petrol engine any day due to the extra character you get.
@gregorsv doesn't matter cause it proves that diesel can be just as powerful as petrol. 3000cc TDI can keep up with 3300cc petrol, + BMW sucks anyway.

@gregorsv considering the diesel works on lower revs i'd say the Audi is the faster car. But then the BMW 330d is would do the exact same thing, the petrol car needs to leave from a standing start and go around a track to show these diesels what happening, but in the real world the the touqe of big diesels is too much. The same can be said for all petrol/diesel cars of simurlar power.

Selbst der Vergleich eines Turbo-Benziners zu einem gleichvolumigen Turbo-Diesel kann zu Gunsten des Diesels ausfallen. Ich fahre einen 4,4l V8 (E39 540i mit Chip auf 310ps). Ein 335i (306ps) ist nahezu ebenbürtig. Ich hatte den Vergleich auch schon zu einem modifizierten E60 535d und der war mit nur 3l Hubraum deutlich schneller. Die toppen gechippt sogar einen E46 M3!
stell mich gerne mal mit meinem 330D zur verfügung dann wirste sehen das der Audi um längen keine Chanse hat.
ABER es sind beides schöne und gute Autos. Audi uns BMW sind von Verarbeitung Motor Ausstattung und fahrgefühl einfach nur ein traum. Wobei das ich aber sagen muss das sich ein BMW nen ticken besser fahren lässt wie ein Audi

Würde er den Motor noch den kleinen rest vernünftig ausdrehen würde es anders rum aussehen. Ein 258 PS Benziner schlägt den vergleichbaren Diesel, ob Turbo oder nicht. Wer einen 6 Zyl BMW fährt kann ja mal testen was es für ein unterschied macht wenn man zB. anstatt zB bis 6000Umin nur bis 5800 dreht...
@kostaneumann dafür hat der 330 i mehr ps und eigtl gehen die gänge von benzinern länger sodass er ein bischen später schalten sollen könnte als ein diesel..eigtl schon ziemlich vergleichbar
@jboos100 Not exactly..I don't think people realize torque is what really matters when it comes to pulling, its not always the HP but more of the TQ/Weight. The BMW is RWD and has 221 ft lbs @ 2500rpm, weighing 3362 lbs. The Audi has 369 ft lbs @ 2500rpm, weighing 3549 lb. Although the Audi weighs almost 200lbs more the diesel engine produces more torque which also makes the car pull quicker as it goes through the rpms. I'd say compare it to something more equal such as a BMW 635d, a 3.0 Diesel

Deshalb versteh ich auch nicht was daran jetzt "unfair" ist ... Der Benziner hat ein größeres Drehzahlband im Vergleich zum Diesel und in dem Vergleich sogar noch 32 PS mehr ... NM hin oder her ... Beim Beschleunigen spielt die Leistung (und noch viele andere Faktoren) eine Rolle ... NM ist nicht auschlaggebend bei der Beschleunigung
@rustam88chechen Schraube mal auf nen BMW mit 272 PS nen Kompressor siehe "G-Power", dann kann dein Audi schön billig Spirt tanken, Diesel Sparfüchse halt.

Das Problem ist auch der Turbo welcher halt nochmal zusätzlich Power reinhaut, Die Leistung kommt erst mit der Drehzahl, der Diesel hat die schon im Standgas im Endeffekt.
@Berlinermauere dir ist schon klar das der Diesel ein sehr kurzer Drehzahlband hat, und der Turbo nicht sofort Stoff gibt ... Für die unteren Drehzahlen ist nämlich der kleine Turbo zuständig (bei Bi-Turbo). Es geht hier um Serie ... Und Serie hat nun mal der Audi einen Turbo. Aber 32 PS weniger als der BMW :)

@Embrace1975 This was an even race. And economy is not that great in a big turbo diesel. I've had several so am un-biased but will say both the petrol/gas 330i and big engine diesel here will see mid 30mpg (unless you drive the diesel low revs everywhere (which nobody will).. So rather defeats the purpose of having a diesel. Personally if the performance and economy is similar I will take a petrol engine any day due to the extra character you get.

@kiwichai u really dont know much about cars. the iconic 330i or 530i or 630i or even 730i means it has a 3 litre straight 6 engine, not a 3.3 litre u dooooosh! 330 dosnt mean 3.3 litre... it means 3 series 3.0 litre.

@gregorsv The Audi was ahead of the BMW before it started to brake. You can hear the engine.... But yes, it was quite an equal race. Amazing that the diesel performs against a petrol like that!

@gregorsv considering the diesel works on lower revs i'd say the Audi is the faster car. But then the BMW 330d is would do the exact same thing, the petrol car needs to leave from a standing start and go around a track to show these diesels what happening, but in the real world the the touqe of big diesels is too much. The same can be said for all petrol/diesel cars of simurlar power.

Selbst der Vergleich eines Turbo-Benziners zu einem gleichvolumigen Turbo-Diesel kann zu Gunsten des Diesels ausfallen. Ich fahre einen 4,4l V8 (E39 540i mit Chip auf 310ps). Ein 335i (306ps) ist nahezu ebenbürtig. Ich hatte den Vergleich auch schon zu einem modifizierten E60 535d und der war mit nur 3l Hubraum deutlich schneller. Die toppen gechippt sogar einen E46 M3!

stell mich gerne mal mit meinem 330D zur verfügung dann wirste sehen das der Audi um längen keine Chanse hat.
ABER es sind beides schöne und gute Autos. Audi uns BMW sind von Verarbeitung Motor Ausstattung und fahrgefühl einfach nur ein traum. Wobei das ich aber sagen muss das sich ein BMW nen ticken besser fahren lässt wie ein Audi

Das schafft ein "unbehandelter" A5 Diesel niemals! Vielleicht die ersten meter, aber obenraus keine Chance.
Aber hier sprechen ja ausschließlich Experten, die selbst solche Autos fahren. (Für die etwas einfach gestrickteren, das war Ironie (Für die etwas einfach gestrickteren: ich meinte das Gegenteil))
Im Gegensatz zu den Meisten hier, kann ich auf Grund reichlich Erfahrung solche Aussagen treffen.

ich glaube nicht das da wirklich ein 330i am start war oder das der audi ein diesel war, kann nicht genau sagen was das genau ist aber irgendwas stinckt da aufjedenfall, sonst wurde der bmw denn audi fertig machen, so wie immer halt ;)

Würde er den Motor noch den kleinen rest vernünftig ausdrehen würde es anders rum aussehen. Ein 258 PS Benziner schlägt den vergleichbaren Diesel, ob Turbo oder nicht. Wer einen 6 Zyl BMW fährt kann ja mal testen was es für ein unterschied macht wenn man zB. anstatt zB bis 6000Umin nur bis 5800 dreht...

@jboos100 Not exactly..I don't think people realize torque is what really matters when it comes to pulling, its not always the HP but more of the TQ/Weight. The BMW is RWD and has 221 ft lbs @ 2500rpm, weighing 3362 lbs. The Audi has 369 ft lbs @ 2500rpm, weighing 3549 lb. Although the Audi weighs almost 200lbs more the diesel engine produces more torque which also makes the car pull quicker as it goes through the rpms. I'd say compare it to something more equal such as a BMW 635d, a 3.0 Diesel

@kostaneumann das is mir klar das ein Diesel mehr NM hat als ein Benziner ... Ich mein, ich bin ein begeisterter Dieselfahrer und auch ein "Dieselfan" ... Deshalb versteh ich auch nicht was daran jetzt "unfair" ist ... Der Benziner hat ein größeres Drehzahlband im Vergleich zum Diesel und in dem Vergleich sogar noch 32 PS mehr ... NM hin oder her ... Beim Beschleunigen spielt die Leistung (und noch viele andere Faktoren) eine Rolle ... NM ist nicht auschlaggebend bei der Beschleunigung

Das Problem ist auch der Turbo welcher halt nochmal zusätzlich Power reinhaut, Die Leistung kommt erst mit der Drehzahl, der Diesel hat die schon im Standgas im Endeffekt.
Der Serienmäßige Benziner hat halt keinen Turbo^^

@Berlinermauere dir ist schon klar das der Diesel ein sehr kurzer Drehzahlband hat, und der Turbo nicht sofort Stoff gibt ... Für die unteren Drehzahlen ist nämlich der kleine Turbo zuständig (bei Bi-Turbo). Es geht hier um Serie ... Und Serie hat nun mal der Audi einen Turbo. Aber 32 PS weniger als der BMW :)

Ein 3 Liter Benziner sollte normaler weise keine probleme gegen einen 3 Liter Diesel haben...
Aber manche leute haben einfach keine ahnung...
Sogar mit mein 323i habe ich diese schmodder 3liter diesel kacke vernichtet...
