  • All parts of the world should return here.

  • To forgive someone for murdering your child is truly the most virtuous act anyone can ever hope to accomplish. The Amish, a misunderstood yet powerful people are truly real examples of Christ's followers.

  • I still cannot understand why these meak and mild hard-working lambs, like Christ, are able to live in as such violent country as the US. After two years of the terrible shooting they suffer, I do not want to forget. Let the representatives and authorities protect these communities, which are the last trace of human dignity the US have.

  • @swaingles First of all , English ! Learn it ! Second , I DARE ya ta go ta Afghanistan AND call America violent when ya get back !

  • @1993MovieMan With all respect, sir, I wonder Who started violence in the world? The Americans, of course. I cannot say "Serves you right" because of moral barriers, but I do feel very willing to say it. And besides, is Afghanistan all you have got to defend yourselves from allegedly being responsible for the destruction of culture, economy and moral standards all over the world? I suggest your reading "The Fall of the Roman Empire"

  • @swaingles Oh sure , Brits , you Argentinians , The Germans , The Italians and The French are totally innocent ! I can`t stand all you people blamin` us for all the violence and intolerance on Earth ! The worst atrocities were committed by Europeans , many before America EVEN existed ! That`s a historical fact , moron !

  • @1993MovieMan That's the point. The Americans won WWII and they turned to the worst dreadful practices instead of heading towads the building of a new better world. When you won, greed won over Americans. Shame on you Americans. You had the chance, you really had it and you wasted, sir; of course I refuse to use such epithets as yours because that would make me someone like you.

  • @swaingles

1 . Hey , don`t talk about us Americans as if we`re all like our politicians and fatcats ! The majority of us are good , hard-working middle-class people just tryin` ta make a decent living ! Like my parents !

2 . Every country`s flawed ! Do your research and you`d see America`s one of the most tolerant , least violent countries in The World ! Oh wait , you Argentinian commies aren`t allowed ta do research , are ya ?!?!?

  • @1993MovieMan We have had our share of research and revision. Military officials are being on trial since 2001. Can I say you're doing the same with both your forces and former presidents like hell-lying Bush Jr.? If you, people of United States of America (because America is the continent where you and I live, and not a country), had not chosen those people, we would be much better off in the rest of the world. I'm sure your parents are decent people, but next time, vote decent people

  • @swaingles

3 . Someone like me?!?!? An intelligent person who doesn`t buy every piece o` propaganda that`s put out ?!?!? Oh yeah , that would be terrible !

  • @1993MovieMan I think it's the other way round. you do actually buy propaganda. But, what can we expect from people like you who think that America is a country, who believe that everything is relative, who live according to what massive market demands, who believe money is the key to happiness, who do not know geography and international history?

  • @swaingles Everything IS relative , moron ! And , I do not live according to what mass market demands as I`m only 16 , I do not see money as the key to all happiness and I`d say I know geography and international history better than you do ! Again , you`re basing your impression of all Americans on a few overpriviledged bastards ! Also , my parents did not vote for Bush ! My mom voted for Gore and Kerry !

  • @swaingles Also , I am well aware America`s a continent , douchebag ! I just prefer ta call it that `cause United States sounds snobbish in my opinion ! Don`t act as if ya know the first freakin` thing about me `cause ya clearly don`t !

  • @1993MovieMan You sound more snobbish by saying America, honest. I'm sorry, child, if I have offended you; however, wake up and see what country you have been born. It's your generation's new chance to do things better. Good Luck!

  • @swaingles We are doing things better( do you see any slavery in America nowadays ? ) and will continue to do things better ! We`ll leave the stagnation ta you European commies , thank you very much !

  • @swaingles Also while I DO like The Amish , as an American I DO NOT appreciate you callin` them " the last trace of human dignity " in The US ! Have ya EVER been ta Philadelphia or New York ?!?!? Then , shut up !

  • @swaingles You're an idiot. If you honestly think America is -the- most violent country, then you clearly live a hole surrounded by your own ignorance. First.. they came here because America was a country that allowed them to live freely and practice their religion. OTHER countries forbid them of that right. So they came here. Also, read up on world history. I beg you. Japan, China, Germany, England, France, Russia. All violent at one time of another against other countries, or its own people.

  • @swaingles Read about The Beslan School Shooting. Or Darfur. Or the 2009 Iranian Elections. The Rape of Nanking. The British mercenaries who traveled the world demanding people of other countries becomes Christians/Catholics, and if they don't, they will be killed. Honestly.. Do -some- research before you attempt to completely insult and entire country. America of course has it's faults. But so does every other country.Seriously. Open a book and learn some facts. Stop spitting out drivel.

  • @Kayiko I have read about other events like the ones you have mentioned, and about The British in China, India, the masacre in Argelia by the French, the Russian in Ucrania, Poland, etc; however, in the matter of violence, the US take the lead. They have been the brain of many coup d'etat in Latin America as well as they have clearly aided non-official armies all in order to establish a non-stopping trade of weapons proving it has rendered tons of money. US's money is stained with blood.

  • If only the whole world had forgiveness like this and lived as they do ...the world would be so vastly different and better ...They have true Christ like forgiveness ...they will see eternity for there love and forgiveness .

  • i dont understand. the amish believe so strongly in forgivness but people are constantly shunned from the church for things that are considered unwholesome to there community. a woman fell in love with an "english man" but yet a murderer came into one of their schools and killed many little girls and was forgivin by the amish???? and if anyone can answer this question, please do...how come there arent and amish that isnt the color white?

  • @boringassheather may i chance a guess? the woman falling in love was probably thought to have a choice, and that she shouldn't have made the 'wrong' choice. marrying an outsider would change the dynamics of the community if she stayed. but for someone to come and murder - and then kill himself - no one in the community had a choice but to accept it - and it wouldn't change the dynamics of the society because no one from the community asked for / wanted it..... just a guess.

  • @boringassheather

    1 . " Shunning " isn`t NEARLY as common in the Amish community as Non-Amish believe !

2 . When " shunning " DOES occur , it is for arrogant , disrespectful and/or antisocial behavior and the " shunned " can ALWAYS be accepted back into the community if he/she expresses genuine remorse for his/her " sinful " behavior and vows to devote the rest of his/her life to God and the community !

3 . Amish are ALL Caucasian `cause they live in Pennsylvania !

  • I'm sure they are like us Englishers ,as in we have people with puppy mills also. They are Amish human beings not alians. Our ancestors treated dogs much differently than the modern world does today. It is a way of life that has to be taught.

  • i visted this place on holiday wen iw ent to see the amish people in lancaster i bought the book called the happening the true story of wat happened that day on oct 2nd 2006 by a girl called rebcca sue who was a true surviver but lost her younger sister and friends its very touching to read it but to visit the place the town was touching to even thou the school house had now been pulled dwn 3 maple trees stand in the grounds and a black apron path leading to were the school house would of been

  • Who will forgive them for the abuse that many, many of them subject dogs to in their puppy mills? These people think that God has given them the right to treat animals any way they see fit (read their docterine, it is in there). These people are thougth to be peaceful, loving people, why? Because they seclude themselves from modern society? Because they refuse to pay taxes or stop animal abuse when it runs rampant through their communities?

Do more research of this "forgiving people".

  • They do pay taxes, federal, state, and local. However I hope that more publicity will stop people from purchasing from the puppy mills. They only view the dogs as a cash crop, and work animals, which is fine with me but treat them humanely.

  • dear Rev. mom333, . . . were such possible--I do hope that, you'll post comments 19 hours a day--on every site within shot--hopefully, you'll get around to meet people, shake hands, tell them your real name; with public awareness, maybe, the larger world out there will perceive what a educated-loony you are with your use of: "God", "forgive", "docterine" --say, you've invented a kind of a cool way of spelling "doctrine", there; an' don't read any books, neither--they'll git'ch'ya! if ya do!!

  • Well, your comments don't entirely make sense, but if you've seen what I have here in PA, Lancaster county, Berks, Chester, etc., then you'd understand that these people DO treat their animals terribly. That is the only thing I am commenting, I would NEVER say that it is ok to become violent against them or anything like that, but they do need to be seen for who they are (many, not all of them). All you have to do is search for "Amish puppy mill" & see how they treat these animals for yourself

  • I'll check that out

  • I am an atheist, and tend to view Christians as annoying and naive....however, I have a deep respect for the Amish and an admiration for their dignity and the way they have handled this crisis.

  • @ignoranceandwant I'd say that true Christians who actually follow the Bible are respectable. But then there's this guy called the Devil (master deceiver). Christians don't run the white house. There are no crosses, only pagan gods and statues of people like Albert Pike (satanist) in the masonry of Washington D.C. Check out "riddles in stone" if you can. Plus did you ever notice that the ships Columbus sailed on when he came here and slaughtered the Indians had a red cross on them.

  • They are an amazing example for the rest of the world.

  • I want to express, as a Catholic, how deeply sorrow has this tragedy caused me. May God give you peace and bless you all. You are saints on Earth.

  • living among the amish about 3 miles from the school

  • Is it imposible to became a member of amish community??

  • It is not Verdefull, outsiders can join the Amish.

  • I'm thinking about joining the church. It's not forbidden, it's just VERY rare!

  • No. People may join the church. It is very rare, but does happen. It would be hard for an "Englisher" to join the church because of growing up with cars and electricity. If you are thinking about joining the church, don't fell left out! I felt that God was calling me to join the church. Now, I'm learning the customs and language.

  • This film is great! I strogly recomend everyone see it.
