@shadowhunter388 The open air burn temprature for JP 4 (jet fuel ) is less than 700 degrees F. Google it. Did you see the huge explosion and fireball when the planes hit the buildings ? That was most of the fuel burning away in a matter of seconds. Does a jet engine melt while burning compressed fuel ? They use foam on ANY fuel fire because water SPREADS the fuel. It has nothing to do with temprature. Jet fuel burns at about the same temp as a propane BBQ. Does the grill melt ?

part 2 I think the government didn't want any medical evidence of what the firefighters were suffering from and after waiting ten years, its harder to blame one particular event. Plus the added bonus of saving money since half of the firefighters have already died of mesothelioma, respiratory failure, multiple myeloma, and all kinds of cancers before the ten year anniversary.
