We can see from the fact that Allerorts has commented on this video that s/he has most likely seen the video above, which's in fact a clip from the movie Hackers. Therefore, Allerorts knows at least something about Hackers, which's sufficient to disprove your claim:)

That is, I think that until Allertorts clarifies for us the exact referent of his use of the term "hackers," we can at best conclude that his use of the term is ambiguous.

    However, the film Hackers is about hackers. Although the movie's not entirely accurate, it is still a good enough source to impart some knowledge about hackers. E.g., they use computers.

  • I was just thinking something similar upon recently watching Hackers again.

    Maybe they could have had it look realistic, ie hackers sitting in front of a terminal, typing in shell commands then to make it visually appealing convey that the hackers are seeing the 3D stuff in their minds.

    Now if someone would only explain why - according to tv shows - computers all make random "squibble squibble" noises and people type a bunch of random commands to zoom in on pictures / video!
