I think it is a pity we cannot have Tenth Planet, released on dvd which be nice but there you are. It is a shame we have lost the last episode of this story, but it is one of these things we can do nothing about sadly we have to make do with what we have got.
Hmmm... not sure. I like the way the original just shimmers and changes, and kids wouldn't have understood it as "regeneration" yet. With your animated version it's less clear what's going on with that in mind, but good job anyway. The only problem I really have with the original version is that the eyelids don't line up properly, otherwise I think the basic elements and simplicity of it are perfect.
Maybe, I've been thinking about it, but I wouldn't do it in an animated style, I'd try to find appropriate footage, not easy with Paul McGann, I'd need the stuff on DVD too, and I don't own the 1996 movie or any of Eccleston's episodes. So, a tough call right now. I want to tackle Sara Kingdom's death scene, but I haven't even worked out quite how yet. Animated style is a big possibilty there though.
Fabulous, your animation is fantastic. I'd love to see more of it. I really hope they animate more of the missing episodes, perhaps fans like you could offer to do them. Well done
That's awesome, although when they re-animate episode 4, they'll probably do a frame-by-frame copy of the surviving clip of the regeneration, as most people have seen it so it can't be too different.
That's true, I've tried to remain faithful by using screengrabs of the original regeneration as the basis for the 3 illustrations, so it's pretty close. I've just widened the closing view a bit.
Three drawn images (two close-ups and one medium shot) blended with saturation wipes, dilate effects, and stained glass windows transitions in animation shop. Edited together with sound and credits in your standard Windows movie maker.

You should be able to find the genuine footage hereabouts, This recreation is pretty close I hope although the end credits appeared differently.

Excellent recreation. How long did it take you to make it?
studboydave 4 years ago
Not long, the time it took to do the two drawings, them animate a blend between them and edit in Windows Movie Maker, couple of evenings tops.
