No I'm not. I'm hitting three notes the whole time. To my mind octave chords doesnt sound right, because you can clearly hear more then one note on Rage's Record.

But who could say what is right or wrong? Just Tom Morello himself. So play it your way and I play it my way ;-) I wouldnt play it like this, if it wouldnt sound right for me.

he didnt downstroke the whole entire time. He only down stroked during the distorted part because its the only real way to make it sound good. I do the same exact way. Try it next time you play palm muted. Makes a difference.
