  • The funny thing is that this is so reminiscent of what we had in school when I did maths. The funnier thing is that that was in the 2000s!

  • ok anyone have the answers, this is being used for my test to be a banker???

  • I remember watching this episode and I got them all wrong so I thought I was dumb as fuck lmao.

  • abslutely hilarious

  • This is the only show on television worth watching.

  • I swear that's Simon Pegg at 6:54

  • @Daggerblade123 Yes, it is.

  • My entry for the mathematics society's contest: it's a semi-ouroboros.

  • We watched this in a Maths lesson in school, and me and my friends though that this was a really old video (the computers) and really hard questions, then towards the middle of the video we found out that our teacher had tricked us into believing it was real! We all LOLed x)

  • You can set the calculator to stun!

  • I miss this show on Adult Swim. It's full of whatthefuckerry.

  • Thanks for posting this. I always associate 70s daytime TV with Lucozade because that's what I would drink if I was off sick with a cold. There was nothing on except for pages from Ceefax accompanied by middle-of-the-road music or the trade-test-transmission test-card. By the way, do you remember those lollys they used to sell at chemist shops? I used to love those.

  • I think I won the mathematics society's contest, that's a circle! WHERE'S MY TOAST SYSTEM.

  • Meths, Moths, Maths

  • Is that Simon Pegg playing the guard?

  • @MasterSamus

    He is indeed.

Simon played at least one other character as did Nick Frost. The series was written by Peter Serafinowicz so it is no wonder those two would make an appearance.

  • You said Jean was both taller and shorter than Imhotep. Error! Contradiction!

This seems like it could be a math lesson from Brak's dad, if Brak's dad had a british accent.

And I want a calculator with a stun setting!!!!

  • Look Around You -- all you see are sympathetic guys.

This is wonderful. Thanks very much for uploading it!

  • very funny I heard these guys on npr and they are too funny...Jan8c

  • I wish adult swim wasnt so gay these days...

  • 5:21

I didn't know a yard was one-and-a-quarter inches long. You learn something new every day!

  • Hey Simon Pegg @ 6:55! :)

  • Anyone notice the bottle labeled "meths"?

  • The final takes place in Nottinggam, on April the 4th of September

  • and I the only one who the the word "meth" on one of the jars? O.o

  • Yuo just won everything. ever.

  • 53 people are abviously too dim to understand the complex mathematics being explored in this video

  • How the fuck did this get any dislikes! It's amazing!

  • wish i had some garry-gum

  • That's the last of your problems... here are the answers to all your problems.

  • Luiqif math

  • how can queen elizabeth the 3rd be younger than 5th, if 5 comes after 3?

  • @HidanIAkatsuki Quite. I found that hilarious.

  • this actually makes more than math class ever did for me.

  • April 4th of September.

  • this is fucking AWESOME!

  • LMAO! Imhotep is so fucking irrelevant!

  • Is this a popular show in britian? I mean I'm American and i love this show but no one knows what it is were i am xD

  • @Ballisticob Jean and Brutus love it! Imhotep hates it. Lord Scotland enjoyed some episodes. Millsey and I are longer on speaking terms after the incident at his Fortieth! No it was nowhere near as popular as it should of been.

  • What if the anti garry gum has side effects?

  • I would have just flipped out with a actual lol if their periodic table had a few supplemental rows

  • School's over,why do I watch this!

  • I have Diarrhoea.

  • On the shelf at the beginning the bottles are labeled, Meths, Moths, Maths, Magma.

  • "This chapter, maths, is discussed in chapter 3.1415926 of your textbook"

  • simon pegg any1?

  • @cartledgerfc1 yeah, i saw him. i read in his book that he was involved in this

  • question: do the ladies have 8 punds before, or after they arrive at the shopping centre?

  • 53 people ran out of anti-garry gum

  • "And we'll see how you did 8er on."

    juuust caught that

  • I want a computerised toast system too!!

  • This is insulting to Mathematicians.

  • I bet those scientists were employed later on by Aperture Science.

  • How is it that Elisabeth the Fifth is older than E. the Forth and so on? It should really be the other way around! This instructional film seems to have some logical gaps! (sarcasm)

  • 3, everyone! :)

  • But how many times can she change her dress before it overheats?

    I worked it out to somewhere between 1 and 45,000,000,000 +- 1

  • Dear lord, please kill me.

  • When Earth is inevitably destroyed, all that will be left of our ravished civilizations will be these videos. The aliens will worship us as Gods.

  • I want that toaster.

  • Brilliant.

This gobbledygook is exactly what I hear when I listen km anything about mathematics- worrying...

  • Elizabeth III is Will's mum! (from the Inbetweeners)

  • I love how the scientist's hand just caresses the jar of "Michelle" in the intro.

  • @Flaminglog LOL Thank you! I hadn't noticed how he caressed the jar of "Michelle". That was great. I also love how the two jars preceding "Maths" are "Meths" and "Moths".

  • ((googolplex factorial) factorial) ... factorial'd one googolplex times. add one

    squared

    cubed

up to the power of googolplex

    factorial

    keep going

  • @Rokker815 And still, to paraphrase Carl Sagan, none of that is any closer to infinity than the number one.

  • Wish my calculator had a 'Stun' setting.

  • "Imhotep is invisible."

  • 400,000 thounsand billilions, its the biggest I can think of

  • ffffuuuuuck i ran out of anti-garry gum!

  • I dub it...

    cDonald's Pseudosphere!

  • look around you just look around have u figured out were looking 4 correct MATHS the largest number is 45 billion but matmatications think there may be more 45 000 000 001?

  • look around you just look around have u figured out were looking 4 correct MATHS

  • ok i just wasted my life for that? im just looking for a song! sad face

  • 6:10 Anti-Anti-Garry Gum?

  • 50 people are taller than Jean but shorter than Imhotep

  • Awesome tag at the beginning

  • April the 4th of September

  • 45,000,000,001?

    LMFAO

  • Funny how almost everything in that pencil case can be used to sell crack or do crack.

  • @buckocj3 do you use your protractor to sell crack?

  • @Jdpar1 Almost, almost everything. ;]

  • @buckocj3 Compasses? Ruler? Pencils? I'm no dealer, but it seems a bit weird.

  • @buckocj3 Yeah come to think of it its only razor blades and the bag itself and i'm no dealer i just watch alot of tv

  • @buckocj3 Yeah come to think of it its only razor blades and the bag itself and i'm no dealer i just watch alot of tv

  • I wanna go to fuckin Funjy's

  • Oh good God.

We have the toaster at 4:03 I'm not even joking.

I KNEW it was from the 70's!

    The shame...

  • @breathlessloveless no shame in a 70's toaster (lord knows it's not the first time I've had to say THAT)

  • @simonsomatic Cheers! And really? In what context does that sentence come up often?!

  • what have those cats got around their necks?

  • @simonsomatic I think they are used to protect the cats juggulars, i'm probably wrong.

  • LOL METHS in the beginning when you see the jars.

  • @buckocj3

    Wasn't that moths?

  • At 7:31 my cat was like WTF and got up and started to look around...

  • 6:56 It's Stuart Ashens!

  • A circle?

  • This is so good to watch stoned

  • Why does he crash his computer every episode intro?

  • @Shyster404 its to do with programming in BASIC on a BBC computer. It doesn't crash, it repeats the words.

So the first instruction makes the computer print "Look around you", then the second instruction tells it to go back to the first instruction. So it keeps going round and printing the same thing on the screen.

  • Set your calculator to Stun!

  • CATS! :D

  • Who are the 49 people who don't like this? They are the 49 people born with NO sense of humour. And btw, let's hear it for IMHOTEP.

  • AHAHAHAHA

Where has this been all my life?!? Why has nobody shown me this awesomeness before?

  • maths is the code to unlock the universe

  • QE IV is Lady Gaga

  • Serafinowicz should be allowed to make anything he pleases. He's so undervalued.

  • 7 2 8 is this?

  • 1:29 A MILLION?

  • The meaning of '8' and '9' are classified. Love it.

  • i missed this show :[

  • Problem 2 is wrong, the ladies still had 6 pounds, 64 pence left.

  • @xxcurnuxx You missed the interdimensional re-calculation principle. It clearly states that you have to subtract 6 pounds and 3 shillings.

  • @kebmann Oh, thank you, yet they still have 61 pounds left, but I just remembered that this is a special case, therefore you have to add Symmetrical Theorem, which states that when all the numbers are Symmetrical (Equal) you subtract the re-calculated number by the recalculated number plus 8

    x=rN-rN-8

  • Queen Elizabeth III is hot!

  • I remember a series of 5 minute voice-over documentary series (I think it's a British one, as I can tell buy the narrators accent), which was about physics, chemistry and other scientific issues. I also remember that it hadn't a a normal video footage but cutten images passing by, and also some famous quotes about each subject. As for the production year, I think it's around late '90s early '00s. I don't even know the title of this series. I would be thankful if someone helps.

  • Boards of Canada the show.

  • @Gmancrap umm....no

  • N^2 + 9 + 9

  • 06:56 that's Simon Pegg!

  • @DeafFret

holy shit, that IS simon pegg...

  • hahaha ive watched this about six times and only just realised he picks up a bottle of maths at the start

  • Anyone spot a certain Simon Pegg in this video? I'll give you a clue, it's at 6:54.

  • @rosscolquhoun lol snap!

  • 3 + 10 = Hello Man

  • This cant be a real instructial video, can it?

  • @SuperTortoisedude Oh dear you FAILED! No this is a comedy programme that was on the BBC a few years back.

  • 50 dislikes from the ConDem alliance…

  • Thumbs up for Simon Pegg's appearance at 6:55!

  • wtf is this? haha

  • "Imhotep is invisible!" lol

  • This video makes me proud to be british :)

  • the queens are David Bowie chorists.

  • lol, the bottles at 1:02

    "Manganese, Michelle, Meths, Moths, Maths"

  • I was sent here by Pirates, Vikings and Knights 2 website. O.O

And whats the point in the razorblades, lol?

  • @Tabe112 Every aspiring mathematician may have to suddenly battle off unwanted facial hair while on the job.

  • I think we'd all like to know, are the cats ok?

  • 3 + 5 = Hello man

  • 6:55 simon pegg?

  • Thumbs up if you were sent here from a stupid video about "Gary Neal Low Fives" a dumb article by Dan Devine

  • Oh god, I found some maths in my basement. Killed them with a broom.

  • Stop fighting now, stop writing now.

  • 8 = CLASSIFIED

    9 = CLASSIFIED

  • how were the ladies 8p short?

    £5.76 on those silly spiders.

    £5.12 for the bus home.

Once they've already bought the spiders and the shoes,

    only £2.24 were remaining.

Which means, in reality, that they were £3.12 short.

    Not 8p short.

  • @callkaro911 Why would you expect the math to be correct? ^^

  • @callkaro911 They are wrong, that is the point. All of this humor is subtle (as well as straight up wacky) and takes looking to spot it. Like for example, they can set their calculator to: stun, latin, and history. When they are showing you the list of what word corresponds to what letter, numbers 8 & 9 are classified. Them being wrong was part of the joke.

    You got it!

    Good for you :)

  • Here are the answers to all of your problems:

  • I love BBC so much lololol

  • lol.octuplets
