OMG ! I feel so lucky to have come across with this video ! Yozo Kayama was one of my crash when I was a young girl in Japan. He looks so great ! He aged wonderfully. Also I loved Shinji Tanimura from Alice ! I used to listen to the radio after midnight and I think he was like DJ and I had to be so quite, so my mom would not catch me up so late ! Both guys are so talented and I hope they will continue to sing wonderful songs !

think it's written by both of them, lyrics by shinji tanimura and composed by 弹厚, which is the pseudonym of Kayama Yuzo, Kayama wrote most of his song using his pseudonym.
Came across this clip more than a month ago, and now he is my new idol. This clip is from DVD " Symphonic Gala Concert" which he performed with the Orchestra conducted by Otomo Naoto. Spent about a month to look for this DVD but couldn't find it here in Singapore. Managed to bought it from a Hong Kong based website and had received it yesterday. Fantastic performance by Kayama Yuzo, He is such great looking man to look at and has a great vocal to listen to. Love him a lot.
Agree, he did it so well in "My Way", Managed to get his english songs compilation album, which include "Love me tender", "Bridge over troubled water"...etc and he did it equally well. Great album to have.

The name of the song is Umi no Uede. I think from TV show in Jappan back in 1976. He is very handsome back then playing acoustic guitar and sing with Ann Lewis. She is very pretty too. I couldn't believe Yuzo is 70+ years old.
Superb! I stumbled upon Kayama Yuzo while listening to Ventures surf guitar tracks on YouTube, and now I have a new favorite! He has a beautiful voice (as does Shinji Tanimura, as well). The version of "Kimi to Itsumademo" he does with the Ventures is really out of the park! Sure wish they would work together on a CD.

この歌はキリスト教の歌だとあるサイトに書いてありました
そして日本の国歌はオリジナルの聖書の書かれた言語、ヘブライ語
の音を使って巧みに日本語と絡めて作られた曲だそうです
この曲も好きですが今の国歌のほうが何十倍も迫力がある気がします

この歌を作った十数年前の２４時間テレビをたまたま見てて、「24時間で作った歌なんて・・・」とバカにした、十数年前の未熟だった僕は、歳を重ねる毎にこの曲を、その意味をようやく分かるようになり、感動するまでになった。
今、この歌詞同様、故郷から遠く離れた地でこの曲を聴きながら、頭に浮かぶ桜吹雪舞う故郷の空を思うと「いつ帰る愛の故郷」に思いを寄せる自分がいる。
こんな思いを、いろんな人の故郷への思いを乗せてくれる一曲を作った御二人の素晴らしさを、あれから十数年のちようやく分かり始めた未熟な僕です。
