@ElizabethIrish - no one knows whether she was indeed ugly...it was more that Henry disguised himself to surprise her when he first met her and all she saw was a fat, drunken lout and swore at him in German. I think his hurt pride, along with her German fashion of clothes which looked heavy put him off. I think her common sense saved her too. She didnt contest Henry's annulment...but is it true she became catholic? I read that she avoided mass during Mary's reign along with Elizabeth...

I know right? He kind of lost it after he killed Anne because that was around the same time that his leg started acting up so that he had to drain it everyday (is that karam?). I think that since it's an English show they want to portray him in a better light.

Well, as history goes, he should be. But this is a show, based on history but not entirely showing it. Henry should be a lot older, for another example.

They do play a little bit with it, they "bulk" JRM up with his costuming, but they go nowhere near as large as he was then.
